Perfect Assassins

“Marie O’Shay.” She said proudly then with a flicker of annoyance remembered he knew the name. “My niece and nephew you know. It’s a coincidence, I assure you. I wanted you far before they even knew you existed. A pity you disappeared before I could obtain you, When I located you again, you were with them.”

Michael:

"What do you mean?" I asked recognizing the name and my brain started pulling what I remebered about her.

“Well, when you were young I came to see you, many people did. You were remarkable, better than most of any age at what you did. I wanted you badly, the possibilities were endless. But at the time I was denied because you were still in training, your handlers wanted you to be complete first. So I waited. They kept you well hidden and it wasn’t until after you left that I realized they never had any intention of giving you to me. And then I found out my niece had found you, that you were with her. At the time I thought it couldn’t have been more perfect. Here there was a connection between you and me already set. It quickly became clear that this was the worst thing for you, however. That group, they were terribly slippery, it was hard to get an idea where they were for any length of time. At least no one else knew you who you were. So many were focused on the red her girl, I met her once, terribly rude. She was a princess I heard and had a substantial price on her head. But no one knew you were far more precious.” She took a breath, her tone had become almost dreamy as she explained to him. “But I am afraid, my dear, that the time you have spent with my niece has tarnished you. Clearly you have changed and not for the better.” She smiled then and patted his restrained hand. “Not to worry though, I have worked many miracles in the past. I’m sure you can be restored to the perfect weapon you are meant to be.”

"I am done with that life. I wont be a weapon for anyone anymore." I growled at her, feeling iritable as I felt the all too familiar ache start up. When had I gotten soldier syrum again? I thought I had cleared my system of that...

Marie sighed deeply. “She did ruin you as I was afraid of.” She said sadly. She stood up a minute later. “Unfortunately, my dear, you don’t have a say in this. I have worked too hard toward this goal and I won’t be put off any longer. So here are the options you do have a say in. You can either comply with everything I wish you to do, or you can resist and let me strip away everything about you that makes you more than a weapon.” Her tone wasn’t raised or impolite in any way, but it was sharp and dangerous. “One thing you should know: Krissy, my niece, is in a cell here completely under my control. Whatever you decide here could impact her. And I’ll tell you what, if you decide, like I am sure you will, that you want to obey me, I will even let you keep her, as a reward.”

Michael:

I closed my eyes and nodded once. "So be it. But you had better be prepared for the consequences of doing this to me. I work both ways just as easily. As Aaron found out." I said my voice soft and low but full of all the implications of what I would and could do to her.

Marie smiled icily and leaned forward so locks of her golden bronze hair fell in his face. Her green eyes, just like Kyle’s, locked on his. “I am not Aaron. I am not the same in any way. He handled you poorly, I do not intend to do the same. If you listen to me and do as I wish, I am sure you will find me quite lenient. None of my… staff finds it hard to work under me. I am sure you will me no different.” She straightened and went to the door. She gave him a sweet smile. “I usually get what I want, I am rather stubborn about that. A family trait you must have noticed.” She commented then left the room.

I watched her leave before whispering softly. "Control freak bitch...." I closed my eyes and forced myself to relax. I was going to go through a lot of pain and soon if I didn't get another dose. But it was better not to have that stuff in my system so I just mentally prepared for it.

Krissy:

Upon discovering the mirrored wall I had turned around and discreetly searched the entire room for anything I could use as a weapon. The bed was completely welded together, no screws or staples. The night stand was the same. The plate that held the food was paper and all the sheets were sewn to the foam mattress. The best I could come up with was using the sheets to strangle someone, but that I could do with my bare hands and it was likely that whoever came into my cell would be well armed. After I finished my inspection of the room I looked myself over more carefully. Whoever had redressed me had also taken blood samples from my arm, which meant they would know I was pregnant. I curled up under the sheet so they couldn’t see me from the other side of the wall. I did the only thing left for me to do. I cried. I was alone, I hated being alone. I had no idea where I was or how long I had been here, or why. I couldn’t remember anything that happened after the restaurant. And Michael was gone again.
I jerked up right when the door opened, blotting my face on the sheets. A man came in, dressed similarly to myself but older by at least ten years. I shrank into the cold stone wall, I wasn’t the best at hand to hand, but if it came to that I was prepared. I searched him with my eyes, he didn’t look armed that I could tell. “Come on, unless you would prefer to stay in here.” He held a hand out to help to my feet. I politely ignored it and stood up a few feet away from him, watching his every move warily. He had shoes, I noted darkly.

Michael:

I could feel it, the pain, the fever, the cold sweats, and the nausia. I fought to ignore it, but eventually my body started convulsing a bit on the bed and I strained against the straps holding me down.

A woman came into Michael’s room and set the box Krissy had taken from him on the side table. She ignored him other than to swab the area on his arm that she would give the injection.

Michael:

I growled out and the strap holding my right wrist ripped a bit. "No." I forced out through clenched teeth.

Lexi practically screamed and ran over to both of them, hugging and crying. "I was so worried about you two!" she yelled, hugging them close to her. She kept wincing in pain from her new wound and didn't even seem to care that she was only in a bra and jeans. "Kai, you're so grown up! And where have you two been?!"

Kai:

"Um, no offense but...put a shirt on mom." I said calling her by her nickname. "I'm sorry I freaked you all out with my game...but I had fun."

The woman was taken aback slightly when the strap sore at the edges but she moved on with the task she was appointed. “Don’t fight it. It’ll make you better. No use going through a withdrawal.” She said reasonably as she pushed the plunger emptying it into his veins.

Kyle:

I took a moment to pull on my shirt before going to join her. I handed her shirt, which incidentally was my shirt seeing as hers was soaked with blood. “Hey Kai.” I said with a smile.

Kai:

"Dad you are a horrible detective. I mean calling my mother a hooker and me a bastard child....tsk tsk. That is no way to call the person who you love." I said flashing a grin up at him as I tilted back in my wheelchair.

Lexi pulled on her shirt and insisted on hugging Kai again. "But we're actually together now...It just so happened that only a year after you...'died', we started dating."

Kyle:

I smiled at her, my eyes lingering on my face before I looked over at Ebony. “Where have you been off to then? We were worried.”

"REALLY worried," Lexi butted in, hugging Kyle's arm.

Kyle:

I smiled and laced my fingers with hers.

Ebony:

"College? I should be going back soon though..." I admitted biting my lip.

"You went to college and didn't even tell me?" Lexi frowned. "Hey...why haven't I gone to college? We're eighteen now, right?"

Ebony:

"Well....tecnically I have been going to college sine I have been 16...." I admitted softly.

Kyle:

“Wow, college.. What for?” I asked curiously. That was something that had never been an option for me.

Lexi looked at Ebony expectantly. "Sixteen?"
