Talon:

I explained quietly what I had gotten Dorian to agree on. "The choice is yours however if he will be a physical protector of you. I can have Calan make a binding oath over him. I gave my word to him about the library even if you chose not to accept. If you don't accept then he will be kept under watch, far from you." My eyes softened and I smiled at her, "Wren changed and tried to kill him for you, you know. The girl likes you a lot, you will have a friend for a long, long time."

Maleen:

I looked at him wide eyed then back to Dorian as he gently took me hand. “I swear on my honor that I will protect you for as long as I am in your company.” He said. My hand seemed to heat up at his words and I pulled it back. I glanced to Talon, then back. “Thank you.” I managed to whisper.

Talon:

"Now that, that is done. You might want to go check on Wren. She had an incident..." I trailed off and touched the hole in the front of my armor to give Maleen an example.

Maleen:

My worries for Wren out weighted the desire to ask him what happened. One brief hesitation, then I was gone. I looked for her where our tent had been but it was taken down. Nearly everything was packed up now. First I spotted Rina, standing in the shade of a tree, then I saw Wren laying on the ground. I rushed to her and knelt beside her.
“What happened?” I asked Rina anxiously. She knelt down and explained to me what had happened.

Wren:

I blinked my eyes open when I heard Rina's voice. It took a little bit for my eyes to focus, and once I did my eyes searched around till they stopped on Maleen and Rina's faces. I slowly uncurled from my spot only to be distracted by the wrapped bundle I had been hugging. I let my eyes roam over it for a moment in confusion. It looked like a long stick, but with a cloth wrapped hilt. And as I looked at it closer I saw that it was wrapped in the same cloth all the way down it.

Maleen:

“How are you feeling?” I asked Wren, gently touching her cheek. “Talon said you tried to kill Dorian because of me. And you were fighting Talon. And that you nearly killed him.” I said quietly, my voice worried.

Wren:

"He hurt you...and I just got so angry...everything was so fuzzy during that time...I became an archangel. I don't know how Talon could even fight me...I have seen Michael, Gabriel, heck even Raphael fight off greater demons..." A worried look came to my eyes as I quieted. After a time I shook my head, "I think that perhaps if Rina hadn't been there then Talon would have been fine...he took one of her daggers for me...and my sword for her..." I looked across the camp where Talon was working his way out of his chest plate. "How strong is he?"

Rina:

I scowled when she said that he would have been just fine if I hadn’t been there. It seemed to me that he would have been just fine, had Wren not lost control.
Leaning against the tree, shifting uncomfortably.

Maleen:

“He must be pretty strong to be able to fight an angel and not lose.” I said softly as I stroked her cheek absently.

Wren:

I nodded, getting just a little distracted by her stroking my cheek. I looked up at Maleen through my lashes, my eyes searching her face.

Maleen:

I blushed a little and pulled my hand back. With a quick glance, I saw that Rina was watching us.
“How are you feeling now? Are you still weak from the fight?” I asked Wren. My hands were neatly folded together in my lap.

Wren:

I sat up slowly and gave a slow stretch, "I haven't tried walking yet, but I can sit up at least." I replied though I was swaying just a little bit.

Maleen:

Getting to my feet, I held my hands out to help her get up. “I’ll support you if you’re too weak.” I told her just as I felt a hand on my shoulder.
“Let me.” Dorian said kindly. Rina was quick to move her hand to the hilt of her sword.
“No, no. Rina, it’s okay. He’s here to protect me. Talon made a deal with him.” I explained quickly. I didn’t mention that I didn’t feel any negativity from him.

Dorian:

I nodded to Rina calmly then held a hand out to help the girl up. “I spoke to someone about letting you three ride in the back of a wagon.” I told them.

I smiled softly at Maleen then I gasped as I looked at the man. My eyes were wide and I felt a conflicting wash of emotions. The simmering anger was back but at the same was embarrassment for being angry enough want to hurt him.

Dorian:

“Don’t fret, I’m not here to hurt anyone, not anymore. I’ll be protecting Maleen for the time being.” I explained to the girl. “Let me help you.”

I considered for a moment then nodded slowly. I set my hand in his with a light grip, too weak to really help with any more.

Dorian:

I pulled her up to her feet and moved and arm around her waist to support her. “Can you walk with my help or do I need to carry you?” I asked her caringly. I couldn’t explain why, but something abnout her made me want to protect her and keep her safe.

Wren:

I followed Rina's gaze and my eyes softened. I scooted my chair over and slipped my arms around Maleen to hug her gently. "Thank you Maleen." I murmured softly to her.

Maleen:

I felt the worry drain away for a moment as Wren hugged me unexpectedly. I couldn't have a heavy heart when she was hugging me like this.

I could feel her relax slightly and I smiled, hugging a bit tighter. "I really mean it. You make me happy Maleen."
