Emily:
I laughed and reached up again, this time to straighten the hat out a little bit. "If this is your payment then you better ask for a raise," I laughed again and shook my head.

"Mmm, all things considered darling. Can't pass up a gift from a beautiful lady.". A slow grin spread across his face for a moment.

Emily:
I put my hands on my hips. "Well if you insist," I said, my laugh trailing off. "Although that accent is a little too good. Did you live in the south of something?" I asked.

I shook my head. " No. Have a buddy who is from the deep south. Had a thick accent that almost hard it hard to understand. But plenty polite and picture perfect cowboy.". As I spoke I tried getting rid of the accent but it simply lightened then remained. Making a slight face I shrugged, "You pick it up after a while then it doesn't quite want to leave."

Emily:
I giggled again and shrugged. "I don't know, I kinda like it," I said, slightly teasing.

"Well. I got used to it before. Can keep it around if ya like.". I drawled again. "But come on, lets go get you ready."

Emily:
I smiled and nodded. "Your sister should be out now, so Im gonna hop in the shower. See you in a few minutes," I said. I headed to my bathroom and quickly washed up.

After she left I went back to the truck and made sure the seats were clean. Seeing they were i pulled myself up into the bed, watching the street and the little life that was here. Soon enough Lexi scrambled to join me, her hair done up in a ponytail and her clothes changed to something fresher.

Emily:
I sped through my shower and to avoid having to dry my hair, I quickly braided it. Then I slipped on a comfortable skirt and a tanktop and met them outside.

Lexi was describing to me all the different people she knew lived on the street, even pointing to houses as they came up. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted Emily and I waved her over. "She is explaining about your neighbors."

Emily:
I walked up and leaned against the car. "Did you tell him about Mr. Walkins?" I asked. "He lives across the street and lets us walk his dog sometimes if he's too tired," I said.

"She said his dog was super fluffy and liked to lick people.". I nudged Lexi go get moving and we both climbed out the back.

Emily:
"He is the fluffiest dog ever," I agreed, helping Lexi climb out of the truck. "So where are we going?" I asked.

"That depends, do you like Chinese food?". I asked while moving to open both doors on the passenger side for them.

Emily:
I smiled at him and hopped into the car. "I do like Chinese food," I said. And I knew Lexi did too.

"There is a stir-fry place that I wanted to take you both too. Pick your own veggies, your starch, meat, sauce and then they cook it for you.". I explained before shutting their doors. Jogging around I hopped in myself and got us on our way.

Emily:
I put on my seatbelt and nodded. "That sounds really cool," I said, turning in the seat to make sure Lexi was buckling herself in.

I had to buckle up at the first stop sign, but a glance in the rear view mirror told me Lexi was buckled up. Taking ti the main streets it took us about twenty minutes go get to the restaurant. For a weekend lunch it wasn't very busy.

Emily:
When he parked the truck, I hopped out and then helped Lexi out. The truck was high off the ground and I didn't want her to fall. "I've lived here my whole life and I've never seen this place," I said.

Hugging onto her as she helped me out. I made sure to keep a good hold on her hand and then took my brothers hand once he came around to join us.

"I only learned of it a few days ago. Cole took me. Great food, and plenty of it.". Michael said as he began to lead us towards the door.

Emily:
I smiled down at Lexi and gave her hand a little squeeze. "Well as long as there is plenty, I'm fine." I said. I was starting to get a little hungry as I hadnt really touched my breakfast. "And uh..." I stopped to giggle. "You dont have to wear that hat in the restaurant if you dont want to," I said, looking at Michael.

"I figure it's like my military cap. Gotta take it with me, but take it off inside.". I gave her a lazy wink over Lexi while she hummed happily at being pulled along.

Emily:
I giggled again and shook my head. "If you say so," I teased. Coming up to the restaurant I grabbed the door and opened it for Lexi. "Hey Lex, do you know how to use chopsticks?" I asked.

"No?" She said carefully as she finally let go of our hands and stepped inside. I reached above Emily to hold the door open for her as well while my other hand pulled off my hat.

Emily:
I smiled at him and walked inside, taking a look at the restaurant. "Neither do I," I said, walking down a small hallway into the main dining area. "It smells incredible in here," I said.
