Perfect School

Kyra:

I went to hand her the mug I had prepared for her then sat cross-legged in front of her. "I guess you couldn't sleep much either, what with all the noise," I commented. "Sorry for contributing to that, I just got angry." It was a little awkward to talk about, but when else did we have the chance to gossip?

"If you haven't figured it out by now, I can sleep through most things. But if it seems dangerous I wake up instantly and wont be able to fall back asleep." Gazing into the steaming depths of the cup I swirled the liquid around for a moment as I spoke. Taking a quick sip I brightened a bit as it was made just the way I liked it. "Angry is...understandable I suppose."

Kyra:

"Yeah, I don't like being woken up pointlessly in the middle of the night. Especially not like that. Jonah is an ass." I took a sip of my coffee. I wondered what she thought of the situation. She and Jonah had been close in their own way before, now they hardly looked at each other.

"He is." I agreed amicably. I didn't look at her as I said it, afraid my real views were shown on my face. I was being ignored, almost held in place by his refusal to work with me. I had been improving with him but since he focused on the team or Evelyn more I no longer had someone pushing me to be better.

Taking another sip I finally looked up at her, "I'm sure given the opportunity he likely isn't the only one who would be.....active in the middle of the night." I selected my words with care, but gave away enough to tell her that I knew of her activities while at the school.

Kyra:

My eyebrows went up in surprise at her comment. I looked down at my coffee. "Yeah, I suppose so... What about you? Have you ever...? Uh, I mean, have you ever wanted to be close to someone? We don't exactly have many options..." Kira was never the emotional type. But I knew she did feel things. There was a possibility that there had been something between her and Jonah. They had been alone with one another enough.

"You have better access to someone than I would.". I left that statement as is before shrugging. "Once. After I left I was given to a pair. One guy, one girl. Marie had hired them to pleasure me until I was exhausted. Dressed me up for it too.". I spoke about it like it wasn't important, wasn't anything much. To me it wasn't a huge deal, the ease of which it had happened plus how casual the people closest too me seemed to handle it. Jonah especially but as I was coming to find out so too with Kyra. Both seemed to enjoy it from what I could tell and didnt seem like it was a huge deal to them.

"The girl was the one in charge, she did most of the work. The guy was more for....Flair? Veriety? I'm not sure. Was mostly toys. Seems there was some worry on the male's part about pregnancy. He didn't need to worry it is impossible for me, but still he did. Left most of it to the girls discretion on what to do.". It was all coming out of me almost in a rush. I couldn't help it and my eyes were focused on my coffee and unknown to me my cheeks were a tiny bit pink compared to my usual porcelain skin.

Kyra:

I had been surprised before, but now at her confession I was utterly shocked. “Wow,” I said before I could stop myself. I could never have imagined that Kira would do something like that. But then again, she did do whatever she was told.

I glanced up at her, noticing the faint blush on her cheeks. She felt something while thinking about the event, but she sounded like it was nothing. I frowned a little. I didn’t like the idea of Marie just making her do something like that if Kira didn’t want to.

“How do you feel about that?” I asked her. I didn’t expect to get a response that clearly answered my question. But I also hadn’t expected this kind of bombshell either. I was going to roll with our conversation for as long as I could.

Kira:

Fidgeting with the cup I shrugged. "I-." I faltered a moment, confused as to the chaotic mass welling inside of me. I couldn't just lie and say I didn't feel anything over it. "You and Jonah make it seem so easy, so casual..."

Kyra:

"Well..." I didn't know what to say about it. I couldn't claim that I had loved the teacher at the school, but I had feelings for him, I wanted to be with him. "Did you want to do it?" I asked her. What would I do if she said no? How could I help her out of that? The only person I thought who could help her was Jonah, and I knew I couldn't tell him about it.

I shrugged and downed the rest of my coffee in a few quick gulps. "It wasn't how I thought it would be." The two of them made it seem so casual, and while I had no qualms about showing off my body or changing in front of the others that had been different. My body was just my body and before Jonah had come around I hadn't thought of anything sexual before. But I'd been dressed up. And then handed off to someone paid to deal with me. I didn't like it.

Jonah:

It was unexpected to see the two girls sitting together in the gym when Eve and I walked in. From what I had seen, Kyra had been leaving Kira alone. Now Kyra looked up, but she didn’t give me a look of scorn like I had expected. Her eyes were somewhat pleading, and I could not imagine why.

And the expression on Kira’s face was unsettling. I would have given anything to know what they had been talking about before I came in. Kita’s face was almost similar to when she had gone downstairs last night. She hadn’t even looked my way. Had it truly bothered her what I had done?


Kyra:

I had been frowning when Jonah entered. My previous thought of going to him for help was still in my mind when I glanced up at him. I tried to clear the emotions from my face and turned away.

“Here, I’ll take your cup,” I said quietly, reaching out for her empty one. Mine was still mostly full. I had lost my desire for it.

"Thanks.". I handed over my mug while sliding to a crouch. Turning to the target I began to gather up the knives and slide them away in a roll up sheath. I glanced at Jonah and Evelyn before resuming my task. What could I say?

Kyra:

I tried to be closer with Kira over the next few days. There was a fine line between pestering her and being nice to her so I tried to walk it the best I could. Our conversation had opened a door to build our relationship up again and I was doing my best to do it right this time.

I wasn’t woken up again by Jonah and Evelyn, but I noticed that Kira started sleeping on the couch down stairs.


Jonah:

It was difficult to tell if what I was doing with Eve effected Kira at first. I left the door to their shared bathroom open slightly at night. Then after I found out that Kira was sleeping on the couch. It was obsessive behavior. I knew it. The fact was that Kira was simply more interesting than anything else could be. Even being in bed With Eve didn’t compare.

My exact feelings for Kira were hazy to me. I was angry at her, more angry than I had ever been at her. So I didn’t care if what I was doing was bothering her, I just wanted to know. I wanted to see it for myself. The small hints weren’t enough.

I started training in mornings with Eve during the time Kira usually like to go to the gym. And when That didn’t do it, I started getting more physical with Eve in front of her. Eve had her limits, she wasn’t going to let me do anything, so I was moderated by that. All I had to do was plan it just right.

Kira:

I was slipping a little bit. I was getting tired more easily, and my bed was becoming less and less used as the days went by. I suspected Jonah was doing it on purpose after he started bringing Evelyn around to my morning workouts. But it was confirmed when he started purposefully being physical with Eve right in front of me.

I was struck sometimes by the similarities of what he was doing now, and what he once did with Emily. Once I made that connection I was able to tell truly what he was doing and a bit of why. He was angry with me, wanted to get a rise out of me. It was almost a game. Almost. I had my limits as to what I was willing to deal with. Everyone had quirks, you had to handle them to be effective. This was his. But it was starting to interfere leaving me irritated.

Kyra was almost a balm to that irritation. Since our talk in the gym she'd started coming around again. Occasionally I'd wake up in the morning to find a blanket drawn over me that wasn't there when I went downstairs. I assumed it was her. Jonah was being too methodical with his obsession to risk being near me like that.

I hated this game. But I'd be damned at this point if I didn't keep fighting it.

Jonah:

She was getting tired and it made her slip up. A week and a half after she started sleeping on the couch, and even Eve could tell that she was messing up. She commented on it during training.

After one particularly clumsy move I called out to her, “Kira, go get some rest and come back when you can perform properly.” She wasn’t doing that badly, she managed it better than Kyra did, but I said it all the same. The reaction I wanted was not what I got, and not from who I wanted.

“What?!” Kyra yelled out immediately. “She hasn’t done anything wrong! You’re sending her away for a missed step? Fucking really Jonah?” Her hips cocked to the side and her arms crossed.

“It’s not the level I expect from Kira,” I explained. Everyone had stopped to watch at this point. “If you are going to act that way, you can leave practice with her.”

Her eyes practically lit up with flames. She turned where she was and marched over to Kira. “Not like we’re getting anything out of this session anyway,” She muttered it but it was heard by us all.

Kira:

I frowned as I stopped moving. I'd missed a step and I wasn't pleased with myself over it. I was angry. And as Jonah kicked me out of the session my anger flared up at him. I was originally just mad at myself but removing me from training for a problem caused by his own obsession wasn't fair.

Kyra yelling at him however was the only thing that kept me from whirling on him myself. Letting out a slow breath I walked out with her beside me, not once looking at Jonah. Even then my body language spoke for me, I was angry.

Once outside I moved off into the woods, hoping the forest's shade would help me calm down and process.

Kyra:

“What a fucking ass.” I hissed, still fuming, both on Kira’s part and my own now. “There was not reason for him to do that, it was just a power play. And it’s his fault anyway, making you feel like you have to sleep on the couch,” I went on. She didn’t have to tell me it was because of him that she slept on the couch. I wondered if it gave him too much power to say that it was because of him.

"I can't sleep otherwise, and losing out on sleep is making me make mistakes. If this is training, it's an experience to learn. If not..." I shrugged. "Than he's a fucking ass." I repeated in her words. Finding a comfortable spot to sit down with my back against the tree I sighed and closed my eyes. "He has to make a choice to either focus on me or not too."

Kyra:

I sat down in front of her. “It’s not fair to treat you like this. He shouldn’t be doing this. It’s one thing for him to act like a child outside of training, but during is a different matter.” I wanted to punch his teeth down his throat just for putting her through this.

"It isn't. But he is." Slowly I opened my eyes to look at her. She was furious on my behalf, though the reason why was escaping me. "Why is this bothering you so much? It's my problem."

Kyra:

I frowned. "Because I care about you. I don't want to see you mistreated. And Jonah is an ass anyway. I've always felt like that. Ever since Emily." Emily hadn't been a sweetheart herself, but she had been my friend. And he had ended her life without a moments hesitation. I didn't trust him after that. "He seems to have gotten worse after we came back though. He's intolerable now."

"Our Patron probably did something to him. He was misbehaving then and she wasn't a fan. It was likely her attempt to keep him in line that sparked all this." It was an idea, but not what I truly believed could be the issue.

Kyra:

My lips twisted into a grimace. I hated Marie and while I wasn't the biggest fan of Jonah, I still felt some degree of protectiveness over him. If she was the reason he was acting this way toward Kira, it was just another reason to wish he dead. I didn't say a word, not wanting to alienate Kira by speaking poorly of the woman

I let the silence linger for about a minute before I sighed softly. "We should go to the house and shower." Rolling to my feet I reached down to offer her a hand. "For lunch want to help me make chicken cacciatore. If I remember it has mushrooms, green bellpepers, and onions right?" It was petty I knew but it kind of made me feel better inside.

Kyra:

I took her hand but cocked my head to the side. It took a moment before I realized her meaning. Jonah didn't like mushrooms or peppers. I chuckled and agreed wholeheartedly. I liked this Kira.
