A Personal War (closed)

I took my time, knowing there wasn't really much I could do to help anyways. All I had to do was get the horse and get her gear on.

i knocked down the tent and secured it away

I finished and got up, whistling for her to come and I began to get all the gear on, and once I got the saddle tightened I went to get some of the bags.

i sighed and stood up

"Almost ready?" I asked glancing over.

"just need's to be put on"

"Okay. I'll walk her out to the road then." I nodded and began to lead her back towards the main road.

i picked up the last of the bags and followed her

I glanced down each direction and finally let my breath out. Thankful I saw no one- especially not any Confederate soldiers or I'd be done for...

i carefully stepped out and offered her one of the bags "lets load up"

I nodded and found a little room for it and tied it on pretty tight like the others. "You lead today." I said and stepped back.

i nodded and grabbed the reins pulling the beast along the road

I smiled a little and looked at him. "How much longer do you think?"

"we could get to a city today" i said glancing back at her

"Really?" I asked a little excited. "Actual civilization!" I said a bit excited. "Not that I haven't enjoyed your company Nik..."

i laughed "i know what you mean"

I laughed and leaned against him. "You always know what I mean."

i smiled softly at the comment and kept walking

I glanced over smiling a little at him. "I love you." I said softly.

i grinned "i know how you feel, i love me too... but i love you even more"

I burst out laughing at that and shoved him a little. "You better love me back of I'll turn right around!" I said and grinned back, ruffling his hair a little.

i pulled her into a hug and kissed her "you'd miss me too much"

"How'd you guess?" I asked and half smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"you just told me" i teased

"Oh, right." I rolled my eyes and shook my head.
