Rina:

“I like your language, Savien. I don’t hear it often enough. You don’t need to translate for me. Be as you are,” I said softly. I didn’t want my being here to hamper him. I was also a little curious as to what he did. I wanted to see it.

"I wonder what you would think of my people if you visited during the Lunar Solstice holidays. When the moon shines bright and my people celebrate." I took her words however and got more comfortable. I undressed then, slowly until I settled on my cloak with nothing on. A shiver passed through me and I closed my eyes with my face turned towards the heavens.

Rina:

I watched him. I studied the glowing lines in his skin and admired his bare body. He was truly beautiful. It stirred my heard to think that he was mine, in some way at least. For now. I wanted to reach out and touch him. To run my hands over his body. But I refrained. I wanted him to be able to do whatever he wanted tonight without interruption.

The song slipped free, the elvish words and tune a prayer to the heavens.  Joy danced in my heart as I sung.  It was like a piece of me was returning.


After the final note filtered through the air I sighed wistfully then looked to her with a slow smile.  "Come here.  I'll do what I can to translate it for you."

Rina:

I moved closer to lay next to him. I looked at him with pure adoration. I couldn’t deny how his song had made my heart flutter with an emotion I wouldn’t name. I wanted to kiss his lips as soon as he finished his song.

With gentle nudges I brought her onto my lap, her back warm against my chest.  "I've told you before about how my people wear little during the full moon to better feel the moon light.  During our festivals to the moon it's uncommon to see anyone clothed. Our prayers are sung, and we bathe in the moonlight to offer them."  Once I had her settled I brought my lips close to her ear and wrapped my arms around her waist as I began to murmur the words to her.

Rina:

I closed my eyes and leaned into him. His murmured words against my ear made me shiver slightly. I put my arms over his, to hold him to me. I wished I could feel the moonlight like he did. I wondered if it was the same kind of feeling as sunlight on cool day.

“Thank you,” I said when he finished translating his song. I smiled and turned my face to him but I couldn’t see him in my position. “And thank you for letting me be here with you tonight.”

"I'm glad I get to spend it with someone. A fullmoon is a cause for celebration. And even if you aren't part of the faith you have been very kind in letting me do it." I leaned to the side so I could meet her gaze with a small grin.

Rina:

I fished my gaze from one eye to the other. I snuggled against him a little more. “Would you maybe teach me a little Elvish?” I asked, leaning my head back on his shoulder.

"I'd be honored to teach you. Though are you wanting my own people's or another race of elf?" I liked holding her like this. It was intimate and comfortable, it made me glad she'd asked to accompany me out like this.

Rina:

I gave a small laugh. “Yours of course. I want to understand the things you say.” I reached up to touch his face, gently caressing his jawline up to his pointed ear.

I shivered as she traced my jaw and brushed against my ear. "I wanted to be sure." Leaning my lips close to her ear I murmured softly, "You are my moonlight." I followed it up by translating it.

Rina:

I mindlessly played with his ear while he spoke to me. I repeated the words back to him. It took me a few tries to get the pronunciation correct. Still I didn’t think it sounded as good as when he spoke it. I urged him to teach me more. I loved the way he spoke it, and the soft hum I could feel in his chest.

I coached her through a few more phrases, little sayings that one would say to someone they cared about before I went through more generalized words. Please, Thank you, Hello, Goodbye. I explained that I'd try sitting her down and starting from the basics some other time that it would take far longer than the moon would allow for me to teach her everything. But I enjoyed every second of it.

Rina:

I nodded. I should have asked a long time ago to learn his language. I didn’t know why it hadn’t occurred to me before now. We were quiet for a moment, looking up at the moon. “I wish I could feel the light like you do,” I said softly.

"Few feel moonlight like my people, and then those of us who have sacrificed for the lines feel even more."  I searched for a way to describe it.  "It's....not like the sun.  It is not warm or burning like fire.  It's cool like water or rain.  It feels like it leaves a charge on your skin, the moment before you take off sprinting."  I smiled faintly as I gazed up at the sky, "It's easier to feel when there isn't anything between you and it."

Rina:

“I could try…” I said softly. I didn’t think I would be able to feel it, but it seemed only fair to join him in his state. I eased myself out of his lap and gradually shed my clothing. Instead of crawling back in his lap, I laid down on the two cloaks and rested my head on his thigh.

I got still closed my eyes trying to see if I could feel anything I hadn’t before. “Is there anything else I should be doing?” I asked.

I couldn't help but admire her body while an amused smile curved my lips. I was reminded of my people during full moons. We weren't a promiscuous race but we weren't prudish either. Often couples would use the moon as times of physical love. And so too were relationships started during the same time. We believed in being nude to be close to the moon and feel it's light. But we also believed that it was better to hide nothing during out prayers. As such the custom had come to be. Now that I was with someone I cared deeply for I couldn't help but understand why some did such things during the full moon. The light hid nothing from my eyes, and I traced each curve of her body as she settled back down upon the cloaks.

"Let your thoughts go, breath deeply. You don't have to pray, but just reach out with your mind and let go."

Rina:

I did as he said, letting my thoughts go. I took in deep breaths and let them go slowly. I tired to reach out and feel something, but I was more aware of him than anything else. I stayed that way for several quiet minutes before opening my eyes to look at him.

I met her gaze when she opened her eyes. It hadn't been the moon to captivate me for the entire time she'd been laying there. My thoughts had been wandering, of the times we'd been in similar states of dress. "You are beautiful." I repeated it first in my language then in hers.

Rina:

A small electrical current went through me at his words. I smiled and reached up to touch his face. “I’m yours Savien,” I whispered.

I returned her smile and set my own hand on her ribs. "As am I yours Rina." I bent then, hunching awkwardly until I could bring my lips to her own in a gentle kiss.

After she dozed off I simply held her, gently stroking her back while I alternated between gazing up at the moon and her. My lips had remained curled into a smile for a while now and I had no intention of letting it go. I was...happy. Incredibly so. Tonight had been better than I could have hoped for.

I didn't doze off, but I remained where I was until she started to stir in the morning.

Rina:

I woke up with the sun already peaking through the trees.  I hid my face in his chest for a moment, snuggling closer.  After my eyes adjusted to the light through the curtain of my hair, I peaked up at him with a small, sleepy smile.

I smiled back at her, reaching out to gently brush the hair from her face. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?" Neither of us were clothed yet, but the morning was warm, and with us snuggled together I had little need for any cover.
