University Roommates (Restart)

Ashton:

"Nothing," I said. "It was a silly joke." How was I supposed to explain myself further? I kissed her again, not quite so gentle. My aim was to distract her.

Emily:
I felt myself melt a little at his kiss and my eyes fluttered closed. My hand went from the collar of his shirt to the back of his neck and tilted my head to kiss him deeper. The weirdness was all but forgotten.

Ashton:

I was supposed to be distracting her, but I ended up distracting myself as well. I got lost in her. I hadn't felt this alive in years. Now I was kicking myself for fighting it for so long.

Emily:
I kept my lips on his for a while and when I finally pulled away, they felt swollen in the best way. "I had a feeling you would be good at this from the other night," I said, referring to when he gave me the still fading hickey on my neck. "But...wow," I giggled.

Ashton:

The swell to my ego was unavoidable at her compliment, and I couldn't help bet grin. "You're pretty amazing yourself," I murmured, leaning my head on the couch and gazing at her. I brushed a stray strand of hair out of her face then cupped her jaw and stroked her cheek with my thumb.

Emily:
I smiled back and leaned my face into his touch. "I could get used to this," I said, softly. "You smiling..." I reached over and grazed my thumb across his bottom lip. "It's nice," I told him. "More than nice."

Ashton:

My eyes closed for a moment and the feeling of her touch across my lip. "You've always made me smile. From the beginning. You're the only one. The only one since... since rehab," I told her softly.

Emily:
When he said that, my gaze softened and I leaned over to gently kiss him. It was quick and soft and when I pulled away, I smiled again. "Well I am insanely charming," I joked.

Ashton:

I chuckled, my thoughts of life before and during rehab wisping away with her smile. "That you are. And funny, and adorable, and talented, and smart, and incredibly beautiful." And mine, I thought with a rush of gratitude for her.

Emily:
I giggled at his compliments and lightly hit his shoulder. "Oh stop it," I said with a wide smile. I was finding it hard to keep my hands to myself. One was still in his hair, stroking through the hair at the back of his neck and the other was creeping across his stomach to wrap around his waist.

Ashton:

I could feel her reaching for me and instinctively reached back for her. "Come here," I murmured and gathered her up to pull her into my lap and hold her close. I kissed her temple once she was settled. "I love you, Em."

Emily:
Once I was in his lap, I buried my head in between his neck and shoulder. He smelled nice. "I love you too," I whispered, placing a soft kiss on his collar bone. "This was worth the wait," I smiled.

Ashton:

I smoothed my hand over her back, rubbing back and forth. "I'm sorry I made you wait so long," I said. I traced circles on her side. Nuzzling her hair I kissed her head. I couldn't keep kissing her whether it was her lips or any other part of her.

Emily:
I smiled and kissed his jaw. "We could have been doing this weeks ago," I said. He was almost tickling me with his hands at my side so I grabbed one and laced our fingers together. It made me think again about the poking situation and I wondered again why he reacted so strongly last time.

Ashton:

"Yeah, I'm an idiot," I murmured squeezing her hand gently when she wound her fingers with mine. I turned her face to look at me. "What did I do to deserve someone like you?"

Emily:
I didn't answer, I just leaned in and pressed my lips to his. He was like a whole new person. More affectionate for sure, but also less worried. I wanted him to know how much I liked it so I deepened the kiss a little extra.

Ashton:

I kissed her back eagerly. Letting go of her hand, I moved my hand around her side, grazing the bare skin of her hip at the edge of her top.

Emily:
I shivered a little at his touch and moved one of the hands to his neck and the other to his chest where I grabbed a hand full of his shirt to pull him closer. I felt like I could do this all night.

Ashton:

A small sound of desire escaped my throat as I kissed her. My hand slid under her shirt and went around to rest flat on the middle of her back. She was so warm and soft. Irresistible.

Emily:
I shifted on his lap and parted my lips. It was quickly getting a little hotter in the room and wanted to get closer, even though there was no possible way of that happening.

Ashton:

My other hand joined the first one under her shirt. Simply feeling her body under my hands was immensely pleasurable, and that was without going higher than her ribcage. I was using what little self-control I had.

Emily:
I pulled my mouth away from his and trailed my lips to his jaw and then down to his neck. I gently grazed the side of his neck with my teeth and tried to get my breathing under control.

Ashton:

I gave a soft groan and leaned my head back. My brain was hazy, but a very small voice nudged at me. I wanted very much to ignore it. "Emily..." I said through heavy breaths. "Maybe we should take this slow..." It was the exact opposite of what I wanted to do. I wanted to smother the little voice that made me say it and continue enjoying myself with her.

Emily:
I pressed my lips against the spot I had brushed with my teeth and sighed against his skin. I knew he was right, I just didn't want to stop. I pulled away and smiled a little sheepishly. "Okay, sorry," I said, softly.

Ashton:

I moved my hands down to rest uncovered on her hips. "Don't apologize," I said. "I love this. I love being this way with you. I just don't want to mess this up. I don't want us to do anything that might be regretted later... So I think we should take it slow..."
