Perfect Assassins

"NO. Of course not!" Lexi practically yelled. "I deserve to know, don't I?!"

Kyle:

“And I have the right to remain silent.” I said, throwing her words from earlier back at her.

"But aren't couples supposed to tell each other everything? ESPECIALLY when they're BOTH involved?!" Lexi shot back.

Kyle:

“Really? Wow I’ve totally got the wrong idea. I thought they were supposed to lie relentlessly in order to keep each other happy.” I shot back sarcastically.

"Of course YOU would think that! You've been doing it ever since I met you! Lying to keep me happy!" Lexi growled.

Kyle:

“That isn’t true.” I said defensively. “I rarely lie to you. And I wouldn’t ever have to if you weren’t so damn nosey!”

"So you'd just tell me then, huh?" Lexi replied, obviously being sarcastic.

Kyle:

“No, you could just let it be. Sometimes it’s not something that you need to know. I don’t have to tell you absolutely everything.” I scowled at her.

"I DO WHEN IT INVOLVES ME! And MY friends!" Lexi yelled, clenching her fists. She wanted to punch something. "We're being hunted! And you seriously think that I won't try to find out what's going on when one of the few people I love that are still alive walk off to answer a phone that isn't even theirs?!"

Then she got quiet, like she did when she got SO mad that she couldn't take it anymore. "Whatever. Don't tell me. I'm going for a walk." With that, she turned on her heel and stormed off.

Kyle:

I regretted the message I had sent far more now than before, which was one of the reasons I didn’t want to tell her. “Lexi!” I called then cursed profusely. I started to go after but Krissy stopped me with a sigh.

Krissy:

I ran after Lexi and fell into step beside her but didn’t say anything.

"Someone's dead... I know it..." Lexi whispered, tears were in her eyes. "Why else would he refuse to tell me...?"

Krissy:

I felt sick again. “You’re probably right.. And it was my phone..” I said hugging myself trying not to worry about Michael but my heart felt heavy anyway.

Lexi clenched her fists and punched the side of the building next to her. Her hand came away bruised and bloody. "I hate that he won't tell us anything," she growled.

Will
I cant believe they left us behind." i growled driving my car, jame sin the passenger seat.

"They didnt. I know them well enough that they would have left something to tell us wher ethey were." James shrugged. "I sent Kyle a text, he will tell us where they are when he gets it. Calm down, driving angry uses more gas."

"Your too calm all the time." i shook my head driving into town, looking around for any sign of them.

Krissy:

I winced when she hit the wall. “I know, I do too, but storming off like this isn’t going to help anything. What if one of us is the next target? Or him? We need to stay together.” I said quietly as I took her hand and wrapped it with a cloth I had in my pocket.

Lexi nodded her thanks but was still too wired. "That's what I've been saying all along," she agreed, sighing but too angry to go back right then. "He said least important first, right? So...Jack...then Ebony or James, then the other, Will, Micheal, me, you, then Kyle, right? He'll go in an order like that. I don't think he'll come after the three of us till last."

Krissy:

I stared at the ground. “That’s what Kyle said. It’s just his thinking. I don’t think we can predict this guy.” I said slowly.

"Well, he said least important to most important. Are we not the creators of the Perfect Assassins?" Lexi replied, wrapping her hand more into the cloth.

Krissy:

“Kyle said that.. I don’t see why this guy wouldn’t have us at the top of his list.” I replied leaning against the wall.

"Exactly. So we're the only ones not in immediate danger but still," Lexi sighed, leaning against the wall next to her. "I know Kyle wants to take this guy out but I think you should go into hiding while he and I find Michael and handle this. Of course we'd leave you with someone, maybe Will to protect you..."

Krissy:

I looked up at her. “What?” I asked sharply. “You want to leave me? I’m perfectly capable of helping. I’m better than Kyle now and probably you as well.” I said crossing my arms.

"Kris," Lexi said seriously. "Not in the condition you're in."

Krissy:

I felt ice flow through my veins. “Lexi,” I said coldly, “I do not have a condition. I can fight and kill and protect myself just fine. There is no need to punish me anymore.” I turned on my heels. “I’m going back to my brother.”

"I'm not trying to punish you! I'm trying to protect my best friend!" Lexi said, trying to make Krissy see reason. But the one thing she had learned with being with the PAs was that all of them were beyond stubborn.

Krissy:

“I don’t need protecting, thanks.” I snapped back.
