Dorian:

Was this some religious thing then? That was the only thing I could think of that would explain this. "Why am I here then?" I asked, breathing through my nose.

"Because you are a hypocrite." I said as I looked him over my expression unreadable. "What is your mission?" I repeated for the third time. "Think hard, another wrong answer and your blood spills."

Dorian:

"What are you referring to? Do you mean my job as a hunter? Suspended for the moment because of you. You know this. There is nothing I haven't told you." I was angry now and I was only barely keeping it in check.

I snorted. "Pathetic...how much research have you done? You wish to kill all of her children right?" I spun my blade again, "All of those connected with her."

Dorian:

"Yes. That is my purpose. There are others like me, I'm not alone in it. It's for the greater good, some must be sacrificed in order to remove evil from the world. I don't enjoy it, but it must be done." I said fiercely. I truly believed it.

I stopped then lifting the sword to point at him. "What is your name. Your full birth name?"

Dorian:

I hesitated to answer, but I could tell that any wrong move would set him off. “Dorian Pharis Alcain.” My family had been a wealthy one, until my father had gambled away the fortune. Some would recognize the name, I hoped Talon wasn’t one of them.

"And your parents birth names?" I asked while my blade flicked back and forth.

Dorian:

My knuckles were white from clenching the hilt of my sword. “Allister Alcain, and Elanna Moorose.” I said stiffly. “Why?”

"What did you hunt?" I asked changing the course of the topic. I could see his anger, but I was going to force him to understand.

Dorian:

“The descendants of the sorcerer Naricia. She cannot die until her bloodline has ended.” I nearly growled it.

"Fall on your sword Dorian." I commanded softly with a look close to pity.

Dorian:

I was taken aback. “Excuse me?” I looked at him with distain.

"Fall on your sword." I repeated with out a change in voice or expression.

Dorian:

I just stared at him coldly. “What are doing? What am I doing here?” I demanded, still holding my sword lowered.

"You didn't believe it was possible did you." I shook my head slowly. "Dorian Pharis Alcain I charge you as a descendant of the witch Naricia."

Dorian:

Dumbfounded, I stared at him. It took me a minute to wrap my head around what he had said. “No, that’s ridiculous.” My voice was slow.

"My people were blessed and assisted by the moon priestess. We are to be the priestess's protectors should she ever call for us. She tied us to the moons power, showed us how to be stronger than any others, and gave us a chamber where we can learn much. I am not lying to you Dorian." I spoke softly.

Dorian:

My blood turned cold. I couldn’t process it, I could not be what I had dedicated my life to hunt down. “I can’t be.” I whispered, but I was starting to believe it now. It suddenly made sense why he brought me here.

"I am here to offer you a choice Dorian. You can fall on your sword now...or you can keep up your hunt. I have seen the way you look at Wren and Maleen. Time is just as effective of a killer as a blade. Hunt the rest of your family, grow old and die with the girls. Or kill yourself. You are of her bloodline. There is no going back." I told him quietly.

Dorian:

I squeezed my blade even tighter. I should do it now, I was my final target. Every one of her decedents had to die didn’t they? But couldn’t I do more good if I continued my mission? If I protected Wren and Maleen as he said?

“Why didn’t you just kill me?” I asked.

"Because your mission is not mission. I don't care about the descendants. However. I respect you enough and know that you care for the girls. Better for them to believe I killed you when you take your life than for them to know that you are the very thing you swore to destroy." I said softly.

Dorian:

I dropped my sword. “I- I need some time to think about this.” I said shakily. I felt like I wasn’t getting enough air.

"Sit down." I said softly my own sword sliding back into its scabbard.

Dorian:

I sat down where I was, on the floor. I put my head in my hands and just looked at the ground.
