Kyle:

I sighed after a long moment and lifted her chin up, kissing her quickly. “It will be alight. She’ll warm up to you I’m sure.” I said softly.

Ebony:

I blushed a bit and nodded. "I hope so too..." I whispered before hugging him tightly. I let go of him reluctantly and opened the backdoor before heading inside then into the kitchen.

Kyle:

I followed her inside. My dad had taken over and my mom was sitting at the table while Krissy set it.

Ebony:

I went into the kitchen and paused for a moment before sitting away from Kyle's mom. I was sitting with Michael on one side and room for another on my other side. There was room for a person on Michael's other side as well.

Krissy:

Kyle sat next to Ebony and across the table from my mom. I wondered what she had told him, he seemed preoccupied. After I finished setting the table Eric pulled me down in the seat next to him and across the table from Ebony. I glanced at him for a second then shrugged it off. I liked having every one here like this. Eric stayed over all the time but we usually didn’t have this many. Once my dad had served every one he said, “I saw you two working on the car. Did you make much progress?” He smiled at Ebony.

Ebony:

I blinked his question taking sometime to filter through. I nodded at him before speaking. "Yeah...Krissy your car works now, and should run when ever you want it too. But I still need to fine tune it quite a bit before it will work perfectly and not break down."

Krissy:

I gave her a skeptical look before turning to my brother and flicking his arm. “You told me it couldn’t be fixed.” I said. “I did not say. That is not what I said.” He replied immediately while looking down at his plate. “Oh that’s right. You said you wouldn’t fix it.” I gave him a sour look before facing back toward Ebony. “Thank you, Ebony, You’re an angel.”

Ebony:


I cheered up a bit at that and smiled shyly. "I'm just good at fixing cars. I would recommend not driving it until I finish tuning it up. Other wise I'm going to have to go back and fix something else again."

Krissy:

“I can very easily wait to drive it.” I said smiling at her reaction. It was better than the way she looked when she came out to get us.

Ebony:

I nodded, her smile helping to cheer me up. I refused to look at her mother though, as that would probably make me feel bad.

Krissy:

“You ever steal cars and fix them up?” Eric asked next to me. “Eric.” “Just asking.”

Ebony:

I winked at Eric. "I haven't stolen anything that could be proved I have done it." I said slightly evasively, but more or less saying yes.

Krissy:

Eric grinned back at her. “Of course you wouldn’t. Wouldn’t be any good if you did.” He said.

Ebony:

I smiled innocently making myself look the picture of innocence.

Krissy:

Eric chuckled. I bit my lip for a second looking down at my plate then glanced up at Kyle. There was not a single shred of amusement on his face, he seemed rather irritated actually, which wasn't unusual, but at this moment I knew exactly why. My dad spoke up again, "Krissy, any thing interesting happen at work today?" I blinked for a second. Lie, I thought. "Um, nope, just regular stuff. I sat in on an operation."

Ebony:

I looked around the table absently, my eyes settling on Kyle. I reached under the table and took his hand in mine. "You ok?" I whispered softly.

Kyle:

I watched Krissy for a second until Ebony took my hand. "I'm fine." I muttered glancing at her then around the table.

Ebony:

I looked at him not really believing him but accepting what he said. I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes.

Kyle:

I stroked the back of her hand with my thumb and scowled at Eric who, I assumed, was deliberately not looking at me.

Ebony:

I opened my eyes when the silence kind of stretched on for a while.

Kyle:

“I’m done.” I muttered scooting my chair back and kissing Ebony’s cheek when I moved away from her.

Ebony:

A shy smiled touched the corner of my lips, as I continued to sit there. The silence was starting to get to me a bit, but I didn't know if it would be right to leave yet.

Kyle:

I picked up both her and my plates as I stood up. Krissy held hers up to me with a smile and I rolled my eyes but took it.

Krissy:

I sat forward my elbows where my plate used to be. “Come with me upstairs?” I asked Ebony across the table.

Ebony:

I blinked but nodded getting up out of my chair. I wondered what Krissy wanted with me.

Krissy:

I stood up and grabbed her wrist pulling her with me out of the kitchen.
