Boarding School for the Mythical

I nodded once before closing my eyes and creating a phone in my hands. I offered it to her, my hand going back to stroking her cheek gently. As I stroked her cheek I focused on purging traces of Varric from her system.

Tabitha:

I kept my eyes on him as I dialed her number. “I need you, Dory. Something happened. Do you think you could come up to the school just for a little while?” I asked softly once she answered. She agreed in an instant. She said would be here in a couple hours. I let her go reluctantly so she could get ready. I realized I missed her horribly. I missed all of my family. My eyes started tearing up more. It was mortifying to cry in front of Sphinx, but something was very wrong and I didn’t know what.

Sphinx:

I gave her a tired smile, as I let my energy continue to flow into her. My powers were working with her body, bolstering her immune system as I didn't know what else to do.

Tabitha:

I fell asleep on the couch, but I was restless. I couldn’t wake up and yet I couldn’t be still.

An hour later Dory called back.

I picked up the phone not wanting to have Tabitha wake up. I slipped on a hat and hid my tail as I spoke softly into the phone. "Hello?"

Dory paused in her car. “Who is this? Where is Tabitha?” She asked. Her voice was smooth and low pitched. She sounded nothing like her sister.

Sphinx:

"MY name is sphinx, um, Tabitha is sleeping, but she doesn't look very good." I told her softly chewing on my lip.

Dory got out of the car. “Where? I’m here.” She said impatiently.

Sphinx:

I closed my eyes and fixed the door before getting up and dashing out of my place. I ran towards the parking lot an spotting her I jogged over.

Dory watched him jog up to her. She tossed her long silver-black hair over her shoulder and focused her blue eyes on him. “What happened to my sister? Where is she?” She asked icily.

I held up my hands. "She had an accident and so..." I trailed off giving a shrug before motioning for her to follow. I rushed back to Tabitha, where I went back to stroking her cheek, but I also smoothed her hair out of her face.

Dory walked behind the couch and leaned over her sister. “Tabs, honey I’m here.” She said softly as she touched her cheek. She frowned at her. “This isn’t her room.” She stated looking back to Sphinx. “I’m taking her to her room. Thank you, for taking care of her.” She said.

I knelt down and picked Tabitha up in my arms easily. "I know the way." I said softly and headed out without a word.

Dory followed him keeping her eyes on her sister. Tabitha made a soft sound and pressed her face into his shoulder.

Sphinx:

When we reached Tabitha's place I closed my eyes and the lock flashed before opening on its own. I went straight for Tabitha's room, laying her down gently on the bed as I looked at her in concern.

Shade jumped up on the bed immediately and curled up on his girl’s hair, looking at her with worried eyes. His nose twitched. She smelled different, not bad.. just not how she usually did.

Dory’s eyes were drawn to the mark on Tabitha’s neck. “Is that…?” She muttered reaching to touch it but the Fox curled his tail around, looking like he wouldn’t let her. She paused then turned to Sphinx. “She was attacked?” She demanded.

Sphinx:

I stayed quiet and brushing Shade's tail away I pressed my hands over the bites and sealed them up.

Dory watched him with closed fists. “Vampire bite? That’s what set her off?” A voice came from the door way. The boy standing there had jet black hair and green eyes. “Ari, you said you wouldn’t be here for a while.” Dory said, her tone softening. “That car handles speed very well.” He said with a slight smile before going over to Tabitha. He sat down on the bed and turned her hand over to take her pulse, completely ignoring Sphinx.

Sphinx:

I looked up at the new guy before getting to my feet. I touched Tabitha's cheek gently before scratching shades head gently. I felt unwelcome, regardless of what ever it was I felt for her. If I knew what was going on, I could fix it. I could cure vampirism. Varric was a Vampire lord and curing him would kill him. But Tabitha wasn't so...

Ari’s gaze flicked to Sphinx. “Who’s this?” He asked Dory. She shrugged. “Some friend of Tabitha’s. She was in his room.” She answered. “What exactly happened to her? Did you just find her after she was bitten?” Ari asked, studying him carefully.

Sphinx:

I closed my eyes and focused my powers when I opened them they had a soft glow about them. "She was coming over to return my clothes." I said simply.

Dory blinked and glanced at Ari. “And..?” Ari pushed, his hand enclosing Tabitha’s.

Shade ignored them and started licking his girl’s face gently.

I shifted in place. "And she had a run in with a vampire. He was dealt with. But who are you?" I asked looking at him curiously. I continued to pet Shade, my hand moving automatically.

“Ari.” He said. “and my sister Dory you met. You can leave now. We’ll take care of this.” He nodded to Tabitha.

I nodded and looked down at Tabitha for a long moment before reaching out and putting a hand on Ari and Dory's shoulders. I focused giving them a burst of energy. They could stay awake as long as they needed. With that, I gave Shade one more scratch behind his ears before leaving. If my ears weren't hidden in my hat they would have shown how miserable I was feeling.
