Boarding School for the Mythical

I sat up and grabbed my hoodie slipping it on before relaxing on hiding my ears and tail. The hoodie would hide them for me. I smiled at her, my eyes cutting through the darkness like it didn't exist.

Tabitha:

Something about his smile, even in the dark, put butterflies in my stomach. Shade nudged my hand when I paused the petting. “So, is this your first year here?” I asked running my fingers through my pet’s silky fur.

Sphinx:

"Of a sort." I replied with out really answering yes or no to her question. I watched her curiously, trying to figure her out. She was different than a lot of people I had met, and she was always making me curious when I was around her. I liked that, curiosity was one of my strong suits.

Tabitha:

“Yeah? Have you do you like your roommate? Did you get a better one than me?” I asked studding his face.

Sphinx:

I smiled sheepishly "I dont have a roommate, one of the special privileges I have." I told her meeting her eyes.

Tabitha:

My heart fluttered and I dropped my gaze down to my fox trying not to bite my lip. “Yeah? Lucky. What other privileges do you get?” I asked forcing myself to look back at him.

Sphinx:

"I have keys to everything, and I can basically do as I want. A perk of helping fund this place." I said flashing her a grin.

Tabitha:

I grinned back at him and a giggle bubbled out for no apparent reason.

I smiled at her giggle, and looked down into my lap. She was just so interesting.

Tabitha:

I watched him biting my lip slightly. You could tell he was very attractive even in the dark, but I couldn’t place what age he was. I couldn’t even guess. He looked young, not a single line on his face, but the way he moved, it was like he had been in his body for a very long time. Graceful, like a vampire. “What are you?” I asked suddenly, it was rude I knew. My mama had always taught me that it didn’t matter what a person was, just how they acted, but I had known a few vampires and I wasn’t keen to know another one. And it would explain his beauty.

Sphinx:

I hesitated before getting to my feet and offering my hand to her. "Can I show you?" I asked softly, my voice and body language just saying how nervous I was.

Tabitha:

My eyes widened slightly and I sat there staring up at him. I took his hand timidly after a moment and got to my feet holding shade with one arm. “Okay..” I said slowly. Oh god, he was going to bite me wasn’t he? Or turn into a bat.. Did vampires turn into bats? I didn’t know. And what was wrong with Shade? He disliked vampires more than I did. Maybe he bumped his head.. I stared at Sphinx wide eyed.

I smiled tiredly at her before saying softly. "Trust me, i wont hurt you." I offered my hand out to her again, before saing softly. "I dont like people to know...those ichave told...dont take it well."

Tabitha:

That didn’t fit. Maybe he was a self-conscious Vampire? From what I knew they were pretty arrogant… “Okay, just show me.” I said. I had to know, I liked him too much to keep thinking he was a vampire, and if he was I had to get away quickly even if he wasn’t an ordinary one.

Sphinx

I hesitated before calling up a light between us. I let out a soft breath before pulling off my hood and letting my ears show. "I am wht my name suggests, a sphinx." I said softly, my eyes searching her face worriedly. Legends called us monsters even worse than demons. But history was written by the victors, and my race we hadnt won the war.

Tabitha:

I stared at him for a moment then laughed from nerves. “Oh thank God. I thought you were a vampire and that I was about to get bitten.” I said shaking my head a little at my own worry. I smiled apologetically up at him, “Sorry, but what is a sphinx?”

Sphinx

I blinked ad twitched my ears. "Has my race finally fallen in obscurity. Thatcis both....reliving and....troublesome." i admitted looking up at the sky.

Tabitha:

“I mean, I know that a sphinx is…” I thought about it and couldn’t come up with anything. I frowned not liking looking so ignorant in front of him. “Well, clearly you’re not bad, Shade likes you and he has pretty good taste.” I pointed out smiling reassuringly.

I smiled a bit more and nodded appreciatovely. It felt nice to be accpeted.

Tabitha:

I took a step closer to him. “And I like your ears.” I said truthfully feeling a little blush on my cheeks. Shade yawned and huffed laying his head on my shoulder sleepily.

I blinked and smiled at her, my head tilting curiously at the blush on her cheeks.

Tabitha:

“Well I ought to get the baby to bed.” I said as I kissed Shade on the tip of the nose. “I’m glad I saw you tonight.” I smiled as I turned.

I smiled ad nodded. "Alright, i will see you tomorrow then." I promised her before flashing her a grin and taking thevlight with me as i headed back to my dorm.

Tabitha:

I made my way back to my room and crept in slowly hoping that my roommate was in her room.  I had Shade tucked in my shirt and out of sight. 

Adella had found her way into her bedroom, her hair still dripping wet but she sat on a towel so the rug wouldn't get wet. She played with a ball of water, moving it and manipulating it into different shapes as she played.
