Saved for Macha

"Nothing.". She lied, already smiling again as she squirted in a generous amount of chocolate syrup. "Just drawing. Had an idea."

Emily:
I smiled, amused at her obvious secret. "Alright then. Can't wait to see whatever it is," I said, ruffling her hair.

I settled down beside Lex, sipping at my coffee. "So how do you want to finish the garage?"

Emily:
"I was just trying to clean up in there and throw some old stuff away," I shrugged. "You dont have to help though, you're a guest." I told him.

"And let two ladies clean up while I just sit around? No thank you. I am more of a gentleman than that." I countered while giving a soft laugh.

Emily:
I laughed and shrugged. "Well if you're offering, I wont turn you away," I said with a smile. "You can help me get the higher stuff since you're tall," I said.

"Ah yes. No more stool climbing for you then." I replied with a nod.

Emily:
I giggled. "I was doing fine until you scared me," I said,

Chuckling I sipped at my coffee again. Raising up one arm I slipped it around the back of Lexi's chair. "I am ready whenever you both are."

Emily:
I nodded and put my empty mug in the sink. "I'm ready. I'll meet you guys in there," I said, heading for the garage again.

The two of us chatted for a few minutes before going and joining her in the garage. Lexi worked on going through boxes while I made sure to do the heavy lifting in getting things down and helping Emily as I could.

Emily:
I was in the middle of going through a box of my grandparents old clothes and found a bunch of old looking hats. I dropped a huge sunhat on Lexi's head and then a cowboy looking one of her brothers.

Lexi:

I burst into giggles at the hat, pulling it off to look at before sticking it right back on. It was big on my head, and sat low on my head. Tipping it back constantly I glanced up at my brother as he got his hat. He only smiled slightly, tipped his hat in the classic cowboy nod to a lady before returning to work as if the hat were the most natural thing in the world.

Emily:
I laughed at Lexi. The hat was comically large on her, but she took it in stride. It was getting a kinda of late in the morning and I knew he couldn't stay all day so I finished up one last box and put my hands on my hips. "Thats enough working for today." I said.

"I feel all grubby." Lexi said while dusting herself off. I had been about to pull out another box but instead pushed it back onto the shelf.

I tipped my hat back a bit and dusted my hands off on my jeans. "Well we did get a fair bit of work done." I wandered to the middle of the room and set my hands on my hips while looking around at what we'd done so far.

Emily:
I smiled and thanked both of them for all their help. "Why don't you go take a shower or something if you feel grubby," I asked, wrapping my arms around her from behind and dropping a kiss on her head.

I smiled as i watched her beam up at Emily. "You both should get cleaned up so I can take you out for lunch."

Lexi instantly was looking at me and she nodded rapidly, "Okay! Showers for all of us then food!"

Emily:
I laughed. "Okay, munchkin, you go first," I said, taking the hat off her head and handing it to her. It was hers now.

Lexi looked from the hat then up at Emily. Turning around she hugged the woman tightly then ran off with her new prize. I chuckled at her energy then turned my gaze to her. "Shall I wait in the living room while you go as well?"

Emily:
"Well, I do want to shower quickly but I don't wanna leave you all by yourself. What kind of a hostess would I be?" I joked.

"I suppose.". Chuckling I pulled off my hat and offered it out to her. "Here, for you."

Emily:
I laughed and took it from him. But then I stepped closer and stood on my tiptoes to place it back on his head. "I think it looks better on you," I told him. "Consider it a gift or consider it me giving you my garbage, since I was gonna throw that out anyway," I laughed.

Reaching a hand up in surprise at her gift I pulled off the hat to look at it. Grinning for a momeng I placed it on my head again with a nod. Taking on a southern drawl i teased with, "Well thank you kindly ma'am."

Emily:
I giggled and gave an exaggerated curtsey. I felt my face heat up a little at the accent. What is it they say about accents? Guys are always hotter when they have them? "I should be thanking you. You helped out a lot today. I should also demand I get to pay for lunch as an extra thank you," I said.

"What kind of gentleman would I be if I didn't pay for the two lovely ladies. I got a good hat, and better company as my payment.". I was falling back on years in drama as i kept up the accent and hooked a thumb into a belt loop. Plus it was easy to remember the accent when my closest friend in the military had, had a thick southern drawl.
