Perfect Assassins

"That bitch? Why?" Lexi frowned, looking hurt. "Why didn't you come back?"

Krissy:

I laughed darkly. “Well I spent every minute that I was alone, which wasn’t often, trying to find a way out of the damn place.” I said bitterly. “I am surprised she just let me go, though. I was positive she was going to kill me once she got what she wanted.”

Lexi froze, watching Krissy. "What did she want?" she asked carefully, her fingers twitched toward the gun in reaction to her confusion, anger, and distress.

Krissy:

“Michael.” I told her my eyes glancing down to her hand then back up to her eyes. “You thought the same thing happened to me that you went through?” I asked. “You know I would never bend like that.”

Lexi winced. Well, wasn't that a blow to the gut. Sure, Lexi wasn't nearly as strong as Krissy, physically or mentally but she didn't have to go and say it out loud!

"So she still has Michael? What about the baby?" she asked in a whisper, not wanting Kyle or Eric to overhear.

Krissy:

I sighed and looked at the ground. “Yes she still has Michael.” I replied but chose not to answer the second question. My hand, however, moved just over my belly without me really realizing. “And I doubt he’s ever coming back.. She’s changing his mind. It’s like she’s not even brainwashing him, just persuading him to think like her… I did it before.” I laughed darkly. “I don’t see why she won’t be able to. She probably said I chose to leave him..” The last part was more to myself than Lexi. I focused on the corner of the room as my eyes swam with tears again.

"Kris..." Lexi sighed, looking worried. "Maybe Kyle and I can stop her and rescue Michael. It's possible, especially if she's not too far from here. If she's more or less brainwashing him then she may tell him to come after us and kill us, maybe even you for 'leaving' him. I don't know if we'd be able to do much against him. He's out of our league."

Krissy:

I shook my head. “So is she… She trained the same person who taught us.” I sighed. “She’s actually a lot like me. I didn’t expect that.” I knew we wouldn’t be able to get Michael back. Marie had far more resources available to her, and she would exhaust them all before she gave up Michael.

When Krissy said that, Lexi couldn't help but remember the time Kris had more or less brainwashed Rose so Lexi was in control again. Was it possible that Marie was using the same technique? The same one that made Kyle so angry that he hit his own sister. The idea bothered Lexi, knowing full well that Krissy could wind up going down that same path after what had happened. It worried her.

"So we're dead if we go after him and we're dead if we DON'T go after him. Hell," Lexi mumbled to herself, trying to come up with a plan. She really didn't like the idea of running again.

Krissy:

“I don’t think Marie cares about us… At least the only reason she kept me for so long was for Michael… He’s all she cares about. Her own personal weapon.” The thought made my blood boil, but there was nothing I could do now. My last attempt to get him to turn against her had gotten me thrown out. I covered my face with my hands and gulped in air to keep from crying.

Lexi sighed and gently hugged Krissy, stroking her hair. "Hey. We'll think of something, I promise. Don't worry." She hugged her gently one last time. "Take a bath then get some sleep, okay?"

Krissy:

I nodded and dipped my hand in the water to test the temp. After Lexi left I took my shirt off and stared at myself in the mirror. My stomach was still flat but I couldn’t tell if there was a difference from a few weeks ago. I shook off the thought and undressed all the way to get into the water.

Eric:

“So?” I asked when Lexi came out of the bathroom. “What did she tell you?”

"Nothing you need to know right now," Lexi replied, leaning against the wall. "But...keep on guard. We may be under attack before too long but...they let her go. We might have a night or two of quiet before anything happens." She watched Eric carefully, curious to how he would react, especially to orders she had given him: the dreaded redhead.

Eric:

My eyes narrowed. “Who’s ‘they’?” I asked then sighed when Kyle came up the stairs.

Kyle:

“What’s going on?” I asked seeing just Lexi and Eric alone in the hall. “Krissy told your girl everything but she apparently thinks we don’t need to know it.” Eric informed me quickly. “What did Krissy say?” I asked going to Lexi’s side.

"It's not really up to me to tell you," Lexi said softly, looking up at Kyle. "It's not my story to tell. You two waited this long, you can wait a little while longer."

Kyle:

“But She’s my sister. She’s my baby sister.” I complained. That gave me the right to know, didn’t it? I thought so. “Besides what if she doesn’t feel like saying it over again? You know how she gets about unpleasant things. She doesn’t like to relive them over and over.” I argued. Eric nodded in agreement, which annoyed me somehow even when he was supposedly on my side.

"Let me digest a minute. I want to make sure I tell it correctly. I'm still trying to figure out how everything happened EXACTLY but it's not easy going on so little information. Let me think," Lexi said, closing her eyes.

Kyle:

Eric gave a long drawn out sigh causing me to glare at him in annoyance and mouth a bad word at him. He clicked his tongue back. “Take all the time you need babe.” I said more to annoy Blakely than for her benefit.

Lexi tried hard not to make a face when he said that. After a moment, she opened her eyes. "From what I got...Marie took Michael and Krissy. She's...more or less convincing him to join her side. Krissy tried to escape but after a while, Marie let her go and she tried to come find us. That's the basics of it."

Kyle:

“Wait- Marie? Like my aunt Marie?” I asked in confusion. “Marie wants Michael? Not Krissy and Kyle? That’s different..” Eric leaned against the wall to ponder it. “Wait- How did you get she wants Michael from that?” I demanded. “That’s what she said. Did you not just hear her?”

((Alright. One more round of posts before I pass out...))

"Krissy told me. It makes sense. He's way out of our league, even with our training and I hate to admit but we're out of practice on top of it. If he's become convinced that we're the enemy, he might attack us. But if we go in, guns blazing, Marie will kill us all," Lexi explained, sighing. "All I can think of is to start training again."

Kyle:

“Sweetheart, some of us actually train continuously.” Eric said in a sickly sweet voice. “Don’t call her that, Blakely. Why are you even here?” I asked in aggravation. He smirked. “I’m waiting for Krissy. I found her after all, I think I should get to hear her full story first.” I put my hand on Lexi’s back. “Come on, lets go to our bedroom to talk, he clearly doesn’t need to hear this.”

"Sure..." Lexi said, glaring at Eric. As they walked past him she deftly wrapped her foot around his ankle and tripped him up, making him sprawl over the carpet. She didn't even aknowledge him as she walked with Kyle to their bedroom.

Kyle:

“God, I love you.” I whisper with a grin as I heard Eric hit the floor. “Dumb bitch.” He muttered but I chose to ignore it and open the door for Lexi instead.

Lexi giggled and kissed Kyle's cheek. "If he calls me a bitch again, he'll find himself a female in the morning."
