Perfect Assassins

Ebony:

I winced a bit as the comb moved through and removed the tangles my hair got from sleep. I heard the closet door open and Michael's voice respond. "Sure, is there anything you would like me to try making while you help her?" I felt bad, if my hair wasn't in such a bad shape, she could go with him now. I gazed at my reflection, noting what I thought were imperfections. In truth, my skin was almost snow white, and blemish free.

Krissy:

I shook my shed. “Nah, I’ll be down in a few minutes. I’ll find something.” I told him pausing with the comb to smile sweetly at him before going back to what I was doing. I paused for a moment to get a little bottle from my bag. I sprayed the stuff in her hair then combed it from the bottom up. Her hair was silky smooth and straight when I finished. I grinned at her in the mirror.

I smiled shyly back before picking up the whiteboard. "I wish I was as beautiful as you." I wrote simply. I showed it to her, before giving her a hug and skipping out of the room. It was an honest fact that I wished. I wasn't sad about my looks. I just wished I was more like Krissy.

Krissy:

I smiled after her, my heart warmed by what she had wrote. She really was a doll, and she was very pretty. Prettier than me I thought, though in a different way. It had taken being with Michael to really see that I was pretty in the first place. I hadn’t thought I was ugly before, I just hadn’t thought much of my looks. I left the room to go find Michael.

Ebony:

I was sitting on the counter in the kitchen watching Michael make two bowls of cereal. One for himself, and one for me. I gave Krissy a small wave before going back to watching.

Krissy:

I walked up to Michael and grinned at want he was doing. “Such a great chef.” I commented pouring my own self a bowl of milk and getting a different kind of cereal.

Michael:

I laughed slipping my arms around her and kissing her deeply. When I went back to the bowls, one was gone and a large amount of both of our cereals was gone. I blinked then turned towards the table where Ebony was munching quietly, trying to look completely innocent.

Krissy:

I grinned at Ebony and took my bowl to the table with her. I sat cross-legged in the chair while I ate, happy that the nausea had passed for the time being.

Ebony:

I continued to eat, a small grin on my face. I continued to eat as I watched them. My grin lessened as a pang went through me. I wanted to have what they had...They looked so happy together, so at peace with themselves and each other.

Krissy:

I put my bowl in the sink once I was finished. Eric came in the room shortly after. “Nearly ready?” He asked to the room though he was facing Ebony. “Should I get Kyle and Lexi?” I thought out loud. “Not exactly how I would imagine they’d like to spend their honey moon.” Eric commented. ”Oh… True… Maybe we should take them out later, to celebrate or whatever. Last night didn’t go too well after all.” I said thoughtfully.

Ebony:

I paused with the spoon in my mouth as I blinked up at Eric. I nodded slowly, glancing at Krissy and Michael before leaving the spoon in my mouth as I went over to the sink to put the bowl.

Krissy:

I washed my hands then went to Michael’s side while keeping my eyes on Eric. I was trying to figure out what he was doing with Ebony, if he really liked her, or if it was just a game to him. I didn’t want to let them alone. Which was why we were going rock climbing together, despite my uneasiness with heights.

Ebony

I went over to him and stood next to him, looking up at him. I had no idea what we needed, though it felt familiar. I waited patiently for him to make the first move.

Eric:

I went to get the back pack I had prepared. “It’s not very tall cliff. So as long as none of us fall,” I glanced at Krissy who scowled at the wall, “We should be good. Even if one were to fall, it shouldn’t be fatal.” I explained. “Its about a mile out.”

Ebony:

I nodded adjusting my shirt again before clasping my hands behind me. I wasn't really sure what I should do right now. So I just waited.

Krissy:

I slid my ring off and looped it on the chain that held Michael’s dog tags so as not to lose it or scratch it while climbing. “Well, lead the way.” I said with a little shrug. I laced my fingers with Michael’s as we followed him. “Sorry if you didn’t want to do this.” I murmured so only he could hear me.

Michael:

"Way I see it, I can make you go first so I can stare at your butt." I whispered back, looking at her innocently.

Krissy:

“Oh good! So When I fall I’ll knock you off too so you can cushion the hit.” I said with bright sarcasm. I pulled my sunglasses out and put them on quickly once we were outside. Warm wind blew across my skin making me smile softly. “Feels like home doesn’t it?” Eric said close by my other side. “Mmhmm, ‘cept it doesn’t smell as good.” I muttered to him.

Michael:

I gave her hand a squeeze, kissed her cheek then went over to Ebony, explaining how to rock climb. I figured it would be better this way, Krissy was mine, and I trusted her. I didn't trust Eric, but I didn't need too.

Krissy:

Eric walked closer to me when Michael went to Ebony. “Fifty bucks says you’re sick by the time you reach the top.” I said quietly. I scowled at him briefly. “I told you, I’ve grown up. I’ve changed quite a bit since I was eleven.” I said honestly. Even so I knew he was probably right. We reached the base of the cliff and Eric pointed out the path up. It looked considerably taller than he had made it sound this morning.

Eric:

I smirked a little at the look on Krissy’s face. I couldn’t wait until she got halfway up. I went to Ebony to explain anything Michael had failed to. I pulled a whistle out of my back pack and looped the cord around her neck. “If you need help blow on this and I will climb back down to you. I’m going to go up first to mark the path for y’all.” I said.

Ebony:

I blinked and looked at the whistle before nodding giving him a big smile in appreciation. I didn't think I was scared of heights, and while I wasn't familiar with what we were doing, I had to trust them to take care of it right?

Eric:

“You might want to practice a little first while you’re so close to the ground.” I advised Ebony then glanced at Krissy. “You too.” She scowled. “I’ve done this before, Blakely.” She snipped. I smirked and turned back to Ebony, leading her to the base. “Go up a little then come back down while I’m here, just in case you fall.” I told her.

Ebony:

I nodded feeling a little nervous but I stepped up to the cliff anyway. I let out a soft breath before placing my hands on the rocks surface and starting to climb. I felt surprised ring through me as I climbed. This was easier than I thought it was. Every motion as I pulled myself, and stepped higher was familiar to me. Every tug of the muscles, ever reach, every grab.

Eric:

“Beautiful.” I called to her. “I’m coming up.” I told her before turning back to Krissy for a moment. “You don’t really need me to mark it do you? That was just for Ebony, but she doesn’t seem to need it.” Krissy put on a fake smile and gave me a thumbs up. I grinned. “Great, good luck, and remember our bet.” I said with a wink before going up after Ebony.

Krissy:

I cursed under my breath, watching him climb up easily to meet Ebony. I looked at the top of the cliff again and my stomach turned unpleasantly.

Michael:

I gave her a hug from behind and whispered softly. "I'll be right behind you, I will catch you. No matter what, I will catch you." I kissed her neck gently, keeping my arms loose around her.

Ebony:

I paused keeping my grip on the wall as I looked back at Eric. Had he called me beautiful? I wondered as I watched him climb up. I was struck again by how handsome he was, though I kept that to mysefl.
