Rina:

I laid back on the cold stone, folding my hands in my lap. “Tomorrow, with the… You know.” I gave a small sigh.

"Ah....I imagine we will be well treated, but they will be quick to judge and try to over analyze us for everything we do. Vampires in my experience are cocky, viewing the world through harsh lights. They believe themselves to be better than anyone else and so they talk and gossip about those in their realm. Small things can confuse them, the little emotions that people have. They are immortal, the sense to rush is just in their nature." I admitted softly to her.

Rina:


I was more anxious about it than I had reason to be. He was right, we probably would be treated well, While vampires were vicious creatures, they were still people. They could be civilized. I couldn't figure out why I was so scared of them. “Thank you for coming with me.” I murmured quietly.

"It is my pleasure" I replied softly, settling into a more comfortable position. "I'm happy that you let me come with you. I know things have been...tense between us for a while now..."

Rina:

“Yes… I'm sorry about that.” I said with a little sigh. I thought about the inn and how poorly I had handled the situation.

I shrugged, "Things happen for a reason. Or so people tell me."

Rina:

I looked up at the dark pink fading to purple sky. "I feel like this is going to change things. It wont be the same once we finish this. I don't know why I feel this way... Maybe they will have information that can help our side." I said after a few minutes of silence.

"No. Thing won't be the same. What will you do then Rina? Fight the change? go with the change? Or will you direct the change for your people? Remember, this isn't about you right now. You do this for those you care about same as I do." I reached across the space between us to settle a hand over hers.

Rina:


“I've always fought for the people. Everything I've always done has been for them.” I said with a little frown. That did put it into prospective. I was scared of the Vampires, but I was doing it for a cause. I looked over at him.

"But you must also do it for you. You must fight for yourself as well." I finsished softly, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

Rina:

I dropped my gaze. Of course I did. I was more selfish than he could know. I could do more for my people if I stepped up, if I came forward as my true self. Fighting as I did really was for myself. I frowned.

My head tilted but I let it go. Removing my hand I gazed at the water before us, my thoughts swayed this way and that working on plans, tactics, and other ways to battle the next day should it come to such.

Rina:

I took in a deep breath, closed my eyes, and let it out slowly. I would be happy when this was all done.

I let out a soft sigh before I shifted into a meditative pose. I kept my eyes open but my breathing light and even.

Rina:

The sky was now completely purple with edges of deep blue, and stars peeking out through the wispy clouds.
“We should head back to the house now.” I said quietly, so as not to disturb the peaceful setting.

"Okay." I started to stand before sitting back down and looking into her eyes. "Thank you for this Rina."

Rina:

I raised my eyebrows. "What do you mean? I didn't do anything." I responded with a confused look.

"You treat me like I'm normal. An unusual thing as you have seen for your race." I told her with a gentle smile.

Rina:

I got to my feet and brushed myself off.  “Well, I don't know if I would say normal...”  I grinned at him.   “But I just treat you like you're a person.  It doesn't matter that you have different abilities, or looks from a human.  We are all people.  Maleen showed me that.  And Wren.  They're better people than anyone I know.”

"And for that I thank you...but I have to agree. Maleen and Wren are some of the best people I have ever known." I smiled at her, "Don't sell your own self too short either Rina."

Rina:

My grin faded to a half smile. “Yes, I know I'm wonderful.” I said jokingly. I didn't know why he said it though, I hadn't been the kindest person to him, nor had my actions shown a good character. “We should get a good nights sleep before tomorrow.”

I laughed easily and shook my head. "Alright, alright. Let's get back then."

Rina:

When we got back to the house Mrs. Moroe had a basin of hot water and a cloth for each of us. I scrubbed off then climbed into bed wearing a clean undershirt that covered down to my thighs.

I bowed to the woman, taking the cloth to scrub myself clean. I did what I could to make the family feel more at ease, slumping my shoulders, bowing my head, not looking them in the eyes. It felt like forever before I could close the door behind me with a sigh as I stood within our room without my armor. "Is it alright if I change?"

Rina:

“Of course.” I answered rolling so he could have privacy. Aero and Iris chirped and huddled together on the head board.
