Beyond the Castle, part one. (Two person.)

Ario:

I rose to consciousness, and before I sank back down into the blackness I made out one word. "Araline..." I mumbled out.

Araline:

I smoothed his hair back gently when he said my name. I laid my hand out on his chest. he was cold though maybe that was good if it stopped the blood from flowing.

Ario:

Even in the blackness, I could feel her hand on my chest. I could feel where she was touching me, but not much else.

Araline:

“Ario.” I sighed. “Please wake up. I don’t know what to do.” I said quietly continuing to smooth his hair back.

Ario:

I twitched a bit at her voice, before stopping again. Her voice penetrated the blackness, and brought me close to consciousness.

Araline:

I couldn't tell how long he had been like this. It was still raining though it might have been darker by now. And it was cold. I folded his shirt then carefully moved his head from my lap and put the shirt under him like a pillow. I scooted down so I was next to him. Gently I put my arm across his chest and shoulder making sure not to touch any of the scrapes and snuggled next to him. I may have been damp still and not all that warm but I was better than nothing.

Ario:

My breathing slowed and relaxed a bit when she snuggled against me. I could feel her slight coolness against my own heat, and it was helping me to wake up.

Araline:

I looked up at him. It was strange laying with him like this. An icy drop dripped on the back of my neck and rolled down my back causing me to shiver slightly.

Ario:

It was a slow process for me to wake up. My body wanting me to stay unconscious, but my mind wanting me to wake up.

Araline:

It was now nearly too dark to see by. I couldn't make out any thing beyond the tree we were under and the constant drumming of the relentless rain drowned out any thing else. It was a little unnerving.

Ario:

I woke up and blinked, if it wasn't for the faint light, enough that I could just barely see I would think I was still unconscious. I turned my head to look at Araline, I tried to process what I was seeing with her laying like that with me. "...Araline." I whispered to her.

Araline:

I jumped slightly when he said my name and looked up at his face once again. I propped myself up on my elbow. "Ario? What happened to you? How do you feel? Are you okay?" I asked worriedly.

Ario:

"...please only one question at a time..." I said weakly before trying to answer. "I was looking for you, wanting to apologize...I was stuipid...I just don't know why you would want me to stay. While looking for you I tripped and rolled down a hill. I think....I think I hit my head on the way down...I don't know some things are fuzzy in my memories..." I paused and just laid there for a bit before I started speaking again. "I feel hurt...pretty bad. I think I might have a concussion. That should answer all of your questions. Now. How are you?" I asked bringing a hand up to touch her cheek gently.

Araline:

"Ahh," I sighed. "I feel so bad. I shouldn't have stormed off like that. I'm sorry." I said quietly looking up at him with concern written all over my face.

Ario:

I gently stroked her cheek before letting my hand fall. "Its alright. I'm sorry for upsetting you enough to storm off."

Araline:

"Ario, why wouldn't I want you to stay? Where would you go any way?" I asked managing to stay calm about it.

Ario:

"I don't know the answer to the first question. But I would stay out here in the woods. But I don't know what I would do if I stayed." I said looking into her eyes.

Araline:

"You would leave me with people I have never met?" I asked, despite the effort to keep my tone calm it came out sounding strained.

Ario:

"But your dad would be there..." I said softly before smiling gently and nodding. "I'll stay with you then."

Araline:

I let a small relieved breath out and gently laid my head on his shoulder again. "As if I would let you leave me any way." I said and a smile played around my lips.

Ario:

"Oh, and what would you do to get me to stay?" I asked softly, gently leaning my head against hers.

Araline:

"Some thing you wouldn't be able to resist." I said and smiled despite myself, looking out into the rain.

Ario:

"Ok, your being cruel...playing with my curiosity like that. What would it be?" I asked closing my eyes and just resting.

Araline:

I giggled wickedly but didn't say anything.

Ario:

I groaned softly. "You really are cruel..." I muttered. A smile was playing around on my lips even as I said it.
