Witching Season (2 person/ spot saved for Tyrial )

Alex:

I shrugged. I was cruel to myself. After all, I was a great fighter, and while I was fighting I enjoyed it a lot. But I hated that part of me. I would rather do anything than hurt people.

Freya-
I looked over at him and saw the look on his face, feeling that something was wrong. "Alex, is something wrong?" I asked and then quickly added. "And fair warning- if you don't tell me, and I think it's really really really important or something is really bothering you I'll read your mind and find out myself. So you can either tell me or let me search inside your head, your choice." I said.

Alex:

I winced and then shook my head. I tried thinking about something else, on my training to become a knight instead. But that held painful memories as well, mostly from being alienated for being so young, and from outclassing the other students. I had grown used to the cold looks, and being ignored by the older knights by now.

Freya-
It must be something really bad...Sadly I was once again to curious for my own good and read his thoughts a bit. I frowned at what he was thinking about. "You're really strong, to be able to deal with such bitter people around you. But don't worry! Not everyone will give you the cold shoulder. I'll be here, I like you already! You seem like a really good knight." I said, my mouth slipping again. I just wanted to try and make him feel a bit better.

Alex:

I smiled a bit at being able to not have her know what actually bothered me. Then the smile turned shy and a tiny bit bigger as I realized what she had said. "I'm not that special, besides once I get you to the king, I probably wont be able to see you again."

Freya-
That wasn't fair! "You are special, and if it's true ,that I won't be able to see you once you get me to the king, then I won't go to him at all." I said as I crossed my arms over my chest. I didn't want to just get to the king and never see him again. He has really been the first person to not see me as an evil beast.

Alex:

"Its not that I wouldn't want to be able to see you again. I am just not senior enough yet to be able to walk around the castle freely. I can get to the front door's but not much farther." I explained adjusting my pack slightly.

Freya-
"Then I'll come see you. I think it would be ok even if you're not a senior. I mean, the king chose you to get me, no one else." I said, hoping that made sence.

Alex:

I looked down at the ground frowing a little bit. "Admittedly I don't know why I was chosen. But my king has made some unusual decisions before that turn out well..." I said more speaking to myself than her. I really didn't know why I had been chosen instead of the more experienced knights.

Freya-
I looked up at him, seeing the look on his face as he talked. I sighed and reached up and gently pulled on his hair a bit which made him look at me. "Don't make such a face. It really doesn't suit you at all. If you keep making faces like that I will go though every part of your head until I know everything. You understand?" I asked him.

((night!))

Alex:

I looked at her in shock. She had pulled me out of my thoughts, so I really wasn't sure what kind of face I had been making. "R-right, s-sorry." I stammered.

Freya-
I looked at his face now and started to laugh a bit. He looked very surprised and when he started to stutter it just added on. I giggled behind my hand, looking away from him. "You should really see your face." I said as I laughed softly.

Alex:

I blushed a bit and looked down. Well, at least she is laughing right?...I just wish it wasn't at me... I thought as I continued walking. We would be able to move faster if we got horses, but first I wanted to get farther along before I started looking at my map for a good sized city.

Freya-
I looked over at the map as well, just kind of curious. There was one city that seemed to be the closest and a few others not to far form that. "So where are we heading first?" I asked him.

Alex:

I glanced up from the map to Freya. I moved over to a tree and knelt down setting the map down. "I want to get you some things to help us travel." I said looking at the map. I looked her up and down and then closed my eyes starting to make a mental note on what she would need.

Freya-
"Oh. And what is this thing that we are going to get?" I asked curiously. I guess I should stop reading his mind for today. I think I've scared him enough.

Alex:

"Not, thing. Things. Plural. But we need to get you some winter gear for when we cross the mountains." I said keeping my eyes closed as I checked the list in my head.

Freya-
I wasn't fond of the cold at all, and right now I could tell I wouldn't like it much even with winter gear. I loved snow, but small girls with hardly any meat on their bones, like me, aren't meant for that kind of weather.

Alex:

I opened my eyes and then consulted the map. "We'll skip around this first town and head to the one closest to the mountain. That way we are more likely to get the supplies we need, not to mention we should be far enough away from anyone who would want to harm you."

Freya-
"Isn't that most everyone? I can't stay away from the human population forever." I said a bit jokingly, even though what I said was pretty much true. After looking at the map once more I looked around the forest. I could handle a forest but I still wasn't sure about myself and the mountain..I sighed softly to myself and looked back at Alex.

Alex:

I smiled a bit at her joke, but otherwise didn't respond to it. I folded up the map and put it away before looking at her. I was a bit surprised to find that she was looking at me, so I tilted my head wondering what she wanted.

Freya-
I was staring...I hadn't meant to! I quickly looked away and down at my feet. Why was I suddenly so nervous? Well...I guess it's because he's a human, or at least that was the excuse I made up for my feeling.

Alex:

I blinked and looked away as well. I wasn't sure why she had been staring at me. I shuffled my feet a bit, in shyness, not sure why she had been staring.

Freya-
After walking a bit in awkward slicence I looked up at him to say something but then felt the strangest feeling we were being watched. I witch learns to trust her gut and I stopped and grabbed Alex's hand and made him stop as well. I listened hard, for anything at all. It wasn't an animal, I could tell. Well, at least it wasn't a NORMAL animal. I looked up in the trees but saw nothing and then started to walk again slowly, still holding Alex's hand. After walking for a few minutes something caught my eye up ahead, a child. Standing still, as if it was looking at us, though the shadows of the trees hid their face. I stood there and looked at the child but didn't move any closer to them.

Alex:

I was shocked when she suddenly grabbed my hand. I blushed faintly and didn't know what I should do. I didn't know why she had done it and suddenly stopped us. I turned to face her but she started walking again so I just kept quiet. I walked next to her, uncertain if I should pull my hand out of hers. She had grabbed mine after all. Once I caught sight of the child I paused and stopped with her, not sure what to make of it.
