A Personal War (closed)

I took a step closer and looked at it closely, studying everything, so quiet. Until I stepped on a fallen branch and it snapped under my boot. I felt my eyes go wide and I looked at it, shocked I didn't see it there.

i heard a crack from behind the tent. I stood and sighed "you know the rule no sec..." i froze as i pushed aside the flap and came face to face with the girl from before

I looked up when I heard his voice and my face was a look of total shock. "I, um.. I'm going to just- uh." I was at aloss for words I was so shocked that I was caught.

"what are you doing here? Dont tell me you're lost"

"I'm not." I snapped and looked at him evenly. "I was taking the long way home, and remembered what you said. I got curious."

"ok chill" i looked around "so does this consul your curiosity?"

"A bit. Now I know what an army camp looks like." I said and looked around once more.

"good for you"

I smirked at him and stood straighter. "Well, I'm going to go. It gets dark, and the wild animals come out. So good night."

"be safe" i gave a polite bow "hopefully you're plantation isnt one they plan on raiding"

I shot a glare at him and gave a polite curtsy, turning on my heel and walking back into the woods. "The nerve of some people!"

i shrugged "just warning"

I pretended like I didn't hear that and continued into the woods. Here was the problem. It was getting dark, I didn't know my way in the dark.

i looked up at the setting sun and sighed. i grabbed a burning branch from the fire and followed her

I heard the brush move and I turned around. "I don't need you following me." I said and frowned.

"It's getting dark and as you said, that's when the monsters come out" i sighed "I have a guilty concious, if i found out you never made it back I would blame myself"

I smirked a little. "Boys having a healthy conciense. Blah." I muttered and kept myself in front of him.

"I'm not like other guys... guns and war dont interest me. Having a family and farm... thats what I want"

I stopped and looked at him. "Funny. That's the life I wish I had." I said.

i looked at her "see, everyone has things in common"

"Yes, only one thing. That's barely anything." I said and turned my back on him, going back towards the trail.

"well one thing can lead to multiple things" i followed carefully

I frowned and sighed when I saw the path. I walked out to it and turned around. "Well, thank you for walking me back to the path. I can well find my way in the dark."

i frowned "you sure?" i really didnt feel like leaving her alone in the dark

"N- yes." I said and stood up straighter.
