Maleen:

I looked at him wide eyed in confusion. “Romantically? I hardly know anyone but you, Rina, and Wren…” I couldn’t tell, but my voice softened slightly at Wren’s name. “Besides, isn’t that for older people? I would hardly know what to do…” I mumbled bashfully.

I chuckled, "You aren't that young. And any of us could be a good match for you. Though I'm afraid I have my eyes on someone..." I paused and my eyes grew distant, "Though I don't think Rina knows."

Maleen:

My eyes got even wider and I gasped, covering my mouth with my hands in surprise. “No!” I exclaimed in disbelief. “You care for her? Rina?"

I sighed in defeat and nodded. "Odd right? Considering all the grief she gives me. Not to mention that I am much older than her. But yes, if I am not to lie to myself, then I do have romantic feelings for her."

Maleen:

I giggled like the sixteen year old girl I was. I couldn’t wait to tell Wren about this. “Why?” I asked with a giggle. “I know she’s pretty, but… Well she’s not very nice to you.”

"I am part of a race of warriors. Rina for all of her...mistrust of everyone is an exceptional fighter. It was that quality that started down that road. And well...she is attractive to me, and when she isn't wearing a grumpy expression, or yelling at me, she can be rather sweet." I said softly with a shy look towards Rina herself.

Maleen:

I smiled. “I hope she comes around. You deserve to be happy.” I said softly, then looked around for Wren before a thought came into my mind. “How old are you actually?”

I silently counted and then with a wry smile I replied, "I think I am around six hundred. I can give you a better idea once we are at my home. The records of my birth will be there."

Maleen:

I stared at him. “Seriously?” I asked astonished. I smiled and said, “Well you don’t look like it.”

"I am an elf." I told her softly. "I don't age like humans do." I finished as if that were obvious.

Rina:

I secured the man to a tree with rope then looked around for Maleen and Talon. I spotted them and made my way to them.

I looked up at Rina and then past her where Wren was hurrying over with Calan.

Rina:

I frowned and went to grab Maleen’s hand. “I’ll help her now.” I laid coolly. “Thank you for bringing her.”

Talon:

I nodded politely and set Maleen down on the ground from where I had been carrying her in my arms.

Rina:

I helped her stay upright. “How bad if it?” I asked her softly. “Its getting better I think.” She said quietly.

Wren:

I rushed over with Calan by my side. Worry gnawed at my gut as I looked at the wound Maleen had. I stopped a good ways away and Calan paused for only a second to glance at me before continuing over towards the group. I felt a rising anger growing within me, and I turned my gaze to the man who had hurt Maleen.

Dorian:

I watched the little group without much emotion. I caught the gaze of the young girl and raised my eyebrows at her. I thought it was very lily that one of these people would slide a knife into my throat this night. They seemed rather fond of the witch.

Talon:

I caught sight of Wren and I moved over to her, grabbing her arm and having to actually pull her away from the others. "Come on you, we need to talk and you need to calm down." I said quietly to her as I caught the rage in her eyes.

Calan:

I moved to Rina and gave her a small bow. "My ladies, if I may, I would like to offer my assistance at healing." I straightened and gave a gentle smile. "My name is Calan, I am Talon's second in command." The introduction was for Rina's sake, who I had yet to meet.

Rina:

“I’ve seen you talking with the girls before.” I nodded. “You can do magic? You can heal her?” I asked.

Calan:

I nodded and then let out a soft breath. "To heal her of the poison, I am going to have to do something that neither of you will like. And to prove trust, I will show you why for me what I will do is only in the interest of healing. If you have questions about what I show, save them for after the healing." My voice was the voice of a healer, leaving no room for argument, but also gentle and full of compassion.

Maleen:

“Okay…” I said softly, leaning my weight on Rina.

Calan:

"You are going to have to trust me on this one alright?" I said, and in two swift actions, I had a piece of armor removed, and the flap in my pants underneath pulled aside. Where there should have been genitalia, was a ragged scar. "The story of what happened will wait for when your feeling better. But I have had this for a long time. And perhaps because of it, I feel no physical attraction to people. I may have to do things that will be physical." I tied it back in place, and reattached the armor plate. I grabbed a waterskin and washed my hands before looking up at them. "I can help now if you would like."

Maleen:

I nodded wide-eyed, trying to hide my pity for him.

I knelt down and slowly rolled up the dress just on the side the wound was on. I pressed my hand to the cloth once the wound was exposed and it stayed in place a glowing rune where my palm had been. I inspected the wound and then covered it with both of my hands. I murmured under my breath as I sent my power into her. A portion went deeper into her, flowing up into her torso for what I would need to do later. But most was focused around the wound, binding the flesh and muscle together. Mending it, and assisting her body in healing it back to the way it once was. When I removed my hands, not even a faint scar remained. A quick tap and the rune holding the dress above her thigh vanished and the dress unrolled back to her ankles.

I stood then and looked her in the eyes. "Now, this next part is why I showed you what I did." I set a hand on her chest and closed my eyes. I gathered the power that I had sent here while healing her leg. Once it was all gathered I sent it out to purge the toxin, and in a minute or so it was done and the power faded away. I removed my hand and gave a gentle smile. "It should be better now."

Maleen:

When he was finished I stood up and tested my leg. When I found it perfectly healed, I inspected the hole in my dress and tested my magic by repairing it and removing the blood stain.
