The Creation of the Perfect Assassins

Krissy:

I looked down at the ground. "I guess..." I said dully.

Lexi nodded as she jumped from the tree, landing squarely on her feet in a crouch. "Do you need help getting down?" she asked Krissy, looking back up into the tree.

Krissy:

I waved dismissively then climbed down slowly but gracefully.

Lexi waited for Krissy before heading inside, trying to avoid Kyle.

Krissy:

I followed her. "I'll go talk to him." I whispered then headed off to his room.

Lexi nodded, heading into the living room.

Krissy:

A while later I found Lexi again and went to sit down with her.

Lexi looked up at Krissy. "How'd it go?" she asked.

Krissy:

"He's going to come talk to you..." I said nervously.

"OH great..." Lexi sighed. "This is gonna end well..."

Krissy:

"He could apologize... You never know..." I said then chewed on my lip.

Lexi shrugged, standing. "Should I go talk to him then?"

Krissy:

"He's going to come here, I think. I wasn't supposed to come tell you, but, ya know, I did any way." I said as I got to my feet to and moved to the door. "Good luck." I said quietly.

Lexi nodded. "Thanks, Kris," she said, sighing.

Kyle:

I eventually found Lexi. "Hey," I said curtly from the door way.

"Hey," Lexi said back hesitantly. She sat on the couch, her knees drawn up to her chest. She had rolled up the sleeves on her shirt, revealing bruises all up and down her arms, especially around her wrists.

Kyle:

I watched her with a frown. "Krissy wanted me to ask you to stay with us." I muttered.

Lexi's eyes widened and she dropped her knees. "What?" she asked, surprised that those very words were coming out of his mouth. "Stay with us..."

Kyle:

I sighed and looked at the ground. “She wants you to stay with us. And honestly, I think you should too.” I said quietly.

"You do?" Lexi asked, still sounding and looking surprised. She ran forward and hugged him, trying not to cry. "Thank you..."

Kyle:

I half smiled and rubbed her back softly.  "Yeah, yeah, don't go getting emotional about it."  

((Once they leave))

Lexi let go and wiped her eyes quickly, hoping he hadn't seen it. "I-I won't. Thank you..."

Kyle:

"Don't thank me. Thank Krissy. Now, Lexi, there is one condition, I want you to be completely honest with me from this day forward. If you are going to leave, I want you to tell me before hand and if you plan to come back then I want to know where you are going. This is you second chance, there will not be a third. Got it?" I said trying not to be too unkind.

Lexi made a face. "Yeah, got it. But I have a condition to." She leaned in close. "Don't act like my mother."
