Perfect Assassins

i was getting my bones rebroken, popped into place, etc. when the lights when out. "oh great."

Emergency lights were turned on, casting everything in an eerie red glow. Lexi reached for her knife but it wasn't there.

I pulled a knife after the gaurds ran out of the room to see what was wrong. My first two thoughts were to get to Jam3es and Lexi

There were only two windows in the hallway and both of them burst open, men clad in dark clothing armed with katanas appeared admist the broken glass. They were assassins, come to exterminate a problem or...maybe not.

I limped into the hallway my room was in, looking down both ways there were men with katanas. I could take one, maybe two in the state i was in. but not these many

The assassins attacked the EMT guys and mowed them down. Rose went into battle mode, dodging and weaving blades rather than allowing herself to be hurt. But they bided their time and managed to back her over to the broken window. Outside, a helicopter whirred and a ladder dropped with a man hanging on it. It was Jake Waldrep. Lexi's brother. That shocked Lexi back into control just before he knocked her out and grabbed her around the waist.

The helicopter retreated, and so did the assassins. They disappeared into the night and the ladder was pulled up into the copter, Lexi was laid on the floor, out cold.

((You’re going to make me bring Kyle back before I want to, aren’t you Lexi? You know I can’t resist this. At least we should do a time skip of a few days…))

As soon as they were there, they were gone. No one tried to attacks me exactly, the EMT's were dead and then they just kind of left. Pointless. I limp myself out of this hallway and tried to find Lexi or James.

Lexi groaned softly, her vision swimming. She looked up at the ceiling of the helicopter, she heard her brother arguing with someone...that voice sounded so familair.

"She's waking up," her brother's voice said and Lexi tried to hold back another groan but she couldn't. Her head was pounding.

A sharp pain in her arm jolted her but only made her sleepy. Just before she closed her eyes, she thought she saw Melody's face above her, holding a needle.

*TIMESKIP for however long Kayla needs it to go for *

Kyle:

I was in the front seat of the van while Blakely typed at the speed of light in the back. Krissy had called to tell me what had happened. She had gone to the hospital and interrogated anyone who would talk to her. She’d found out there was a helicopter but not much else. Blakely now was trying to piece the impossible puzzle together. I had to admit, I was glad to have him with me now, he was far better than me at this. He had hacked the hospital security video and found the helicopter we thought it was just by eliminating others. He’d tracked the helicopter down and we were trying to get there now.

Krissy:

I hated hospitals. They weren’t safe, they made us vulnerable. I wished Lexi and James had been brought straight to me. I had told Will as much. I had gone to the hospital after I found out what happened. It was difficult to get past the police to see Will and James but I managed to get them both out of there and not have to explain too much. I was taking care of James now but I didn’t feel any better. Lexi was gone. Kyle was gone and had told me he wasn’t coming back until he found Lexi. I might not see either of them again. But of course, I was trying to find her as well.

It was dark in the room and even with the small lightbulb overhead, Lexi couldn't see more than a foot in front of her. She was alone, based on the fact that no one else in the room was breathing... She had held her breath for a moment to make sure. She pulled on the chains binding her wrists to the wall behind her but she was unsuccessful in pulling her wrists free. Her ankles were chained the same way and it was cold, freezing in fact. Only half of her shirt remained and her jeans had been reduced to rags. Lexi was glad that there wasn't a mirror in sight, otherwise, she'd scream at her own reflection. She couldn't see very well out of her right eye. Only what she could assume was blood plastered her hair to her forehead and made it even harder to see.

Remembering...remembering was hard. It was like there was nothing to remember. She was sure that Jake was there and Melody too but Mel wasn't herself. She was alive but Lexi had a feeling that it wasn't the same Mel. Was it possible that they had done the same thing to her that they had done to Lexi only a month ago? Did they create a new personality for Mel to replace her? If Mel didn't work out, who would they take next? Krissy? Kyle? Michael?

Lexi couldn't let that happen. And Rose, a bitch as she was, wasn't going to let that happen either.

Kyle:

“I have a number. I’m calling it.” He said from the back. “Wait? A number for who?” I asked. “Hopefully for the people who have Lexi. Just shut up.” I was quiet, listening to the sound of the phone ringing.

Jake Waldrep answered his phone without looking at it. "Jake speaking. Go," he said, half distracted by the computer screen in front of him. Melody stood behind him, looking over his shoulder and squinting at the screen.

Kyle:

I hissed a string of profanity to which Blakely hit my arm to hush me then spoke calmly into the phone. “I’m interested in what you do and I have a ‘friend’ in mind who you might like to meet.” He said.
