Beyond the Castle, part one. (Two person.)

Ario:

I looked at the door in surprise. "Well that is convienient." I said flashing her a grin. "Last chance to go back" I said softer.

Araline:

“I am not going back.” I told him that gazed into the dark. “Do you think you could make another light?” I asked taking the horse reins from him and pulling them off then moving to the saddle.

Ario:

I took one of two actual torches that I had. I lit it the same way I had lit my makeshift one. "Done."

Araline:

I smiled. “Perfect.” I said and I removed the saddle off the second horse. They looked confused as to why I was doing that. “Go on, some one will find you.” I said soothingly pushing them.

Ario:

I watched the horses walk away and then looked back at Araline. "You ready?"

Araline:

I took a deep breath then nodded. “Yes, I am.” I said and walked through the door. I could see I was a small room rather than a tunnel which I had been expecting. My stomach sank when I saw the ever lasting spiral of stairs going up.

Ario:

I looked at the stairs and smiled. "At least its not a horse." I said cheefully.

Araline:

“Lucky you.” I said dully, I wasn't afraid of heights but I didn't like the thought of falling, and the further up I went the more likely that was. I took a breath and started up the stairs. “It is going to be a long night.”

Ario:

I followed her, wondering what was bothering her. She couldn't be afraid of hights could she? I had no idea what she was afraid of really.

Araline:

My hand was glued to the old railing as we climbed, it wasn't taking as long as I thought it would, but is was tedious.

Ario:

I kept behind Araline, in case she slipped, or something went wrong. I was feeling an inclination to help her right now.

Araline:

“Yuck.” I said making a face as I saw the spider webs along the walls lit by the fire light. I yanked my hand back from the railing and walked in the center for fear of touching the maker of the webs.

Ario:

I stayed where I was, but focused on Araline, I was wondering if she was ok or not. The continues spiral was getting me a bit dizzy.

Araline:

The stairs ended abruptly and opened up onto wide open flat stone. We were at the very to of the wall. I looked out over the castle making out a few details then turned to the other side. All I could see was black, a few shapes but I couldn't begin to guess what they were.

Ario:

"So what now?" I asked looking around confused. The torch still had a long time before it would die out, so I wasn't worried about that.

Araline:

I hesitated. “Maybe we should stay up here until it is light, just so we can better see what is out there.” I suggested.

Ario:

"Good idea." I said setting my pack down. I stretched a moment before asking. "Do you want the torch on, or can I douse it?"

Araline:

“Douse it.” I said with a yawn and settled down onto the cold stone. I wrapped my cloak tightly around myself and put my bag under my head for a pillow.

Ario:

I doused the light, leaving it out to dry for the morning. I laid down like Araline and curled up a bit closing my eyes.

Araline:

It was odd lying out side with Ario next to me but I had been awake for a long time I was exhausted. My eyes fluttered closed and I was fast asleep.

Ario:

I opened my eyes after a gust of wind blew across us. I dug into my pack and pulling out a blanket I covered Araline with it before curling up again and slipping off to sleep.

Araline:

I woke up in the morning with the light, disoriented until I looked out to see the castle city lit up by the morning sun. I got to my knees and turned slowly to look out over the other side. It was a sea of green, millions of treas as far as I could see. I moved over next to Ario and lightly shook his shoulder pulling a blanket around myself that I hadn't known was there.

Ario:

I opened my eyes and blinked up at Araline sleepily. "Wha...?" I asked sleepily. I yawned and stretched on the ground before sitting up.

Araline:

I smiled at him. “There isn't nothing out there.” I said while getting to my feet.

Ario:

"You woke me up to tell me that?" I complained flopping onto my back again. I got to my feet a few moments later standing next to her to look at what she was looking at.
