Perfect School

"Mmm." She crossed her legs under the table. "I lack such things and yet you've been staring at my cleavage all night. Are you sure you know what you want?"

Jonah:

I smirked. “I know exactly what I want.” I answered her, looking her straight in the eyes. “That has nothing to do with what I enjoy looking at.”

"That's a bold statement. But I know you've always been good at knowing what you want." I replied as I met his gaze. I could guess what he wanted, but ultimately it wasn't my ability to give freely. "What do you think school will be like after this?" I changed the subject willingly with only a blink as I did so.

Jonah:

I straightened in my seat. “I think it will be boring. It will be slow paced compared to this. But it will be nice to get back to our evening practice and practice with the team. I already have some changes I want to make, and some ideas from this competition that I want to use with them.” I said thinking about our team.

"The team might need extra work regardless. Have you left any instructions with them to work on while you are away?" I asked him with a raised brow. I leaned forward a bit, head tilting a tinch.

Jonah:

I nodded. “I have. Kyra and Emily are working with the guys on things they still haven't gotten, I expect them to be up to speed when we return, because we will be moving on and not slowing down for a while. The group competition is in a couple weeks, I know we will be the best, but I want to leave no room for surprises.”

"Can Paublo keep up? He is slow to learn, slower to action, and not suited for this line of work. The only thing he has going for him is that monstrous strength of his." I said with an arched brow.

Jonah:

“I have my reasons for picking the team I did, Kira, I know it's not the one you would have. I have faith in Paublo, sure he wont ever be a great assassin, but he does have some advantages. Strength is not something to sneer at, and he has truckloads of it.” I answered. Another reason he was on my team was that he was a faithful friend, something I prized over other talents.

"I don't understand it. But you are the team leader. It is not my call." I replied with another shrug. I didn't get it, but it still wasn't my choice and I'd simply deal with the consequences.

Jonah:

I let the conversation end and sat in a comfortable silence for a little while. “I won the competition.” I said finally with a pleased smile. “Not the main one, I mean between the two of us. The game you suggested.”

"You did. Four points to two. The prize is yours to do with as you will Jonah." I slowly let my hands fall back to my lap, gaze focusing on the lights around us like miniature stars.

Jonah:

“I think I will hold onto it for now. Wait for when I need a favor if you don't mind.” I said. At the time I could come up with nothing worthwhile to use my prize on.

"It's yours to do as you wish when you wish Jonah." I shrugged, "You never have to use it if it pleases you to do such. No matter what it is I will do everything in my ability to accomplish your request when you do use it."

Jonah:

“Oh have no doubt, I will use it.” I commented. “But I won't ever ask for something I know you wouldn't do.” I assured her.

"That is your choice." I replied softly before carefully standing. "Shall we head back?" Without waiting to see if he would follow I made my way back to the cabin. I showered again, scrubbing the makeup from my body and trying to get the blonde from my hair to little avail. I slept peacefully that night, ready for our early flight in the morning.

Jonah:

Trip back I took the window again, enjoying the view just as much as the first plane. I studied the morning Kira when we first sat down. “I'm not into the blond look, I've decided.” I informed her with out her ever needing to ask my opinion. Emily was a strawberry blond. “It makes you look bitchy.”

"It will take a while before my color starts to come back in. But I will probably dye my hair or something. It depends." I shrugged emotionless as ever. The flight was long enough that I had time to fix my emotions back into place. And I spent it all working on that.

Jonah:

layover was rather long due to plane malfunctions. I wondered the airport alone as Kira seemed to be caught up in the confines of her mind. I enjoyed studying the people, judging them as best I could then watching them to confirm my predictions.

By the time our second flight landed, it was late, and later yet when we returned to the school. “Back at last.” I commented with a sigh as we walked down the dark, silent halls.

"Almost miss it. It's been the longest I have ever remained in one place." I replied as I carried my bag in one hand. I didn't think things would have changed in a week, but the next day was sure to be interesting.

Jonah:

“Same for me. Though I think I will actually miss the resort” We rounded the corner to the common room that lead to our separate dorm hallways. It was all dark as students had already gone to their rooms for the night. Someone stood up from the corner alcove. “That took- oh. Jonah.” The shape of body then the voice was unmistakable. Emily was waiting up.

She walked closer, on her face were an odd mix of emotions; surprise, annoyance, shame, and disgust upon seeing Kira. “I didn't know when you would be back.” She said coolly when she stood directly in front of me. She didn't move to embrace me.

I only briefly raised an eyebrow to Emily being here and her words. "Good night Jonah. Emily." I nodded to her, still having no real emotion about her before I started to slowly make my way down the girl's hallway. I paused partway down, glancing over my shoulder with a curious expression before shrugging and continuing on.

Jonah:

I nodded to Kira then stepped up to Emily. “It was a busy week.” I said with a shrug. I set my bag on the floor before pulling her into a hug. Her hair had a different scent. Next I lifted her face to see it up close. Still shame, and doubt, and anxiety now. I felt her pulse with a finger under her chin: quick. My face was close to hers, but I didn't move the last inch. She obliged and kissed me, with a little too much forced enthusiasm.

I spent a few minutes with her. I hears footsteps in the hallway but no one entered the common room. I sent her to bed then telling her I was tired form traveling. I waited for her to go all the way to her room, and sat alone in a chair. After ten minutes when no one came in, I went to my own room, thinking over the information.

Paublo:

I waited for Jonah to leave his room, a grin on my lips. Having my best friend and leader back was a highlight for me. If nothing else I would be free from the hellish training and judgement from Emily. Being with Kyra was great, and I'd come to learn more about her brother. Andrew was quiet but pretty cool all things considered. Things would be back to normal once Jonah was back though.

Jonah:

I dressed in the morning still thinking about the previous night. I knew what was going on, it was hard to miss, and I had an almost certain idea of who else was involved. It would only take a moment in a room together to confirm it.

I walked out to find Paublo waiting. “Hey,” I said, clapping him on the shoulder and putting on a smile.

"Welcome back minho Amigo! Tell me how was the competition thing!" I stood with a grin, returning the shoulder clap. "Come on, I'm starving too."
