Perfect Assassins

I touched her cheek and then brought her lips to mine.

Krissy:

I put my own hand on the back of his neck to hold him to me as I kissed him back.

I kissed her happily, my body having missed doing this with her.

Krissy:
I pulled back after a moment to press my face into his shoulder again. Everything seemed clearer now, and I could really think about what happened.

I held her closer, really feeling the fact that I had been awake since she had gone to the hospital. But I pushed that aside as I focused instead on holding her.

Krissy:

“I’m sorry...” I whispered into his shirt.

"Nothing to be sorry for darling." I whispered to her.

Krissy:

“I have everything to be sorry for… I’m the reason we’re here.” I mumbled.

"Its Eric's fault not yours." I said fervently.

Krissy:

“I should have had him leave. I knew he was going to me a problem, he already had been I just kept hoping that he would stop…” I had a little ball of his shirt curled in one fist.

I shrugged my shoulder helplessly. I didn't think I could change her mind, and so I wasn't going to try.

Krissy:

I kept my face pressed into his shoulder for several more minutes before I was able to look at him again. I peeked up at his face then looked down. I frowned then and yanked the IV out of my arm.

I frowned and flicked her nose. "Why do you insist on doing that?"

Krissy:

“I don’t what’s in it… Besides I don’t need it whatever it is.” I answered. “You put it back, didn’t you?”

"Yes. You were stabbed and out of it for three days. You don't just get better magically darling." I told her. "Kyle and I have been worried sick over you..."

Krissy:

“Three days?” I asked then was quiet for a moment. “Oh…”

"Oh?" I asked in quiet confusion.

Krissy:

“I didn’t realize it was that long.” I said softly, my hand went to the cut on my belly that was yet to be re-bandaged. I ran my finger along the bumpy edge.

I nodded. "Kyle barely slept at all the entire time you were down." I told her.

Krissy:

“And you didn’t at all.” I guessed looking up at his face again and smoothing the hair back from his forehead.

I shook my head mutely, I hadn't at all.

Krissy:

“Baby,” I said softly, leaning up to kiss his forehead. “Go to sleep. I’m okay.” I told him gently. “I’ll stay here with you and watch you.” I smiled playfully.

I shook my head, "Nuh uh. You might wander off again." I challenged teasingly back.

Krissy:

“I wouldn’t have left if I had something so beautiful in my bed with me.” I said before kissing him softly.

"I was getting food for Kyle and...myself..." I said the last word kind of evasively, as I had also not really eaten anything either.
