The Creation of the Perfect Assassins

"I'm sure. But when isn't he furious?" Lexi replied, wincing at the thought of him seeing her after disappearing for three months.

Krissy:

I smiled slightly. "Did you contact you then? I didn't think he was ever going to try.." I said and coughed again. "Where were you?"

"Uh... Five minutes away actually. I took a taxi here," Lexi replied, leaving the whole contacting thing out. Kyle hadn't contacted her, she doubted he had even looked for her.

Krissy:

"What?" I asked confused by what she said. "I meant, like, where did you go?"

"Oh, um... I had a lead on my brother," Lexi explained. "One of my contacts gotta hold of me...Literally."

Krissy:

"Oh," I said softly closing my eyes for a moment.

"Yeah," Lexi said, looking out the window, wondering when Kyle would get back. She wanted to face him then so she wouldn't have to later.

Krissy:

I drew in a soft breath and it set me into another coughing fit. Once it was finished I pulled back to see spots of blood on my pillow.

"You're gonna be okay," Lexi whispered worriedly, especially when she saw the blood. "Where's your phone? I'll call Kyle and see if he's close."

Krissy:

"It's the desk." I rasped nodding to the desk

Lexi checked the desk and picked up the phone, finding Kyle's number and dialing it.

Kyle:

"Krissy? Are you okay? Why are you calling?" I asked answering the phone.

"Kyle. I'm really worried. She's coughing up blood. How far away are you?" Lexi demanded, not bothering to offer an explanation.

Kyle:

"What the hell? Who is this?" I demanded heading back to my car.

"It's Lexi. Who else would this be?" Lexi demanded angrily. "How far away are you?"

Kyle:

I blinked pausing just before I climbed into my car. "Lexi? How-? I'm about an hour out."

"Good. Drive as fast as you can. I'm really worried," Lexi replied, keeping quiet so Krissy couldn't hear.

Kyle:

"I'll go as fast as I can. How is she doing?" I asked.

"She seemed fine for a moment. She's whispering but she just coughed some blood on her pillow. Kyle, the last person I saw cough blood died," Lexi said, just loud enough for him to hear but so soft that Krissy couldn't hear but a dull mumble.

Kyle:

"She is not going to die." I said firmly. "I've got what she needs."

"Good. Then hurry and get your ass over here," Lexi growled.

Kyle:

Once I was on a straight stretch of road I floored it the odometer going past 120. I made it back to my uncles in less than half an hour and immediately went to Krissy's room.

Lexi sat on the bed near Krissy, lightly rubbing her back. She looked up, seeing Kyle and nodded to him before looking back at Krissy. She couldn't gauge how mad he was at her disappearing, nor if he cared that she was alive or not.

Kyle:

"Kyle." Krissy whispered smiling softly. I sat down next to Lexi and put a hand on my sisters forehead. "How're you holding in there?" I asked softly. "I'm better now that you and Lexi are both here." I smiled at her and pulled a bottle and an needle out of the back pack I brought in. "I'm going to have to give you an injection okay?" She nodded and stuck her arm out.

Lexi involuntarily winced and turned away when she saw the needle. She had just had several injections not too long ago and the little dots were still visible on her arms.
