Saved for Macha

"I'm gonna go put my bag down. Then we can do....something!" I took the bottle with me along with my stuffed to the brim backpack as I hummed my way to the spare bedroom I used everytime I spent the night. I heard a knock on the door as I entered the room but I only paused for a second.

Emily:
The knock at the door startled me and I was glad she was in her room for the moment. I quickly rushed to the door as soon as she was out of sight and slowly opened it.

Michael:

I stood in my uniform, fiddling with a simple barret cap in my hands as I gazed out at the street again. Watching civilians was almost mesmerizing. So peaceful and calm here.

Emily:
"Hey..." I said softly. I took him in, uniform and all before I shook my head and stepped to the side. "Come on in, Lexi is upstairs putting her things away. I'll call her down." I said, giving him a small smile of encouragement. I stepped further into the house and called up the stairs. "Lex! Can you come down here? There's someone here to see you!"

I bowed my head to her after she greeted me. "Yeah..." Carefully I stepped inside after her and moved into the livingroom I had my back to the stairway as I looked around the room.

Lexi:

I hummed as I put my clothes neatly away in the dresser and placed my stuffed animal in the center of the bed before I heard Emily calling. I frowned wondering who it was at first but quickly went down the stairs. "Do I get to meet your boyfriend? Do you have one no-" I started to tease her but as I reached the bottom of the stairs and saw the figure the words died in my throat. Slowly the figure turned and I gave a soft cry as I instantly recognized who it was. Without a word I rushed across the living room as he knelt and we embraced each other tightly.

Emily:
Watching them reunite brought tears to my eyes and I looked away when my vision got blurry. I swiped at a few tears that fell and smiled at the obvious joy on Lexi's face. I didnt dare interrupt them.

"Lexi..." I murmured her name softly making her squeeze all the tighter. "I've missed you sis..." I could hear her sobbing into my shoulder and feel the trembles that ran through her entire form.

"I missed you too b-brother." Her voice cracked as she replied.

Emily:
I walked out of the room for a moment and grabbed a box of tissues from the bathroom and then went to get a couple more water bottles. I brought them back into the room after giving them a few minutes alone. "You okay Lex?" I asked, softly, holding out a few tissues.

Lexi sniffled and took the tissues from Emily. She wiped at her face and i couldn't help but smile softly as she kept one hand gripping my uniform. Pulling her head close i bent down to kiss the top of it gently before messing up her hair just like I knee she hated. It brought a scowl and a laugh from her before she extended an arm to Emily for a hug. "Thank you for this...". She said to the woman.

Emily:
I gave her a watery smile and shook my head before leaning in for a quick hug. "I didn't do anything but open the door," I said, giving her cheek a quick kiss as I pulled away. "But now thats he's here, I'm sure you guys want some alone time. I can go make something for lunch and stay out of your hair," I smiled.

Lexi:

I nodded and sniffled before looking up at my brother. My brother was back. It was a dream come true. I hardly noticed as he led us to the couch and as we sat together with his arm around me. It all felt so surreal, a dream. If it was a dream then next I would hear Emily say she wanted to adopt me out of my parents oppressive, neglectful life. I started to glance towards the kitchen but focused on Michael as he called my name softly.

"Do you want me to tell you why I left?" He looked almost scared and it made my heart ache for him. Rapidly I shook my head as his answer.

"You don't have too...I think I know it...but...um...could you tell me stories of what you did while you were gone?"

He smiled again and the world felt better once more. I hardly noticed him agreeing and beginning to tell his story but once I did I devoured every word that came from his lips.

Emily:
I went to the kitchen and started making a quick lunch of spaghetti with a marinara sauce while quietly humming to myself. I was really glad I hadn't let him leave without seeing her. She just seemed so happy and it was making me happy too. I set the table for two, fully intending to let them continue to talk over lunch with out my intrusion. I could go upstairs and read or something. I popped my head back into the room they were in and smiled. "There's lunch on the table if you two are hungry." I said.

(( I'm so sorry it's been so long! I've been going every which way and have only been able to log on and throw out a few replies here and there. I adore our rp and am going to work hard to get into it again. Promise!))

I looked at her and nodded, looking down at my sister as I asked softly, "Hey. Want to share lunch with me?" Her face lit up and she nodded rapidly, taking my hand to begin leading me.
"Yeah, are you going to eat with us too Emily? Please?" I could tell she was nervous, and it made my heart soften. Turning my gaze up to Emily I gave her a soft look and smile, grateful that she had become my sisters source of hope and guidance.

Emily:
I moved out of the way so they could get into the dining room and looked down at her. "Are you sure?" I asked, smoothing a hand down her hair. I looked up at Michael and melted a little at the soft look he had on his face. "I can set another plate for myself if you guys don't mind," I said, moving over to the cabinet and grabbing another plate. "What would you guys like to drink?" I asked, turned to Lexi. She knew what I had in the fridge.

Lexi:

I went to the fridge and grabbed the juice before standing on my stool to get the glasses. "Juice sound good?". Without waiting for a reply I began to pour three glasses. Then carried it over to the table. I turned to lokk at my brother who stood awkwardly in the doorway. Even now I could tell he wasn't sure what to do by the square of his shoulders and the look on his face.

Emily:
"Juice is great, thank you," I smiled at her and slid out a chair for Michael. "Come on and sit down before it gets cold," I said. I looked at Lexi. "I know you like spaghetti," I said and then turned my gaze to her brother. "I hope you do too. If not, I can make something else," I offered.

"No....i mean....home cooked is better than MREs of barracks chow.". He sat in the chair gingerly while I sat right beside him.

Emily:
I smiled. "Well I hope you like it," I said, sitting down and taking a sip of my juice. "Hey, Lex, later, you should take your brother up to your room and show him some of your art stuff," I suggested, picking up my fork.

"Yeah? Are you into art stuff?". I asked with a raised brow and a smile. She nodded happily while already stuffing her face with pasta. I chuckled softly and offered her my napkin, ignoring the scowl she gave me.

Emily:
"She's not just into it...she's incredible at it," I bragged a little, like a proud parent and smiled at her pasta covered face.

"oh yeah?". I glanced at my sis who was wiping at her face with the napkin. I could tell by her ears that she was blushing, the tips if them a good red.

Emily:
I smiled and nodded. "Oh yeah, she's amazing." I said, giving her a wink. "And thats not all she can do. This spaghetti is basically a pile of mush compared to when she gets in the kitchen," I said, grinning. I took a bite of my food. "The only thing I do is supervise the stove and handle the sharp knives," I laughed.

"Emily!" She groaned though a pleased smile lit up her face. I laughed softly and nudged Lex in the side. "Sometime you'll have to make me something."

Emily:
I grinned and gave Lexi an encouraging smile. "Hey, I'm allowed to brag," I said sounding like a parent again. I pushed my plate away when I finished eating and starting putting everything away. "I'm not sure if you guys wanted to do anything special today," I said as I went about cleaning up. "You can stay here and chat some more." I shrugged. "I'm not sure how long you wanted to stay today but if you want, we can go to the beach or see a movie..." I shrugged again. "I mean you guys can. You can borrow my car," I stuck my head in the fridge to put the cheese away and shuffled thing around to make room for the left overs.

"Movie sounds good right Lex? Though I'm not sure what's playing right now...". I glanced between them while picking up my scraped clean plate. I had downed two helpings while Lex had finished her single large plate.
