Body Guard

Julie:
"It would have stayed hidden if you weren't so curious!" I said, poking his side. He still had a few popcorn kernels in his hair and I decided to leave them there for now.

Still chuckling I squirmed away from her touch, "Should I go satisfy my curiosity now? I can think of several very good hiding places for various things. Places I'm sure the maids wouldn't check."

Julie:
I wiggled my way onto his lap, to ensure he wasn't getting up to go anywhere. "The only thing that will satisfy is your need to get slapped," I told him, jokingly. It would be fairly stupid of me to fight my body guard.
I didn't have a lot of secrets hidden around my room but I could certainly think of one or two things I would rather he never set his eyes on.

When she wiggled onto my lap I couldn't keep my heart from jumping a beat, but it also sent a pang of worry through me. "Well, I'd rather not be slapped." I admitted while raising my hands up to protect my face just in case. I couldn't help but have my mind wander, just what might be hidden. Though I tried to keep a stoic outlook I was of a curious nature by default.

Julie:
I reached up and grabbed his wrists to pull his hands away from my face. "If we don't go snooping through my things, we wont have to worry about that," I told him with a giggle. I didnt feel drunk, but I knew it must be the alcohol that was allowing me to make myself comfortable in his lap.

Flashing a grin at her I nodded, "That's fair I suppose. But..." Trailing off I smirked and forcibly turned her in my lap until I could wrap my arms around her in a bear hug and pull her back against my chest. With her arms trapped I felt relatively safe to lean my lips close to her ear to repeat and continue, "...but if you misbehave too much I might risk the slaps anyway." With my threat delivered I relaxed my arms to let her move as she pleased if she wanted to.

Julie:
I limbs felt a little bit like jello and I shivered when I felt his mouth so close to my ear. I let out the breath I was holding when he loosened his hold and turned my head to look at him with narrowed eyes. "You wouldnt dare," I said, confidently.

"Care to make that a bet Jules?" I asked with a slow smirk and a raised brow. "I would like to offer up the last bet we made as proof that I can and will dare."

Julie:
I tried to suppress my smile because he actually is fairly good at winning bets. "No, I don't want to bet, Cody," I said, shifting on his lap so I was sitting more at an angle and I could see his face. "I would however, like to point out that you had a stack of Play Boy magazines under your bed for several years and I have been nice enough to never bring it up until this moment," I looked at and batted my eyes with an innocent smirk.

I opened my mouth to retort then shut it with a faint rise of heat to my cheeks. She wasn't wrong. "Still have them under my bed, though my room has changed." I didn't add that on my laptop in my room I had a small collection of pictures, some my ex, others some pictures that had interested me of various people. Some of those people I knew, and one was of Jules herself from a fashion shoot she'd been a part of a few years back.

Julie:
I laughed out loud. "You're blushing!" I said, pointing at his face. "Ha! Now we're even. I don't wanna hear a thing about my books when you keep dirty magazines under your bed..." I playfully poked him again.

“Ah but I’ll admit to my magazines unlike someone I know.” I countered with a weak smile. My attention was momentarily distracted by the movie as a bunch of explosions went off in a grand hotel.

Julie:
"They. Are. Romance. Novels." I insisted. When he looked at the TV, I got the strangest urge to lean in. Instead, I bit my lip and slid off his lap to my seat next to him. I leaned forward and grabbed my glass and took another swig.

“Fine, fine, fine.” I glanced at her and shook my head. It felt better not to argue, lest she actually start hitting me. Though I did have to fight the desire to keep poking at her about it. Without her on my lap I felt strangely disappointed but it also gave me enough to remember how I felt about her in a purely physical sense.

“I’m going to the bathroom, pick another movie this ones almost over.”

Julie:
"Hm, you have this movie memorized, huh?" I asked, sarcastically as I got up. I took my wine glass with me and sat down on the floor next to my movie collection to skim through him. I took a sip and pulled out a romantic chick flick, just to get on his nerves.

In the bathroom within the guest room I usually used I splashed water on my face after making a few adjustments. Once I felt a bit better and calmed down I went back out. "So what have you picked?"

Julie:
I held up the movie I picked and took another sip from my glass, finishing the fourth glass of the night. "I would say we could make more popcorn, but you still have a lot of it in your hair," I smirked and got off the floor. I plopped back in my spot on the couch.

Narrowing my eyes I raked my fingers through my short hair until I was certain I had no more popcorn trapped or caught in it. I would get revenge. Some how. Returning to my seat I gestured for her to start.

Julie:
I pressed my lips together so I wouldn't laugh at his expression and hit play on the movie. I settled into the couch and watched the movie. This one didnt have any shortage of love scenes but this time, I was pulled into the sappy love story and where I laughed before, I was now fully engrossed in the film. I'm sure the alcohol had something to do with it.

I had trouble losing myself in the film. Romance movies were alright, I could see the appeal in them, but when they were over the top I couldn't connect. There was enough to keep me entertained however, though I did look at Jules often, half to check on her and how she was doing with what looked like even more alcohol and a nearly empty bottle of wine. And half to just enjoy the sight of her while plotting my next revenge.

Julie:
I was so invested in the movie that I felt my breath catch at certain parts and I even had to stop my eyes from filling with tears at others. This was definitely the wine. I was never this emotional with movies. I glanced over at Cody to see him looking at me and I smiled sympathetically. "Do you hate this movie?" I asked him.

"Hate? No. There are worse ones. But we both know this isn't my usual genre. I'm enjoying myself, I promise you." Leaning towards the coffee table I picked up the bottle of wine and emptied the last of it into my glass.

Julie:
I nodded and watched him finish off the wine in the bottle before turning my attention back to the movie. When it was finished, I sighed at the happy ending and hit pause on the TV so the ending credits would stop playing. "Do you wanna call your dad and see if they got any news about where Ryan went?" I asked. I had been hoping to hear something by now.

"You want me to do some work then?" I teased, half hoping it would keep her from having me try. I drained the glass before leaning forward and picking up my phone. I unlocked it and briefly checked through the messages I'd accumulated and then deleted the whole batch. Settling my thumb over the call button I looked to Jules for confirmation.

Julie:
I smirked and held my hand out for the phone. "Alright, Princess, I can call him just as well as you can since its still your day off," I said.
