Perfect Assassins

Krissy:

I kissed him gently and lovingly before leading him up the stairs and into the kitchen where Kyle was making some kind of pasta.

I kissed back, my fingers laced with hers as I walked.

Krissy:

I had spent a long day at the dress fitting with Lexi. She had selected a lovely dress, but it was too close fitting I thought. I didn’t like how the fabric hugged my body so closely. It made me look thin and frail. It had been an argument trying to get them to alter it so it wasn’t so flat on my belly. I knew I had annoyed Lexi in doing so, but I knew I wouldn’t feel comfortable in the dress as it was.
After the dress fitting Lexi took me shopping for other things that made me feel even more insecure about my body, and my scars, particularly the one on my belly. By the time we got home I was exhausted.
I did want to marry Michael, despite my life long feelings on the matter, but this all seemed so rushed and overwhelming.

I sighed softly through my nose as the paramedic wound a bandage down my arm. Second degree burns, six lacerations, a small bruise under my left eye, and the need for eighteen stitches going up my leg. I lifted my eyes to survey the wreckage ahead of me. No deaths, a small miracle I felt. My eyes slid over to Kyle who was also getting a bit of treatment from a paramedic. My head turning to the other side could see Jack, grinning and chatting cheerfully with his medic.

Even with all the injuries, and the tongue lashing I was sure to receive from Krissy...I knew I was in some form touched by all this. But I also learned something important from this. Jack was never going to plan a bachelor party again if I could help it. Ever.

Kyle:

Somehow I had managed to get away with minor injuries. I had a burn on my arm, and a few cuts. “Krissy’s going to kill you, Jack. You might just have the honor of being her last victim.” I said as the paramedic wrapped my arm.

Jack:

I laughed and leaned forward, "Well I suspect that she might know something like this was going to happen. I offered to do a bachelorette party. But she said to come and take Michael out instead." I gave him a bright smile and Michael groaned. "Jack, never again. You are not going to throw anyone anymore bachelor parties."

Kyle:

“Thank God I’m already married.” I muttered. “Better not let him throw any parties of any kind.” I advised.

Michael:

"I try to avoid letting him do the planning. He can be very helpful if you tell him what you need. But if he is left on his own to plan what ever he wants..." I trailed off with a shrug and gestured around us.

Kyle:

“We should avoid giving the details of what went on here to any of the girls..” I said with a little grimace. I had a feeling that I would somehow be blamed.

Michael:

"Agreed." I stated though Jack whined before giving in.

Kyle:

“We should head back to the house. Assuming you haven’t gotten to the car yet.” I said with a look toward Jack. “I still think you’ll have hell to pay with Krissy. All of us will.”

Jack:

I just grinned and laughed.

Michael:

I shook my head slowly and let out a soft breath as I knew that Kyle was probably right. There would be hell to pay when we got home.

Krissy:

When I heard the car pull up outside I hurried out and ran to Michael when I saw him get out of the car. I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him. “Lexi made me do all these-“ My eyes widened when I actually focused on his face.
“What the hell did Jack do to you?”

Michael:

I wound my arms tight around her waist so that she wouldn't try to attack Jack. "There was an accident at the party. I'm fine honey, just a bit banged up. You know he means well..."

Krissy:

I touched the bruise under his eye. “You don’t look very fine.” I said flatly then squinted at Jack over Michael’s shoulder. “I said no bodily harm.” Then I glanced at Kyle and saw the bandage on his harm.
“And you got my brother!” I made a lunge toward Jack but was restrained by Michael’s arms around me.

"Hey, Krissy, Krissy." I sighed and just picked her up by the hug and carried her bodily from the room. "Calm down, I will let you go only when you are calm."

Krissy:

I squinted at Jack as Michael carried me away. “I am calm.” I said stubbornly. “Where else are you hurt?” I asked in concern, touching the bruise under his eye again.

"You can strip me later to look at what was done. But first, I want you to promise you won't do anything to Jack. If it makes you feel better, call it even between you and him. He put his life on the line to save Kyle remember?" I said quietly, my fingers rubbing small circles on her back.

Krissy:

I worked my jaw considering. He had risked his life for Kyle… “Can I just slap him?” I asked, looking up at him.

I sighed softly and closed my eyes, "If you feel you must..." I opened my eyes, and watched her while I let my arms relax around her.

Krissy:

I looked up at him, feeling like I had disappointed him somehow. “Did you have fun?” I asked, running my hand lightly through his hair.

"I did. It was an interesting experience being able to cook our own meal in a restaurant. And your brother is good at the grill. Our only mistake was letting Jack mix our drinks...especially around flame. He can make a mean cocktail, but after a while he tries to do tricks...and it all ends badly." I said, reaching a hand up to stroke her cheek.

Krissy:

I smiled fondly. “Whenever Jack does any kind of trick with anything, it usually ends badly.” I added.
