Beyond the Castle, part one. (Two person.)

Ario:


"Why don't you want me going out there?" I asked looking at her in confusion.

Araline:

I looked at him for a moment then down at my lap and smoothed my dress out. “I just don't.” I said with a shrug.

Ario:

I tilted my head curiously as I looked at her. "Alright, I wont pry if you don't want to tell me." I said with an absent shrug. I looked down into the fire, my curiosity still perked.

Araline:

“It's not that don't want to tell you, Ario, I don't have much of a reason. I just do not want you to go out there.” I told him, my tone running into defensiveness.

Ario:

I held up my hands in surrender. "Alright, alright. I believe you." I said a smile dancing at the corner of my lips. "Its fun to get a reaction out of you sometimes." I continued still not really believing her but keeping it in the back of my head.

Araline:

The look on his face made me want to smack him, but I didn't. “You don't believe me.” I said sullenly. “What are you thinking? That I am hiding some thing from you? Because I'm not.” This trian of thought was making me squirm a bit to get comfortable

Ario:

"Its mainly curiosity. You know how my mind tends to wander, and once it starts working on something its hard to get my mind off of it. Trust me, its fine, I trust you." I said giving her a reassuring smile.

Araline:

“Okay.” I said shortly staring onto the fire. I wasn't quite sure why I had gone off on him like that. I knew I didn't want him going out into the rain because I didn't want him to leave me here but I didn't think that was all of it.

Ario:

I watched her for a few more moments before turning to look out into the rain. I let out a breath and settled down my eyes looking into the fire. A flash of lightning illuminated the ground outside but I didn't pay much attention to it.

Araline:

I watched the fire for a long time, what seemed like hours, before looking up at Ario again and asking, “What are you thinking?”

Ario:

"Huh? Oh, what would have happened had we stayed." I said looking up at her.

Araline:

I pulled my knees up and hugged them. “The same thing that always happens there.” I said with a shrug but my tone was bitter.

Ario:

"I'm fairly certain you would have had to marry Tyler. But I have no idea who I would have been forced to marry." I commented.

Araline:

“I would have made sure she was good, and sweet.” I said but I did not like the idea of having to find some one else for him to marry, I hated it actually.

Ario:

I looked at her and smiled slightly. "Like you." I said softly before hurrying on. "Wait you would pick one for me?"

Araline:

“I'd probably have a say, yes.” I answered frowning unconsciously. Like me? That confused me slightly but I was side tracked by hating the imaginary girl I would have picked, she seemed too perfect.

Ario:

I was surprised that she could do something like that. But then again she was the princess. I looked at her and caught her frown and hard eyes. She didn't like the idea of picking someone for me?

Araline:

I looked back at him for a minute. “What?” I asked defensively.

Ario:

"You see unhappy now." I said looking down into my lap. "I'm sorry..." I finished blaming myself now for her hard look and frown.

Araline:

“You didn't do any thing wrong. I'm not unhappy.” I told him, lightening my tone.

Ario:

I glanced up at her and pointed out softly. "Your still frowning..."

Araline:

My frown deepened for a moment then disappeared. “I'm sorry? I'm just thinking.” I said with a soft shrug.

Ario:

I matched her shrug with one of my own. "Come on, since you don't want me to go out into the rain, maybe you can help me with making dinner." I offered, hoping to distract her.

Araline:

I sighed. “Yeah, I will.” I said nodding.

ARio:

I gave her a small smile, I really had no idea what to cook for tonight, as stew no longer sounded good.
