Naveen

Rina:

Wait what? My eyes widened slightly at the information he had just given me. Surely that couldn’t be true… He hadn’t acted like that was the first time… I was too wound up in my thoughts to respond to Calan.

I shrug my shoulders and watched as Talon lopped off one of the beasts legs before dancing out of the way as the beast roared with rage.

Rina:

Turning my attention back to talon and the beast, I wondered what would happen if I stabbed it with one, or both of my daggers. Would their power be enough to kill it?

The beast began to move faster in its rage, once again slamming Talon from the front while a tentacle got his side from the back. The effect sent him tumbling off but he was on his feet in an instant, weapon in hand as he attacked and defended.

Rina:

Watching him fight the beast made me long to be out there doing something again. I wanted a purpose.

With a soft breath I turned away from the fight as it became clear that Talon was going to end it. I didn't need to see it to know that the beasts head would be removed. It was the only way to end the beasts. They could regrow limbs, lose thousands of those tentacles, but they would keep coming until the head was removed.

Rina:

I walked closer to see the end, going back to my place at the railing, leaning in closer, my enhanced eyes glued to Talon.

Talon

With one blow I severed the head from the mistwraith. I stood their panting as I gazed down at the creatures body waiting for any sign that it might not truly be dead. When I was sure it was dead, I moved towards the wall collecting my blades as I went. I climbed to the top of the wall and moved to sit on top of it as I drew in slow breaths to try and get my heart rate under control. I took a moment to unbuckle my weapons, tossing them before me before most of my armor joined it, leaving me sitting on the railing wearing nothing but leather pants that hugged my body.

Rina:

I watched him from where I was at the railing, my eyes studying his body. I resisted the urge to go over to him. Last time we talked it hadn't exactly gone well.

Talon:

I ran a hand through my hair before looking at my side where a bleeding wound existed. I pressed a hand to it with a small shake of my head.

Dorian:

Wren had made excellent progress in the few days I had been teaching her. Her writing had improved, though it was still messy. She could read simple sentences, and sound words out that she didn’t know. I had a map laid out over the table, and I was having her read out the names of the towns and villages, correcting her when she got it wrong.

Talon:

I let out a soft breath as I gazed at the temple doors before me. It had been a long time coming, me coming here. I didn't even bother going for permission from the temple's matron. She would have given it to me in a heartbeat then sent me on my way. My mother was simply like that. But even then she knew my end destination. The chamber in the inner sanctum. Where the moon shone brightest in a room full of crystal and diamond.

I didn't stall any longer and I pushed open the doors, moving into the temple of the moon.

Wren:

I sat back after a long time of studying giving a soft breath. "I'm thirsty, this is getting harder and harder!"

Dorian:

I chuckled and went to get her some water. “Here.” I offered her the glass and sat back down. “It will get easier. You’ve done so well so far.” I encouraged her with a smile.

I smiled shyly back at him as I sipped at the water. "Did you get Maleen one too?" I asked.

Talon:

I moved through the temple, heading deeper and deeper into it. The chamber was deep into the mountain, and the temple itself was void of anyone I could hear.

Dorian:

I shook my head. “Maleen is off in the corner reading one of the books she found in the spell section.” I told her, glancing in the direction I had last seen the witch.

"Well..." I thought for a moment before getting up with a smile. I took another sip of the glass before taking the rest of the water over to Maleen. I dropped to my knees beside her and offered out the water. "Hey, are you thirsty? Dorian got me water and I wanted to share with you."

Talon:

I soon made it into the inner sanctum, I stood outside the doors to our holiest chamber. I looked over the walls, telling the tales of our people. I ran my fingers lightly over the mural before I went to the chamber doors. I pushed them open and stepped into the bright room beyond. In the center was a shaft of moonlight, shooting light into dazzling colors everywhere.

Maleen:

I looked up when she distracted me form the spell book. I grinned at her. “Thank you. That’s very sweet.” I drank half of it and handed it back to her. “How’s the reading going?” I asked, looking at her with adoration.

"It's going good! Though everything has a funny name I think..." I giggled softly and met her adoring gaze with one of my on.

Maleen:

“You should try reading this book.” I nodded to the spell book in my lap. “It has all sorts of funny names in it. Some even I have trouble pronouncing.” I grinned at her.

I giggled softly and settled down beside her. "Read some of them to me!" I requested with a smile as I leaned close to look at the book in her lap.

Maleen:

“Uhh.” I looked down at the pages. “Avifors, that’s a spell to turn something into a bird. Umm, let’s see… Tarantallegra, is a spell to make someone dance, more spesifically…” I leaned in closer to read the small text. “To make someone dance uncontrollably.” I grinned and looked up at her.

I giggled again, "Wow...those words really are hard to say." I looked at her impressed. I was struggling with simple names of towns and cities and landmarks. She was doing so much better at this.

Maleen:

I looked back down at the page and my eyes caught on a spell. It was to change one’s appearance. It could be used to alter little things, such as changing pointy elves ears to round human ones, or changing the entire form of a body. I eyed Wren.

I had gotten distracted trying to pronounce a word from the book. 'Saveriantia', a spell to make food sweeter though I hadn't read what the spell did.

Maleen:

I smiled watching her and let her try for a little before I helped. “Almost,” I told her kindly. “Saveriantia.” I pronounced it, then read the spell effects for her. That would be a simple one for me to practice.
