Why Me? (reserved)

I shrugged a little, frowning. "I told my father..."

I nodded. "How did he take it?" I asked.

"Better than I thought, but I'm still nervous"

I nodded gently hugging her. "I understand."

I kissed his cheek, hugging him back.

I smiled. "I'm happy to be with you."

I smiled, hugging him more.

I held her close. I saw a messanger riding on horse swiftly going into the palace. I frowned wondering why he was in such a hurry.

I frowned, looking at te man. "We should go..."

I nodded and held her hand going inside. The messenger was waiting to see the king

I frowned, walking to the messenger. "My father will be with you in a moment. Is there anything I may help you with?"

He bowed to her. "They have broken through. A and their coming this way." He said.

I frowned, nodding. "I will let him see you immediately. Please follow me." I said, walking into the throne room. "Father, I have news..." I bowed my head.

I stood guard as her father looked up in the middle of a talk. "My dear I'm almost done please wait just a moment."

"But father, the enemy-" I began.

He looked up. "What about them?" He asked cutting her off.

"They've broken through!" I shouted, frowning more. "This messenger has been waitng for a while to tell you..."

His face went white. "How far are they?" He asked the messenger. "Their about an hours ride away." The king paled more. "Lock down the castle." He said.

I frowned more, my shoulders shaking. "Father- I'm scared..."

He went to her and hugged her. "Its alright sweety. I won't let anything happen to you." He said. I stayed near by ready to protect.

I rubbed my eyes, frowning. "What are we going to do?

"We are going to go underground." He said. "My dear go get anything from your room that you want to keep." He said. I looked at her.

"Yes father." I nodded, hurrying to my room.

I was about to follow when the king pulled me aside and quietly gave me a command. I nodded. I knew I had to obay him. And that it would be best for everyone.

I gathered a few things from my room in a small bag, things from my other home. I soon returned back down to the throne room.
