Beyond the Castle, part one. (Two person.)

Araline:

I got to my feet and brushed my dress off. “What are we going to make?” I asked.

Ario:

"I have no idea. We could just make sandwitchs with the last of the bread and cheese." I said not really certain what to make.

Araline:

“Alright,” I said while stretching. “I'm up to anything.” I glanced toward the mouth of the cave into the rain. “Maybe we should wait a little while to see if it stops. Then we can go out together to look for Brian.”

Ario:

I glanced out at the rain and nodded. "Fair enough." I said giving her a small smile again. I was glad that she could warm up with my blanket and the fire I had made. The fire was helping me warm up thankfully.

Araline:

I ruffled his hair playfully with a light smile, not sure why exactly, it wasn’t the sort of thing I usually did. His hair was mostly dry already unlike mine which was still unpleasantly damp.

Ario:

I blinked in surprise, for two reasons. One, because she had ruffled my hair. Two, because I had liked it. I looked at her and smiled brightly, a mischievous glint coming into my eyes.

Araline:

"What?" I asked raising my eyebrows slightly and dropping my hand.

Ario:

I got to my feet and moved closer to her, my eyes still dancing mischievously.

Araline:

I didn't move away as I watched him. "What?" I repeated not understanding his expression in any way.

Ario:

I slipt my arms around her in a hug before reaching up and messing up her hair behind her back.

Araline:

I made a sound of objection and knocked his hand away even as my hair fell into my face.

Ario:

I chuckled and hugged her gently.

Araline:

I blew a strand of hair out of my face and put an arm around his neck giving him a flat look.

Ario:

I smiled innocently and a it apologetically. It was weird, all of a sudden my heart was beating quickly, and I could feel my cheeks warm up a bit.

Araline:

I grinned feeling his pulse. I tilted my head a little to the side watching him curiously.

Ario:

I winced inwardly. Did she have any idea how cute she looked when she did that. I was trying to control my heart, but it wasn't working out very well.

Araline:

“Ario?” I asked lightly touching the side of his face. I didn’t fully understand why he was being like this.

Ario:

She was making it worse, and unknownly to me my face had moved closer to hers. I was struggling to control myself.

Araline:

I tried to read his expression and the look in his eyes but it was only confusing me more. “Ario.” I said again this time not a question. I didn’t like the silence and I didn’t understand what was going on.

Ario:

"You make it difficult sometimes..." I said softly my eyes taking a bit of a distant quality. "Your beautiful but you act and seem to not know it...its almost as if you enjoy playing with my heart even if you don't know you are doing it."

Araline:

My breath caught when he said that. I understood now though I didn’t want to. I aught to have pulled away from him and told him he was being silly but that seemed the wrong thing to do at this moment, hadn’t he just accused me of making things difficult and playing with his heart? It felt like my own heart had been shocked and left burning. I studied his face for a second more then dropped my gaze, what more could I do?

Ario:

I got to my feet my face becoming unreadable. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that." I said softly not looking at her. I turned to look out at the rain outside, suddenly wishing that our acquaintance was here. I had just broken my biggest rule I had when I was around her...

Araline:

I shook my head in agreement even though he wasn’t looking at me. I cover my face with my hand for a long moment trying to recover my composure. If we were still in the palace how would I have acted? It was hard to be that way now when no one else was around. I dropped my hand and took in a deep quiet breath. Looking out I saw that the rain had let up to just a light drizzle, that was good, we needed a distraction. “We should go look for Brian.” I said though my voice wasn’t as steady as it should have been.

Ario:

"I'll go look for him, you just got changed into dry clothes." I said softly before striding out into the rain. I needed time to think...and to apologize for what I had done. What I had done was inexcusable. I shouldn't have thrown my feelings onto her like that.

Araline:

I watched him for a second before deciding to ignore what he said and follow him out any way. I ran a couple steps to catch up with him. I had exchanged the blanket for my cloak which would hopefully keep me a little bit dry.
