Naveen

Talon:

I left the chamber, my breathing hard. I left the temple to stand on the temple steps. "Guards! Bring me Dorian." I yelled, while drawing a blade from my side.

Dorian:

I watched the two girls I cared about, Maleen because I had sworn to protect her, and because she was so gentle and kind it was hard not to want to protect her. Wren I had come to care about separately. She was kind and gentle like Maleen, she was so innocent, and beautiful, and pure. I was slowly falling for her, I couldn’t stop myself.

Calan:

I had my weapons drawn, as I pushed open the door to the library. "Dorian. Come with me." I said softly, with a soldier in full armor on either side.

Dorian:

I looked up in surprise to hear my name called. I barely talked to anyone but the two girls and occasionally Rina. I got up slowly and made my way to the guards.

"Are you armed? If you are with anything turn it over now Dorian. I am sorry for this." I said, pointing at his throat with a blade.

Dorian:

I held my hands up cautiously. "What is the meaning of this?" I asked calmly, my tone cool, my face carefully expressionless.

Maleen:

My eyes went wide as I watched what was going on. Why were they threatening Dorian. I got up to my feet. "Stay here." I murmured to Wren before hurrying over holding my skirt up with one . "Calan? What's going on?" I asked softly.

"Answer the question, I would rather this didn't end up messy. Are you armed?" I repeated my eyes never leaving Dorian as I answered Maleen's question. "Talon is asking for him. That is all you need to be aware of."

Dorian:

Maleen started to say something but I held out my hand to stop her. "It's okay Maleen. Go back with Wren." I told her. I pulled out the only weapon I had on me, a simple dagger from my boot, and handed it over to Calan. My face remained impassive.

Calan:

I took the blade from him, moving closer to say softly, "I'm sorry for this. I don't know why we are doing this. But orders are orders."

Dorian:

I nodded. "I understand, Take me to Talon." I said, but I didn't know why he would want to talk to me like this. I had done nothing wrong while I was here. I had fulfilled my part of the deal to keep Maleen safe, and he had done his. I hadn't laid a hand on her, in fact, I quite liked her. I though it had to be something to do with one of the girls, Rina perhaps? He seemed to have a special interest in her.

With a motion the guards surrounded him and I led the way blades still drawn while each guard had one drawn as well. I felt he should feel honored, he was going to see our precious temple that no other outsider had seen in centuries.

Maleen:

I watched him go, twisting my hands together in worry. I knew Dorian wasn't exactly a good guy, but he had been nothing but nice to us since he had tried to kill me. I stood there until they were all out of sight, then I went back to Wren.

Callan:

I led Dorian along, keeping silent as I made my way towards the temple hidden deep in the fortress.

Dorian:

I didn’t speak either. My eyes watched the ground as we walked. I had never been in this direction of the palace before. I didn’t know where we were going.

Talon:

I looked up from where I sat on the steps of the temple, my eyes half closed as I focused on Dorian and his guards.

Dorian:

I looked around me, studying what must have been a temple. It was exquisite. My eyes finally fell of Talon and I felt trepidation rise in my chest. For the first time since I had tried to Kill Maleen I saw him as a threat. A million reasons for why I was here ran through my head, but none of them seemed more likely than the other.

"Leave us." I commanded softly, my eyes never leaving Dorian. I waited until they left before reaching beside me and tossing his weapon to land by his feet. "Draw your blade. I took the liberty to take it from your room."

Dorian:

My eyes raked over my sword s sudden infuriation flashing through my eyes. I was quick to cool it before I looked up to him, my face once again impassive. “What is the meaning of this?” I asked him the question I had asked the guards. I didn’t move to pick up the blade he had thrown to me. I knew he was vastly stronger and more experienced than I was, if he was expecting a duel it would only be to humiliate me. What was this? Some kind of ritual to be performed in the temple?

"What is your mission?" I asked, slowly getting to my feet as I drew a blade from over my shoulder.

Dorian:

I watched him with apprehension confused by his question. “You had be swear to protect Maleen. Have I done something to violate that?” I asked coolly.

I crossed the distance between us in a flash, using my full powers to move faster. I got a foot planted on his chest and I shoved him hard away to the ground. I lowered my foot to his blade, kicking it across the ground to end at a stop beside him.

Dorian:

My hand instinctively went out to grasp the hilt of my sword. My breathing was slightly faster and my expression hard. "What is the meaning of this?" I asked through my teeth. "I have done nothing wrong here."

"What is your mission?" I repeated again, drawing an even breath as I moved slowly closer towards him.

Dorian:

I got to my feet carefully and held my sword in front of me, not raised but in a defensive position. "I have none other than what I have told you." I said firmly, still baffled by his actions.

I spun my sword absently, my eyes not even on him. "You are the first human to see our temple you know. The first one who will know our secrets. We were made to be guardians for when the one who gave us the moon comes again."
