I chuckled softly, finding my own clothes which were tangled up with hers. It wasn't easy to dress in the tent, but with some moments of brushing against her I crawled my way out of the tent and stood in a stretch.

Rina:

We picked the camp up and had everything packed up and within half an hour we were on our way. It was another hour before the trees thickened and the road grew smaller with signs of unuse.

I had donned my armor again before we'd headed out. I adjusted my weapons as we walked, tightening or loosening straps while I kept pace beside her on my mount.

Rina:

The day went much like the one before it, though I was happier. I hadn't been this close to someone in over a year, I felt like I could truly trust and count on Talon.

Her happiness was infectious and as we rode I did what I could to make her laugh and smile, perfectly happy and content within our journey.

Rina:

The next day we were in the thick of the forest, often the path was so narrow that we had to ride single file. Though we had not seen evidence of anyone along our path, we were both still watchful. The forest was oddly quiet, which unnerved me, not even the birds were singing. My mood was still cheerful though, and we kept up a stead flow of conversation.

Around midday the horses became twitchy and reluctant whenever we passed tall bushes or rocks.

I murmured soothingly to my steed whenever I wasn't replying to Rina. The mood of the horses was beginning to effect me and I kept a hold on a weapon as we rode. I could feel the magic within me reacting to sources of magic around us, though I wasn't able to tell from where it came.

Rina:

Aero and Iris were buzzing around me which did nothing to calm my horse who seem ed the more timid of the two. Something, brown and awkwardly shaped darted across the path ahead of me and into the brush on the other side. It startled my horse who reared up up in terror. “No!” I held on as best I could but the hysterical animal, blocked from turning back by the other, slipped and fell back, taking me with him.

"Rina!" I called, reigning in my horse as she went down. I drew my blade and dismounted quickly eyeing the fallen horse in case it tried to bolt or kick.

Rina:

a faint whimper of pain escaped me as I pushed against my horse. He rolled off me and got to his feet shakily looking like he would bolt. “Grab him, quick!” I called.

I dashed forward and lept over her, grabbing onto the reins in a tight grip. "Easy...easy..." I tried to calm the horse though I wanted to check on Rina.

Rina:

Spasms of pain shot through my leg when I tried to get up. I cursed and clutched at it, pulling up the leg of my stocking. there was a deep bruise already forming.

I muttered an elvish curse as I saw the bruise begin to form. I took a look around than began to sheath my sword wanting to help Rina up onto my horse so we could be moving again and out of the woods.

Rina:

My horse put up much of a fight, tugging on the reins as best he could. I scooted as far out of the way as I could so as to avoid being trampled. My gaze then fell on a brown cloaked and hooded figure in the pathway up ahead bent at the waist as if in a bow toward us. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I was locked in place, unable to say anything or look away from the stationary being.

I had an iron grip on the reins, using my magic to steady myself and keep from losing hold of her horse. My back was to the figure and I had to focus on the horse instead of her.

Rina:

“My lord and lady,” The voice was low, impossible to hear from that distance, yet it was amplified to us. Form the words alone, neither gender, nor age were telling. “Let me be of assistance.” On the last word the horses got still, clearly tense but on moving. I was no less on edge than they were and had I been able to flee, I likely would have. Aero and Iris perched on my shoulder, also stilled by the unnerving presence, they they were poised for attack.
