Perfect Assassins

Krissy:

I squinted a little but let it go. “Well you’re here now, and I’m here. And I wont be happy until you sleep.” I told him.

"We should wait for Kyle to come back. He needs to talk to you as your uncle is coming." I countered.

Krissy:

“What?” I asked taken aback and momentarily side tracked. “My uncle or Aalan?”

"Uncle. I don't think he meant Aalan." I said looking into her eyes.

Krissy:

“Huh, well that’s interesting…” I said thinking about it for a moment before looking him in the eyes. “You still need to sleep. I want you to look better than this if you’re going to meet my uncle.” I smiled, touching his cheek.

"I look fine..." I lied. I knew full well what I looked like, I just didn't want to look in a mirror and see.

Krissy:

“I always think you’re stunning. But I must admit neither of us are at are best right now, babe. Now stop fighting it and get some rest.” I insisted.

"No, I have only gotten to look at your mute self. I want to speak and watch my beloved. And see her face when I tell her that she is the most beautiful and wonderful person in the world and that I love her with all my heart." I retaliated.

Krissy:

I smiled softly. “I love you too. And the only thing in the world I want to do right now is lay here with you and listen to the sound of your breathing as you sleep.” I told him.

I narrowed my eyes, "That isn't fair...."

Krissy:

“Why not? I’ll probably fall back asleep too, I am tired after all.” I said as I nuzzled his shoulder.

Michael:

"So go to sleep darling. I promise to go to sleep if you sleep first." I said softly to her.

Krissy:

“Swear?” I asked looking into his eyes.

"Swear." I told her, closing my own to plant a kiss on her lips.

Krissy:

I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder and wound and arm over his chest. “I love you.” I said softly as I closed my eyes.

"And I you darling..." I whispered into her ear.

Krissy:

Usually I couldn’t fall asleep so quickly.  But I was weaker than usual, and it took less than a minute with my eyes close for me to be fast asleep.

I watched her sleep before my own eyes drifted closed. I didn't sleep immediately and it took me a while, even with my tiredness.

Krissy:

I was startled awake by a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see Kyle. I don’t know why the sight of him made me tear up, but it did. I sat up and hugged him, pressing my face into his chest.

Michael:

I had managed to sleep for an hour or so before I got up and sat in a chair. Once Kyle had come back I had left once more to get us food.

Kyle:

I held he carefully and rubbed her back. I kissed the top of her head. There was a lump in my throat but I swallowed it. “How are you feeling?” I asked her. She looked up at me and blinked tears out of her green eyes. “Tired mostly. Not much pain.” She said, but I could tell she was lying.

I stood in line once again, pushing two trays as I grabbed food from the line.

Krissy:

“I’m hungry.” I told him quietly. “I don’t think you’ll get much more than mush for a while sweetheart.” Kyle said. I made a face at him and touched my belly. “I should probably get re-bandaged. I took mine off.” I said a little guiltily. Kyle reached for the call button.

Michael:

I moved back to the room, knocking gently with my foot as my hands were too full to actually open the door.

Krissy:

I looked to the door as Kyle went to open it, hopeful that Michael wild feed me something other than mush.
