Body Guard

Julie:
I rolled my eyes and scrolled through my online shopping cart. "Stop acting like I'm such a terror. If you thought for one second I was going to leave this room, you would have been parked right outside the door," I said, turning my head to look at him from over my shoulder. "Stop snooping on my screen, what if i'm buying things for you?" I said, tilting it away from him. I was buying him a few things, like a hat that said "ladies man", but I was also buying underwear for myself and he didn't need to know about it.

I caught sight of some items on the cart that had my cheeks warm. Moving over to the fridge I grabbed a bottle of juice and brought it over. Dropping down on the couch a full cushion away I looked at her, "I trust you though...but I suppose you aren't terribly wrong."

Julie:
I looked at him when he plopped on the couch and smirked. "I'm never wrong," I corrected him. I clicked around to purchase my items and then closed the laptop. "I hope you like hats, because theres on coming your way," i told him.

Running my fingers through my short but messy hair I blinked. "A hat? I guess I like them well enough. But I'm not one to normally wear one." Twisting off the cap I took a long drink before continueing, "Dare I ask just what kind of hat?"

Julie:
"You cant ask, its a surprise." I told him, setting the laptop on the table. I got up and made my way to the fridge to grab some grapes. I threw one at him from the kitchen counter and put the rest in a bowl for a snack.

Gasping as the grape thumped into my shoulder I mock glared at her. Taking up the grape I threw it back at her. "Be nice or I'll tie you up."

Julie:
I laughed and grabbed another grape to throw at him. "You'd have to catch me first, old man," I teased, even though I was actually a bit older than him.

When she threw another grape I was going to do just what I'd threatened. But calling me old was enough to keep me planted. She had me beat by a few years, and though I was taller and stronger it wasn't often that she made me feel any older than her.

Julie:
I brought the bowl of grapes back to the couch and sat down again. "What? No come back?" I asked popping one into my mouth.

"Not often we bring up age." My mood had done a complete turn and I was no longer feeling so playful. Instead I was more thoughtful. "Never feels like I'm younger one...but technically I am. Nineteen years we've known each other."

Julie:
"Yeah, although the first ten or so, you were a pain in my ass," I told him. He had always been my bestfriend, there was so doubt about it. But when we were little, and I wanted to hang out with my older girl friends, he and his mud pies werent exactly the most fun to be around.

"I wasn't all that interested in the mudpies. I took joy from making you squirm. Really. All of your girl friends then seemed so odd to me. I didn't get why it was so interesting to play dress up." Chuckling softly I grinned at her. "Though I do rememeber someone wearing very expensive dresses while playing with me and the hunting dogs."

Julie:
I laughed at the memory of how mad my mother was at me. "I didn't know how expensive the dresses were," I defended. He never wanted to play dress up, or house with us. We always wanted him to play the house dog or something because he couldnt be the dad. Dads and moms were supposed to kiss and that was icky at the time. "You wouldn't play any of our games," I said.

"My choices were always the butler or the dog...what fun is that? Besides having a half dozen girls scream when you even touch them is never fun. But thinking about it...quite a few of them are no longer around. Do you keep up with any? I know Jessica still comes over. And Emily." I frowned as I tried to remember anyone else.

Julie:
"How are you forgetting Hannah?" I asked, popping another grape in my mouth. "She was in love with you from 6th grade till 9th," I said. He knew it too.

"Hannah...right. She was...weird..." MY mind was less on Hannah and more about what Julie was reminding me of. Quite a few girls had apparently had been in love with me.

Julie:
"She's still my friend, you know," I reminded him. "So maybe don't call her weird," I mock glared at him.

Rolling my eyes I reached over to steal a grape. "We went swimming and she stole my shirt, stashed it in her backpack."

Julie:
I took another grape to hide my laughter. Hannah was a bit weird. "I think she just figured if she stole your shirt, you'd have to walk around without one for a while," I shrugged.

"I was scrawny back then. I didn't start working out with my father and training until I was ten. So that would have been what. A year of work? Two years?" Shaking my head I sighed, "I'll never understand women."

Julie:
"Women arent really that confusing," I told him. "Men are just oblivious," I added. "In middle school, when I had a crush on Timmy Nelson, he didnt know about until three years later and by then i was already over it," i said.

She had a point there. Not only was I aware of her crush on Timmy at the time, but I also felt I was rather oblivious myself. "Women are confusing. But..." I looked her over for a moment, "I must be honest I haven't a clue who you are crushing on at the moment. Not my business but I used to be able to tell back then."

Julie:
I laughed and took another grape. "Maybe you dont know because there is nothing to know," i said, shrugging. Its not like there were a ton of guys on the grounds for me to mingle with and i dont get out at all without Cody.

"Really? For all the guys who want to be with you I figured at least one might catch your eye. Though, have you had another suitor lately? I remember that Will guy. He was going crazy trying to get you to date him." Snickering I stole another of her grapes. "Poor guy didn't know what he was getting into."

Julie:
I raised an eyebrow at him like I was offended. "Oh? And what exactly would he be getting himself into?" i asked. I wasnt sure who all these suitors were that he mentioned. Guys were rarely interested in me because of who my father was and the amount of security that followed me around on a daily basis. It was baggage to them.
