A Personal War (closed)

"I-I don't know Nik..." I admitted and frowned. I hated not being sure of myself anymore.

"I believe you wouldnt have been free if you'd not seen them...." i whispered

"Really?" I asked quietly, glancing at him

i nodded "yea, really"

"You think it's for the best even though I have nothing anymore?" I asked and sighed again.

"i think you'd always feel attached or bad... to have this is to set you free"

"Yeah free and miserable. If I ever went back to visit my sister he'd gun me down. Even ten years from now..."

"why would you go back?" i asked "even still, a father could never hold a grudge that long...." i added

"Aha... But you don't know my father... He's a stubborn man..." I sighed

"all men are stubborn" i said, "I could have just been a soldier but I picked the course i wanted and here we are"

"Well you know I'm thankful to have my best friend back with me." I smiled and looked at him.

i smiled too. "after this coming river we want to east, Boston should be our first stop"

"Alright." I said and sped her up a little, still wanting to get more distance between me and my former home.

i held on quietly

We got to the river and I stopped. "Which way is east?" I asked, not sure at all.

i checked my watch then looked at the sun "That way" i pointed

I followed his direction and rode her that way. "What are you planning on doing in Boston?"

"withdrawing my money, maybe investing in a new rifle, and definately getting a grant to settle a plot of land in the west"

"How long will we be staying in Boston?" I asked him, a little curious.

"no longer than a week, no less than two days" i said

"Alright." I nodded and kept going at the same speed, not really knowing what else to say as the whole realization started sinking in.

i wrapped my arms around her and squeezed her just alittle

I smiled a bit and slowed her down, leaning back against him and closing my eyes. "I love you Nikoli."

i smiled "I've been longing to hear thos words"

"You have been?" I asked and stayed there.
