Naveen

I knelt down and set a hand on his shoulder. "You know what you are, but you can keep going. You made a promise, and people care about you. Let time do its work, hold onto your promises."

Dorian:

"I've killed dozens of people like me. How can I justify that, if I wont take my own life now?" I wasn't really talking to him, just thinking out loud.

"Because you know, because you want her reign to end. So finish the job. Just save yourself for last." I told him.

Dorian:

I was still and quiet for several moments. "You're right." I said finally, but my voice was distant.

"Do you know why I summoned you like I did? Because if I hadn't...the others would have been upset. They care for you, and I can play a bad guy better than you can Dorian. You aren't evil, you aren't going to bring about the reign of destruction you imagine. You are a competent swordsman, a good companion, and a better man than any I have met." I said softly before slowly standing.

Dorian:

I got up to my feet slowly. What he said was flattering and I would have been pleased to hear it under any other circumstance, but right now I felt dead inside.

I placed my hands on his shoulders, starting to guide him back through the fortress.

Dorian:

“I got it from here.” I told him once we reached a hallway I knew.

Talon:

I nodded and watched him go, my gaze sad. It had been an impulse to tell him, and one I now regretted.

Maleen:

I sat next to Wren at the table she and Dorian had been using. I had encouraged her to keep reading, I didn't want her to worry, even though I was sick with it. I couldn't imagine why Talon had summoned Dorian in such a fashion.

I stuck with reading, asking questions on harder words before I just stopped in the middle of a sentence. I opend and closed my mouth several times before looking up at her in worry. "Is Dorian going to be okay? I want the three of us to always be together....should...should we go talk to Mister Talon? I'm sure it is just a mistake!"

Maleen:

I sighed and closed the spell book I was studying. “Maybe… I don’t know if he would want us meddling though…” I said softly, chewing on my lip as I thought about it.

I bit my lip and squirmed in my seat, "True....I really hope he is okay..."

Maleen:

I reached out and took her hand, squeezing it gently in my own. "I'm sure everything will be okay. Talon wouldn't do anything to him. He's a good guy." I assured her, trying to mask my own worry.

I nodded, lacing my fingers with hers. "Yeah... I suppose you are right..." I could still see the worry on her face so I tried to change the subject. "Do you think that I could fly eventually with my wings?"

Maleen:

“Oh, um. I’m not sure. Why wouldn’t you be able to?” I still held her hand with mine, it felt nice.

"I don't know, I just wonder...I haven't looked at them in a while...and I can't feel if they've gotten any bigger." I shrugged my shoulders, "I hope I can. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun to fly!"

Maleen:

"Haven't you flown before? I mean... Before you came here?" I asked in a hushed tone.

I shrugged, "Well...yeah but there it's effortless. You can as easily float as you could fly." I said just as hushed.

Maleen:

I put my chin in my hands and tried to imagine that. “I bet it was wonderful… Do you miss it?” I asked her.

I shrugged my shoulders a bit, "Maybe a little....but mostly...mostly I wish that I hadn't been cast out..."

Maleen:

“Why were you?” I asked softly, then realized it might not be something she would want to share. “You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to…”

I let out a soft breath and slowly told her everything, beginning awkwardly and fumbling as I didn't know how to explain with this language.
