Perfect Assassins

"Yeah, that jerk-off," Shawn growled in agreement. "I would give my soul to kill that b***** but someone else beat me to it."

Lexi couldn't help but smile as she looked up at Kyle. She remembered him pulling her out of the apartment as Zane, Melody, and Krissy killed Zach.

Kyle:

I glanced down at Lexi for a second then up at the guy again. "So you're what exactly? Why were you walking around the parking lot with a gun?" I asked.

"I'm an assassin, looking for my target. Someone by the name of Krissy Manning? You guys know her?" Shawn asked. Lexi immediately paled. "What? What did I say?"

Kyle:

"We've never heard of her." I said automatically.

((That isn't their last name you know though right?))

((nope. XD I forgot their last name to be honest. I could've sworn it was manning...))

Shawn frowned. "Then why is Lexi pale?"

"I don't feel good," Lexi lied, managing a weak smile.

((either way, I'm off to bed in a bit. I'm so...tired... And I'm working late tomorrow night.))

Kyle:

"She was recently shot." I said smoothing my hand over Lexi's good arm praying she'd relax. "Who sent you after this girl?" I asked casually lightening my previously cold tone although I hated him more now. "And do you happen to have a picture?" I asked hoping to confiscate it before he recognized the extreme resemblance between Krissy and me.

"Some guy in a cloak. He told me her last name was most likely fake, to hide her real identity, but here's her pick," Shawn said, taking out his phone and going to a specific picture. "Wait..." He looked up at Kyle then back at the picture.

Kyle:

I tightened my grip both on Lexi And my gun reflexively. "Yes?" I asked coolly, my eyes daring him to move first. I might feel mildly bad about killing some one Lexi knew, but keeping Krissy safe justified it.

"You're related to her. You have...almost the same face and hair..." Shawn mused. "Guess I can't kill her then. But I'll be dead in a week..."

Lexi looked up at Kyle with that look on her face, the look saying she wanted to help her old friend from getting killed by the person who ordered Krissy's death. "Come on..." she whispered. "He'd be safe with us and you could keep an eye on him..."

Kyle:

I considered it for a minute. It would have been easier to have short him in the head the second I had the chance. I wouldn't have let Lexi get a look at him and we would have been on our way without incidence. "Letting him come back with us means taking him straight to his mark. How well do you trust this guy Lexi?" I murmured to her.

"Because if he didn't help me, I would exist anymore," Lexi whispered seriously. "I owe him. We can protect, Kriss. We've done it before."

Kyle:

"You trust him enough to put Krissy's life on the line?" I asked coolly. "Because if he so much as looks at her in an unfriendly way I will shoot him."

Michael:

I came back to Krissy with her crutches, feeling a bit shy and uncertain.

Seth:

I asked Krissy what she was doing and ended up fetching duct tape for her and helping her tape the plastic over her cast.

Krissy:

Both Seth and I looked up when the door opened. Seth looked slightly embarrassed and moved away from me quickly when Michael came in.

Michael:

I paused upon entering, but I pushed my thoughts aside and walked over to Krissy.

Krissy:

I muttered a thanks to Seth then cocked my head to the side while studying Michaels expression. "Thank you." I said quietly taking my crutches.

Michael:

I nodded, and looked at Krissy uncertainly. My eyes asked her if I had done something wrong, as she wasn't the same as she usually was.

Krissy:

I heard Seth leave the room quietly but didn't take my eyes off Michael. "What's the matter?" I asked softly and uncertainly.

Michael:

"Did I say something I shouldn't? You got all quiet and unresponsive." I said shuffling awkwardly. "I love you, and I don't want to ever ruin things between us."

"Just make sure he knows that and he won't try anything, I'm sure of it," Lexi murmured. "He knows when not to shoot someone. He's not trigger-happy, unlike someone I could mention..."

Krissy:

"No, no you didn't say any thing wrong." I said while placing a few more strips of duct tape on my leg and pulling it off the table. "It was my fault really, for reacting the way I did. I'm sorry."

Kyle:

I tsked and squeezed her side lightly. "What, you mean me?" I asked a small smile dancing around my lips. "Fine," I said quietly to her then looked up at Shawn. "Okay, you're in -for now- but if you make one wrong move," I looked pointedly at my gun then held my hand out. "I'm Kyle O'Shay."

"You must be Krissy's older brother then. I'm Shawn, as you know. No last name. Never had one," Shawn shrugged, shaking Kyle's hand. "Thanks for this. I know you would rather shoot me through the head and be done with it."

Kyle:

I smirked. "That is true." I said simply "Lexi, honey, why don't you go see if the cake is ready yet?"

"Cake? Is it somebody's birthday?" Shawn asked curiously.

Lexi nodded and ran inside to see if the cake was ready. She emerged a few moments later with the cake in hand. "Here it is!"

Kyle:

I smiled peaking inside the box. “That’s it then right?” I asked mentally going over the things we needed.
