Perfect Assassins

I was sitting in the kitchen on the floor my back to the counter. I was twirling a knife acrobatically around my hand and fingers, making it do flips and tricks. My eyes however were not on the knife, they were focused ahead, staring at nothing as I was lost in my thoughts.

Krissy:

I flopped down the floor and crawled over to him. He still had the smudges meant to be whiskers, though the ears ant tail had fallen off when he had picked me up. “What are you doing?” I asked softly, watching the knife in his hands.

"Thinking. I'm...nervous. Scared...terrified really. I could face any assassin, kill a person a million different ways, stare death in the face and offer him any gift he desired. But as..." I ran my free hand over my face while the knife started moving faster, but always in control. "Would you think I'm...bad if I said that I am terrified of our wedding. Marrying you is all I could ever ask for in the world. And yet at the same time, something about the entire thing scares me."

Krissy:

I smiled softly and wiggled under his arm that he wasn’t using. “It isn’t bad darling. It’s natural. I’ve felt that way from the beginning. You forget, I never wanted to get married before you asked.” I told him. “It could be worse though… You could also be preparing to be a father.” I said a little sadly. I had mixed feelings over the matter. One had I was regretful of a life that we could have had, and that I would never be able to meet Michael’s child. On the other hand, I hadn’t been prepared to be a mother, and the thought of it terrified me, so I was relieved, and I felt horrible for feeling relieved. Mostly I tried not to think about the whole thing. But sometimes it was hard not to.

"If...if we were going to have children. Would you want a girl or a boy?" I asked after a moments thought. That had also been on my mind. The loss of our child, but it had been set aside as I dealt with the stress of the wedding.

Krissy:

I rested my head on his shoulder. “A boy probably, one who looked like you.” I said softly. “And then if we already had the one, I might want another one, a girl, so they could take care of each other.”

I smiled softly, "And names?" I asked my hand rubbing her shoulder while my lips planted a light kiss on her head.

Krissy:

“I never thought about it. Something starting with a ‘K’ maybe.” I said and looked up at him. “What about you?”

I thought for a moment. "Kalin for a guy. But for a girl...Kira maybe? Ah well. No use dwelling on what could have been." I kissed her temple and held her close. "Think you can make garlic bread to go with the meal?"

Krissy:

“I can, but it’ll cost you a kiss.” I said with a soft smile, my hand found its way up to his hair to curl in it.

I cupped her face and gave her a kiss. It held all my love, all my contained passion, and every single bit of my feelings for her.

Krissy:

I kissed him back lovingly, and hungrily. My hand tightened lightly in his hair, not wanting to let him go.

I felt her hand tighten in my hair and I gripped her own in one of mine.

Krissy:

I gave a little groan into the kiss, knowing he wouldn't agree to come back to the bedroom with me, and if he did, he wouldn't do what I wanted. Hearing a familiar clearing of the throat, I jumped away from Michael and flushed pink. Kyle came in looking annoyed to see us kissing.

I gave a wave to Kyle. "dinner is nearly done. Just have to do the pasta and some garlic bread. Do you want me to prepare a plate for Lexi to take back to the room?"

Krissy:

I noted his ruffled hair and the fact that his shirt was inside out. “Uh, that would be nice actually.” He said, dropping his annoyed manner. I got to my feet grabbed the bread, turning my back on him to slice it.

I offered him a gentle smile and set about preparing the pasta so that Lexi could have something to eat and soon.

Krissy:

I sliced the bread, buttered it, and sprinkled garlic powder over it and put it in the oven. "If you want, I can bring you both a plate when it's done." I said, turning to face my brother. "That'd be great, thanks." He smiled at me. "Real quick," He said as he filled two glasses with water. "Why is Jack made up like a dog?"

Michael:

I opened my mouth to answer when I heard a soft noise from the living room. Jack was awake now it seemed. A few seconds later I heard a shout. "Oh. My. God!" Jack came rushing into the kitchen going right past Kyle and right to Kissy. "I love it! I love it I love it I love it. I totally am a puppy huh! On hallowween can you do this for me again?" He embraced her and spun her around in a bear hug, dog tail fanning out as he spun her.

Krissy:

I grinned and nodded enthusiastically. “I can do it with actual paint next time.” I said happily, grinning up at him.

"Then come Halloween I'm coming to you first!" Jack declared with a laugh. I shook my head and gave the sauce and the noodles a quick stir.

Krissy:

Kyle rolled his eyes and left to go back to his room. "I tried to do Michael too, but that didn't work out as well." I told jack, gesturing to the cat tail and ears that had fallen off my beloved.

"I still have the whiskers." I remarked from the stove, turning my face towards Jack just slightly so he could see the three black lines on my cheek.

Krissy:

I stepped over and kissed his rough cheek. “You have more than just those whiskers, love.” I said with a little smile.

I flashed her a grin and nodded, "Alright, alright. I'll shave after dinner."
