The Creation of the Perfect Assassins

Kyle:

I injected in in her arm quickly then squeezed her shoulder lightly. "Just rest, I'll be just out side your room." I said softly then stood up and motioned for Lexi to follow me.  

Lexi gulped, ready to be hit or yelled at as she followed Kyle outside the room and closed the door behind her.

Kyle:

"How did you find us?" I asked her, not unkindly but a bit reserved. "We waited for you to come back, we didn't think you'd be able to find us once we left. And I- well. I didn't know what happened to you, Krissy was distraught."

"I searched your last name and found a bazillion people with the same name so...I was just going to go to every single one of their houses until one of them turned out to be a relative," Lexi admitted, shrugging slightly. "And this one was closest so I came here."

Kyle:

"And were you all this time? What made you suddenly try to find us now?" I asked watching her

"It hasn't been that long," Lexi made a face. "And I'm prone to disappear at times."

Kyle:

"It was over a month, or two, I haven't been keeping track, but you were gone a while. And what you just expect to be able to come back to us?" I demanded.

"I didn't know that apparently leaving and coming back was such a crime," Lexi glared right back at Kyle, demanding to know why. "Why? Huh? Why is it such a big deal? I'm a thirteen-year-ol...wait, i'm fourteen now. I'm a fourteen-year-old kid trying to spend time and check on my only friend. Is that OKAY with you?!"

Kyle:

I frowned at her and leaned against the wall. "I don't like loose ties, Lexi. You knew that when you first came with us. It worries me that you just disappeared then found us again so easily." I admitted.

"I told you, I looked up your last name and found one near me with the same last name so I tried here. That's the only way I found you. If I didn't know your last name, I never would've..." Lexi sighed, running a hand through her hair.

Kyle:

I sighed too. "It's suspicious though." I told her. I wasn't going to make her leave and I would take her with us if that was what Krissy wanted but I couldn't help not trusting her as much as I had before.

"You're suspicious. The way you act. If I didn't know any better, I'd assume you were gonna kill me in my sleep," Lexi shot back.

Kyle:

"I'm not the one who disappeared then miraculously showed back up and is keeping secrets." I said

"I'm not keeping secrets. You're just not asking the right questions. And maybe, just maybe I didn't leave of my own accord. Maybe I was kidnapped. Ever think of that, wise guy?" Lexi growled, storming away from him.

Kyle:

"They saw you ride away on a bike. You think I'm going to believe that you were kidnapped?" I called after.

Lexi turned and glared at him. "You don't know s*** that happened. And don't pretend like you do," she growled, a tear rolling down her cheek. She turned and stormed outside into the backyard, climbing the tree and sititng there, far from the ground where Kyle wouldn't be able to reach her if he chose to go after her.

Kyle:

I hit the wall lightly and made my way to the kitchen grabbing some thing from the fridge and putting it in the microwave. I didn't know what to think of the girl. I knew Krissy would want her to stay, and I did too to a degree, but she was hiding things, and it worried me.

Lexi sat in the tree until after night fell. Her stomach grumbled angrily at her and she ignored it. She didn't want to go down and risk running into Kyle again.

Kyle:

I was laying on the couch in the study when I heard a small tap at the door. "Kyle?" Krissy's soft voice penetrated the silence. "Yeah," She came in and shuffled over to me sitting next to me. "You look better." She smiled. "I feel better, the shot makes it all feel better, I can breath now." She leaned against me. "Where is Lexi?" "I don't know." "She left?" She looked up at me frowning.

Lexi sighed when the grumbling wouldn't stop. She'd have to eat something. She hopped down from the tree and walked inside, wandering into the kitchen, making a bunch of noise, not on purpose but it wasn't like she was TRYING to be super duper quiet. She grabbed an apple from the fridge and sat on the counter, eating it.

"I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you, my dear, I take it you are a friend of my niece?" A voice said from the door way.

Lexi hopped off the counter, in a fighting stance already as she glared at the doorway. "Who are you?" she demanded.

"Well for one, this is my house, I was curious as to who you were.  But I am Kris." he said watching her curiously. 

Lexi slowly stood into a normal position. "Sorry, um, Kris. I'm Lexi. Krissy's friend."

Kris held a hand out.  "Its a pleasure to meet you Lexi, I've never my a friend of my niece before."
