Perfect Assassins

"You're welcome," Lexi replied, looking away but she did notice the white scars.

Ebony:

The clothes fit me rather well, I was surprised to find out, and it felt much better to be in warm clothes now. I turned to look at Lexi and asked. "Well, how do I look?"

Lexi looked up and grinned. "Much better. But we might need to run a brush through your hair." she mused, picking a hairbrush up off the table and handing it to Ebony.

I took the brush and began to brush my hair. It was long enough to reach my shoulderblades.

"We might need to cut your hair soon," Lexi said, smiling as she played with her shoulder-length hair.

I nodded and smiled shyly at her. "I don't really have anything beyond the clothes I came in with."

"We'll fix that," Lexi smiled. "I'll take you to a hairdresser once we get Krissy and Michael back."

I nodded, unsure who those two were. "A....are you really my sister?" I asked her softly.

"Yeah. I wish my brother was here with the proof but yeah, you're my sister. You're my twin actually. We were separated at birth and my dad gave you to some bad people for money. He wasn't really a nice guy anyway," Lexi made a face. "He killed our mom."

I blinked at her and let the info sink in. I had a twin, my dad had sold me, and my mom was killed by my dad.

"And...well, you might as well know this too. Our brother Jake ran away from home right before mom died and then dad disappeared. That was how I became an assassin and met Krissy and Kyle. I was later sold into slavery."

I looked at her wide eyed. "W-what? S-so what d-does that make m-me?" I asked her worriedly.

"My twin. It doesn't make you anything. We're fraternal, not identical so when they come after me again, they won't hurt you," Lexi said reassuringly. "But...I don't know. I didn't know much about you before I met you. I'll ask Michael. He knew you then."

I nodded and chewed on my lip. "Are all of you assassins?" I asked my eyes flicking towards the door.

"Uh... Yeah...pretty much," Lexi shrugged. "Well, used to be. Most of us don't get hired anymore."

I bit my lip and nodded. I suddenly felt weak and useless. They all had skills but I didn't remember how to do anything.

I waited ofr them to return

Lexi shrugged. "Come on. Let's head out to the living room before the others assume that someone killed us."

I nodded and followed Lexi out, I felt shy going back to being with the others. So once I was out there, I shuffled my feet shyly, looking down at my tanktop and pants.

"Are you hungry?" Lexi asked Ebony.

I nodded look back up at Lexi. I was hungry, and it would feel good to get away from so many eyes.

Lexi pulled her into the kitchen where some left over pancakes were. "Eat whatever you can find."

I grabbed myself a pancake and slowly started eating it.

Lexi sat on the counter with her feet swinging when her phone buzzed in her back pocket. She checked the email and frowned. "I got a job? Now? Really? Don't they know that I'm still on vacation?"
