Perfect Assassins

Kyle:

I chuckled. “He’ll make one ugly female.” I commented then went back to being serious. “So You think Marie is going to try to come after us then? Or send Michael?”

((LOL. Not this chick. XD))

"Send Michael most likely," Lexi agreed softly. "But if he's not totally convinced yet, we have a couple days at best. Of course, she might just ignore us completely and play with her new toy. But I don't know."

Kyle:

I frowned. “Why did she keep Krissy so long if she only wanted Michael I wonder?” I sat down on the bed. I didn’t know my aunt well, but I knew she was a lot like my dad, and he had always got what he wanted. “I can’t imagine she would let Krissy go if she still needed her. Unless letting her go serves some other purpose…”

"To make Michael think she's abandaned him?" Lexi guessed, using the same theory she and Krissy had.

((okay, NOW it's bedtime. ))

Kyle:

“Maybe…. Does Krissy seem different to you?” I asked looking sideways at Lexi.

"She's seemed different to me since I woke up from my coma," Lexi admitted angrily, "Like nothing's the same anymore."

Kyle:

I nodded. “Maybe it will be good for her to be away from Michael. I know you liked him, but I think she’s been slowly changing ever since she met him.” I told her.

Lexi nodded, sighing softly. "She'll be depressed and he's a liability if we don't know where he is or even if he's on our side anymore."

Kyle:

“I don’t see what we can do about that. I hate to say it, but I agree that he’s out of our league. That’s why I always hated Krissy being around him..” I laid back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. “I think the best option is to hide out for a while. Find some reclusive place where we can hold up for a while. And I think you’re right about starting to train harder.”

Lexi nodded, watching Kyle and sighed. "OKay. You're right." she admitted, playing with a strand of her own hair. "Where would we go?"

Kyle:

“Mm, Nevada Maybe? Arizona? Kinda out in the middle of nowhere. It’d be cool to be out in the desert.” I said thoughtfully.

"Cool and desert don't belong in the same sentence," Lexi groaned. "But...can't we go somewhere foreign? Like France? Or England? If need be, we could stay near the coast. All of us could easily swim the England Strait."

Kyle:

I made a face at the ceiling. “It’s cold there this time of year isn’t it? Like really cold?”

"Fine. How about South Carolina or something? it's not snowing there." Lexi suggested.

Kyle:

“Or, we could go to the desert and get a nice big house in the middle of nowhere with flawless air-conditioning that you could control.” I pulled her close to me. “Come on, baby. It’ll be different. We’ve never lived in the desert before.” I kissed her neck lightly.

Lexi shivered slightly, knowing he was trying to manipulate her into agreeing...Sadly, it was working. "Oh, alright..." she sighed. "We can go to the desert."

Kyle:

I grinned. “You won’t regret it. I’ll find the perfect place, you’ll see.” I kissed her on the lips briefly. “I’ll make some calls right away… I think I left my phone down stairs..” I let her go and got off the bed.

Lexi sighed, flopping back onto the bed. "Fine...Can I go back to sleep for a bit before you make us leave?"

Kyle:

I smiled. “Sure baby.” I leaned down to kiss her forehead. “Sleep as long as you like. I’ll have everything ready in the morning. Love you."

"Love you too..." Lexi mumbled, easily falling back asleep.

Kyle:

I crawled back into bed sometime around seven in the morning after having made arrangements for the house as well as listening to Krissy’s story about what happened.

Lexi groaned softly when she felt him crawl into bed. She laid her head on his chest once he was settled in and snuggled up to him.

Kyle: 

"Mmm you're so warm."  I mumbled winding my arms around her body.  I got a few extra hours of sleep before I had an odd dream about the house shaking.

Krissy:

I climbed onto the edge of their bed and shook Kyle's shoulder.  "Kyle wake up.  I have bad news, really bad news. You need to wake up."  

Kyle:

I blinked awake.  "What?  What's wrong?"  I asked my sister.  She had a look on her face like someone had died, yet she wasn't crying so it couldn't have been Eric, unfortunately..  "You need to come see this.  Kyle, I'm so sorry."  she looked stricken.  I had a horrible feeling in my stomach.  This couldn't be good.

Lexi groaned and woke up with a start, covering her hand so she wouldn't scream. She was used to nightmares but if something was going on, she couldn't be screaming her head off just because someone woke her up unexpectedly from a nightmare. "What is it?" she asked, seeing both of their faces.

Krissy:

“Just come.” I stood up to give Kyle room to get out of bed then lead him downstairs where Eric met me. “It was set off by a cellphone.” He handed me the card flip phone. “What was?” I could hear the dread in my brother’s voice. I sighed and took him outside where the Maserati was reduced to a blacked out shell. “Oh no..” His shoulders slumped as he walked over to his destroyed car. “I’m so sorry Kyle.. I’m surprised the explosion didn’t wake you..”
