Perfect Assassins

"Oh." I tilted my head down to rest on top of her head. I turned the book a bit as well so that she could see it better.

Krissy:

I wrapped an arm around his chest and snuggled up. I closed my eyes for a moment. I was always happiest when I was around people I loved. They made me feel whole, and safe.

I wrapped an arm around Krissy while grabbing the remote control with the other hand. I turned on the tv and changed it to some crime show for Jack before picking up my book again.

Krissy:

I tried to read along with him, and even though he was slowing down for me, he still read faster. After a few pages I let my eyes slide close and just listened to the steady sound of his heart beating. I fell asleep against his shoulder not much later.

Michael:

I smiled softly at the sleeping girl against me, and I looked over to see Jack too had fallen asleep. I shook my head in amusement and carefully extracted myself from Krissy, laying her down in my spot. I got a blanket for both of them before leaving for the kitchen to cook up dinner.

Krissy:

I snuggled down into the comfy sofa in my sleep. A little while later I woke up feeling something heavy on my legs and butt. I looked over my shoulder to see Jack asleep, while half laying on me.

Michael:

I took my time making an Alfredo sauce, and toasting up some garlic bread. It was all nearly complete, I was finishing up on the sauce and cooking up the noodles as well as some breaded chicken for those of us who enjoyed meat.

Krissy:

I tried to wiggle my way off the couch. Jack was a fairly heavy man, and well, I was still fairly feeble from my injure. I hadn’t been able to work out as much as I’d like due to one certain brother not letting me lift anything heavy or stay in the basement long enough to work up a good sweat.
“Jack get off my butt!” I burst out louder than I meant to after trying on vain to pull myself out from under him using the side table as an anchor.

Jack:

"No...your butt is big and comfy..." I murmured, giving a lazy stretch with my legs. My shins and feet dangled off the end of the couch, and my hand rested on the ground. The other I reached up to lay across her back to hold her down while I napped.

Krissy:

I looked back at him in mute irritation then started thrashing my legs under him to kick him off. “It. Is. Not!” I yelled and reached back to swat the top of his head.

"Mmm...massage bed...." I murmured when my pillow started thrashing under me. I tried poking it absently, to find some kind of switch to make it go gentler. But in the end her thrashing made my torso slide off the couch so I was half laying on the floor, half on the couch.

Krissy:

I was finally able to wiggle out. When I got to my feet I straightened my twisted top and smoothed down my hair. “Jack?” I asked, kneeling down to see if he was still sleeping.

I mumbled and gave a mumbled giggle, the combined message being something along the lines of, "Butts...hehehe....."

Krissy:

Suddenly an idea came to me and I grinned as I hurried off to find a couple things. I wondered into the kitchen. “Have you seen Lexi’s little bag?” I asked Michael, looking in all of the chairs and on the counter tops.

I shook my head, "I haven't seen Lexi much if at all for a while. You might have to ask Kyle instead."

Krissy:

“I don’t need Lexi… She’s getting on my nerves any way… I just need her bag.” I muttered as I continued to look.

I arched an eyebrow but decided not to comment on that. I couldn't imagine two girls being closer than Krissy and Lexi. "What do you need the bag for?"

Krissy:

“Make up…” I said dismissively “Ah-ha!” I exclaimed as I found it in the window seat under a pillow.

Michael:

I had followed after her, my eyebrow raised once I saw what she had in her hands. "Oh my. That is going to be interesting..."

Krissy:

“What? It’s not for me.” I said absently and headed back to the living room where jack was sleeping mostly on the floor.

Michael:

I raised an eyebrow, "Not going to be his first time waking up with that on his face." I remarked absently leaning against the wall. Jack's shirt was half ridden up on his back, showing a scarred and dangerous past. I knew all about that past. Jack was my best friend and the closest thing I had to a brother.

 

I flicked my eyes towards the hallway, glancing back to Jack's face every now and then to see how the work was coming along.

 

"Did you do anything? He looks no different from before." I stated innocently, as if Jack had always looked like a puppy.
