Kyle:

“Hers usually isn’t that long. She cuts it real short with a knife herself every now and then and lets it grow back until it annoys her again, don’t tell her I said this, but it looks terrible.” I told her.

Krissy:

I was perfectly content with the silence; it fitted with the cold dark. I glanced around us again and stumbled over a rock clumsily.

Michael:

I put an arm around her to help. "Careful." I said softly, my voice quiet in the dark.

Ebony:

I nodded. "I keep mine short just because its easier to manage and its also better in a fight to have shorter hair." I giggled. "I had mine boyishly short before, but I didn't like it like that."

Kyle:

“I bet it looked cute though.” I said smiling and trying to picture it.

Krissy:

I mumbled something like “oops” and flushed lightly.

Ebony:

"I looked like a guy!" I protested. I crossed my arms and shook my head. "It only looked cute when I grew it a few inches and it actually went past my ears."

Michael:

I let the arm around her waist fall as I laced my fingers through hers again.

Kyle:

“I doubt you could ever look like a guy.” I told her.

Krissy:

I smiled and glanced around again. on his side was a block of widely spaced new houses most of them were still empty and on my side was the woods that were marked to be bulldozed come summer. I stopped hearing a sound that was vaguely familiar to me coming from some where off in the woods. It could have been an animal or it could have been nothing but I stood there listening for a long moment.

Ebony:

I shook my head. "I wasn't as....developed then." I said a faint blush touching my cheeks. I could pass for a guy if I wore baggy enough clothing, and acted like one.

Michael:

"You ok?" I asked stopping when she had.

((Oh, you almost just made me choke to death with that line, ahaha I love Ebony XP))

Kyle:

I chuckled and brushed the back of my hand across her cheek. “Whether or not you were, your face is too feminine.”

Krissy:

“I don’t know.” I whispered then put a finger over my lips to tell him to be quiet. I listened for the noise again, I could hear a faint choking sound then some thing that sounded like a cry. Again it could have been an animal but I had heard that sound enough to know what it meant. I let go of Michael’s hand with out a word and started running into the woods.

Michael:

I blinked after her before flicking out a knife and running after her. It took me only a brief moment to adjust to running in a forest and once I had my foot steps made little to no noise.

Ebony:

I rubbed my cheek against his hand. "Thank you...I don't usually think of myself as feminine. I am usually too much of a tom-boy to feel like that."

Kyle:

“Well you look it even if you don’t feel like it.” I said.

Krissy:

All I could hear now was my feet hitting the ground, after a few seconds of running I could see a crumpled shape at the base of a tree in the distance. Once I reached it I saw it was a boy maybe a few years younger than I was. I hit the ground hard on my knees and felt the fabric of my jeans rip. He was choking and gasping, the front of his white t-shirt was stained dark with blood. “Oh God.” I said loudly running my hands over his bloody chest trying to find the wound. I heard some one curse loudly and my head snapped up. A guy much older than me raised a gun at me, I saw a black tattoo on his arm and knew immediately he was in a gang, same one Eric had been in when he was younger. I remembered scraping the tattoo off his arm when he quit. I cringed away from the gun but otherwise was too consumed with the kid bleeding to death to do any thing.

Michael:

I drew up and taking the scene in at a glance I immediately moved my foot lashing out and kicking away the gun. From there I moved systematically taking him down. I sat down on his unconscious form wiping off my knife on the guys shirt.

Ebony:

I looked down flushing a bit. If it wasn't for actually being a girl I didn't think I could actually be feminine.

Krissy:

By the time I found the two bullet wounds on his chest he was barely gasping any more. I cursed putting as much pressure as I could on the wounds. “Please, please, please.” I murmured as his breathing came to a stop and his pulse died out. I sat back on my legs letting my head drop and feeling my eyes burn with tears.

Kyle:

I took her hand and squeezed it lightly watching her for a moment before turning my eyes back tot he road.

Ebony:

A stray strand fell in front of my face, and a bad habit of mine re-immersed as I started chewing/sucking on the hair.

Michael:

I got off of the guy and knelt next to Krissy putting my arms around her. "Shh...Its ok..." I whispered softly.

Krissy:

I leaned against him slightly but looked away biting my lip as a tear rolled silently down my cheek followed by an other. I looked at the unconscious guy and my stomach tightened. “Can I see your knife?” I asked quietly, my voice dejected.

Kyle:


I used two fingers of the hand holding hers to flick her hair out of her face. “Don’t do that.” I said in a playful but disapproving tone.

Michael:

"If you plan on killing him or hurting him, I'm going to be doing it. Not you." I brushed away her tears with my thumb. "Your too pure to be doing that. Its one of the reasons I really like you."

Ebony:

I faked a pout looking at him. "But its a habit." I said a small smile ruining my pout.

Krissy:

I pulled away from him and got to my feet. I doubted I was anywhere near as pure as he thought. “I won’t kill him, I won’t even hurt him that bad. Please just let me use the knife.” I said quietly.

Kyle:

“But it is a bad one.” I told her and smiled at her.

Ebony:

I shrugged and without thinking I did it again. I turned my head to look out the window.

Michael:

I hesitated for a moment longer before offering the blade out to her. I watched her carefully my expression not showing any emotion.

Krissy:

I took it and quietly went over to the guy. He was the one who should be dead and not that kid, I thought as I knelt down. I put my knee on his chest so if he did wake up I could stop him from doing any thing. I grabbed his arm and turned it so I could see the tattoo. It was like an M with the outer lines curving in toward the center. My thirteen year old mind had imagined it into some version of a black butterfly. I sliced the knife over it, I gouged out the black part and under the wound I carved a small K. I sat back and watched it slowly bleed. I sighed then ripped the bottom of his shirt in a strip and tied it tightly around his arm. I got to my feet and wiped the knife clean on my jeans and held it out to Michael.

Kyle:

I made a tisk noise catching a glimpse of her doing it again as she turned away.

Michael:

I took the knife and put it away my expression a bit curious.


Ebony:

I heard his tisk noise and I turned to look at him confused. "What?" I asked.

Krissy:

I sat down on the ground again, sighing. My jeans were ripped at both knees of which one of them was scraped up. I picked leaf and stick fragments out of the minor wound and wiped my bloody hands on my jeans. Glancing at the kid I bit my lip, I did feel a little better now. It wasn’t my fault he was dead, if I had been at the hospital I probably still couldn’t have saved him, and I did try. I sighed and hesitantly looked at Michael.

Kyle:

“Don’t do that.” I told her lightly flicking her leg.

Michael:

I offered a hand down to her. "Come on, lets get you home." I said a small gently smile touching my lips.

Ebony:

I looked and realized that without thinking I had done it again. I undid my pony tail, and re-did it so that I had no stray strands of hair.

Krissy:

I took his hand and got to my feet then let go. I walked quietly back to the road while chewing on the inside of my cheek.

Kyle:

I chuckled. Before long I turned onto our street and pulled into the drive way.

Michael:

I walked next to her, uncertain what I should do at this point. I already missed what had happened earlier.

Ebony:

I got out of the car and waited for Kyle, a smile dancing in my eyes.

Kyle:

I smiled at her as I got out of the car and took her hand leading her up to the front door. After I unlocked it and walked inside I saw Eric asleep on the couch and picked up the fallen clicker to turn off the TV.

Krissy:

“I’m sorry.” I said quietly glancing up at him.

Ebony:

I giggled softly at seeing Eric asleep on the couch. "Well its obvious that Krissy and Michael haven't come home." I whispered to Kyle.

Michael:

I looked at her confused. "What are you sorry for?" I asked tilting my head.
