Black Widow (Ethan and me YAY)

"That's a great idea," Elise agreed, steering them to the clothes shop. "Essential winter clothing first, food, and then the book store." She grinned at him, grabbing his hand. "It'll be fun. I've never been to this town before." It really was a beautiful place with cobblestone streets and adorable little shops lining the roads. Horse-drawn carriages rumbled by with men and women dressed in gorgeous gowns and suits with monocles and hats. It really was a sight.

"We seem to stick out like a sore thumb" Will comments, seeing all the fancy dressed people occupating the town. They look like they wore rags in comparison. Not a big deal though, he supposed. He followed where she drug him, not minding being led around. He saw her as the head of the duo, as she was more qualified. She was also a great teacher, she never got frustrated with his magic learning. Best teacher he had in a while

Elise was excited to try on the adorable winter dress she found. It was blue to match her eyes. She went into the small dressing area and came out in stockings, cute brown boots that were also super sturdy for running and fighting, a comfortable but thick blue dress and a brown overcoat for the extra cold weather coming up. She could easily stash so many weapons as well. "How do I look?" she asked. She also wore a locket that she had taken out from under her undershirt. A gorgeous white gold circle with ivy detailing.

Will was looking around for some thicker material shirts and something he could wear in addition to jeans to keep warm once the temperatures started dropping. He glances up when Elise came back out. His eyes widen just slightly, she looked adorable, almost too cute. He brushes the thought from his mind, coughing and running a hand through his hair, "you look good. Stylish and practicle." He says with a small smile, returning to the rack of clothes he was glancing over, more to try and stop staring more than anything

She giggled and danced around, flaunting her outfit in front of the mirror for a moment. "My, you look like royalty, darling!" the adorable old lady shopkeeper clapped her hands together and cooed over her for a few minutes. Elise paid for her new threads and recycled her old stuff to the lady. "Did you find anything you like?" she asked, sauntering over to Will.

"I mean other than some simple thicker clothes. Wool and such. not really." He says grabbing a few pieces of clothing and throwing them over his shoulder while he continues looking. "nothing extravagant. But it will be warm." He says grabbing a few others and standing up, turning to look at her. "I think im ready." He says paying for the clothes, "where to next?"

"We should get some food that we can take with us, like salt for meats and some bread and fruits for the road then the bookstore for some books," Elise smiled at him, walking outside. Clouds had gathered overhead and it started to drizzle. Nothing crazy just a little dribble here and there. "But we don't have long. We should hurry."

Will nodded in agreement. He wasnt a huge fan of rain, looks like a storm is coming in from the west. "Alright. Food market and then books, as long as it doesnt start to pour." He says, looking around for the direction of the markets, pointing it out once he found a sign. They make their way to the market, which was starting to empty out because of the on coming rain. "no lines at least"

"Nope, this'll be quick." Elise rushed them through the market so they could make it to the bookstore on time. But upon entering, Elise realized that it was an underground witch shop. Crystal were displayed behind a case of glass and different leather bound books and journals slumped on shelves and chairs alike. The whole shop smelled of sage and incense. "Perfect. We should find some good books here. Listen very carefully and find the one that's calling you."

Once they found their way into the witch shop, Will got a bit more excited, looking around and seeing so many books and journals over magic. He didnt see a shop keeper, which was a little weird, but whatever. "Alright, Ill take a look around." he says smiling at Elise before going to wander around the shop.

There were so many books, and genres even. Potions, Spells, healing, etc. So much information. The shop opened up into another section that was down a few more steps. he didnt really know what she meant about 'finding the one that was calling to him' at first, until he entered that area. His eyes scanned a shelf of dark books, bound in old leather, no titles or anything. He ran his finger along the spines until one caught his eye. He pulled the book out and want over to a chair, opening the first page. It was very old. Very. Very old. the more he looked at the binding the less like leather it looked. The text was also not in a language he understood. But it was inviting, if not foreboding.

Elise wandered the shop, searching for a book for herself. She picked up one on healing herbs if only to brush up on her knowledge before they left the village, then she could trade it in for something else on the way out. She hummed, thumping through the titles of the other books before turning to go pay. She pulled out a leather pouch full of strange gold that had a stamp of a pentagram on one side and the Tree of Life on the other. She placed a few on the counter and they properly vanished with a little bell sound. She door unlocked itself after the payment was made, curiously Elise hadn't heard it lock.

She turned, noticing that Will had wandered off. "Will?" she called, going in search of him.

His face twisted in a small look of confusion as he continued reading through the words, it was like the words started translating as he read through. There were passages talking of death, commanding armies of the dead, mind control spells, demon summoning. He wanted to put the book down but he found that he couldnt, it was like it was sucking him up. He had tunnel vision, continuing to scan through

Elise pushed through the back curtain t find Will holding a dark evil book, radiating negative energy. "Will!" She yelled, rushing forward and closing the book in his hands, forcing it to stay closed. "Hey! No, you can't have this one. This one's not okay!" She stared into his eyes, praying he wasn't too sucked in already.

His eyes and expression were blank momentarilly after she closed the book. After a brief second he blinked a few times and shook his head, getting the cobwebs out and regaining conciousness. "Woah, shit." He mutters dropping the book to the floor and bringing his hands to his head. He had a splitting headache now. "what the hell was that?" He asked through gritted teeth. He couldnt remember much from what he had seen, only that it didnt seem good

"You picked up a book with a bad spell on it. I'm not sure what kind either..." Elise kicked the book away and grabbed him by the arm. "Come on. Let's find you a sweet, loving spellbook to learn from and we'll get you some rest at the inn." She started steering him towards the exit, gently and slowly like a sheepdog to its sheep.

He was still a bit woozy as she ushered him away from the book. "bad spell? I'd say so," He mutters, walking out of the store and taking a deep breath, trying to regain focus. "I think i can go without getting a book today, maybe we can grab one tomorrow after we head out. I dont feel too good." He says, shaking his head. Some people of the town were giving funny looks at him as they passed by, hurriedly walking to get away from the coming rain.

Elise nodded, ushering him quickly to the inn to get him into bed. "Are you ok? Do you need me to make you soup? Is your head pounding?" She doted on him like a mother hen, especially once he was tucked into one of the comfy inn beds. "Are you feeling any better? Would you like anything? Water?"

She felt responsible. Here, she was, thinking she could teach this kid everything and then he went and found a dark magic book and hurt himself.

He held up a hand, smiling a little and looking at her. "Elise, im fine. Honest. Just a little woozy, not hungry or anything. Im feeling better now that IM away from whatever that book was doing." He says softly, sitting up against the bed frame. "Although I appreciate the concern. Dont worry about it, it was my fault for messing around in a sectioned off area of the store."

"I mean, you're not wrong but still." Elise sighed, looking at her hands in her lap. "I was worried about you." She looked at him, her eyes big and green and sad. "I have something I need to tell you..."

She pulled out a piece of parchment from her bag and showed it to him. On it, in bold letters, it proclaimed, "MISSING! DEAR PRINCESS ISABELLA OF REMUAIN HAS GONE MISSING!! IF ANY TOWNSFOLK SEES HER OR HEARS WORD OF HER PLEASE REPORT TO THE KNIGHTS IMMEDIATELY!" Below was a handdrawn portrait of Elise. Well, it wasn't Elise exactly. This Elise's eyes in the picture were blue and she had bigger, wavier hair while Elise's hair was shorter and more practical for the work she did.

"Do you remember about seventeen years ago when one of the twin princesses went missing?" she asked carefully, wondering if he'd connect the dots.

He looks at the parchment, trying to think back to then. He couldnt remember too much, but he did recall hearing something about that. "Sort of? I was a lot younger then... That looks a lot like you thou- Oh." He says the pieces coming together in his still defogging brain. "Is that" he starts pointing at the picture "who youre trying to find?"

"Not originally, no." Elise sighed, shaking her head. "I was originally looking for my old master's master. My master was murdered but her master is still around and could teach me a lot more but I have to find her first. She disappeared off the grid about seven years ago." Her green eyes met his and she sat straighter. "My real name is Princess Estalise Lionheart of Renuaim. I was kidnapped at a young age by witches. Eventually, I was rescued by the Black Widow and she took me under her wing. I've been fighting ever since."

"So let me get this straight: You know magic, you're the Black widow, AND youre a princess? Damn thats quite the resumee." Will says, trying to joke around slightly, lightening up the mood. "But actually that is pretty amazing. What do you think the odds are of you finding your masters master? Doubt the trail is warm if its been 7 years." He replies, looking at her, crossing his arms absently

She cracked a smile at his resume joke, but quickly turned serious again.

"You'd be surprised how much residue is leftover, especially from a magical person," Elise explained, thinking hard. It wasn't the easiest thing to explain. "Everyone leaves a footprint, kinda like in the sand at the beach but with magic, I can see that footprint still there, years later after it's been washed away by the sea. It's hard and requires a lot of training and focus to be able to see or even pick up feelings of magical residue." She held her hands in her lap and stared at them, looking over her fingertips.

Well hey, if anyone can do it, you can." Will says reaching out and squeezing her hand softly. "youre obviously no slouch when it comes to magic." He was trying to be helpful, even in a situation where he wasnt. He knows mental state can effect other things like cognitive ability, he was sure magic was no different. "Youll find her"

She smiled at him, sighing softly. "Thank you... I'm worried about my sister though. I have a feeling that something is going down at the palace so looking for her is going to be tricky. It might be better to face that challenge first. What if she was kidnapped by the same people who took me? I don't think she'd be able to handle it...She's been a princess her whole life..I haven't."
