Perfect Assassins

Krissy:

I let out a long sigh then went over to the rock and pulled myself up a few feet. I cursed under my breath and clung to the rock. “Don’t do anything to make me look down.” I warned Michael, only three feet off the ground.

Eric:

I climbed up to Ebony’s level. “You’re doing great.” I encouraged her with a bright smile.

Ebony:

I grinned back at him, before looking up and starting to climb again. I was still amazed with how familiar it all was, but I really couldn't remember doing this before.

Michael:

I nodded even though I wanted to whistle as her climbing had put her at the perfect height for me to stare at her butt. I waited patiently, willing her to be strong.

Krissy:

I kept my eyes up, occasionally looking at Eric and Ebony. They had gone so far so quickly.. and I was stuck below scrutinizing every crevice for its cling ability. I made the huge mistake of looking down. I drew in a sharp breath and froze. I was closer to the top that the ground, but I still had quite a bit to go. I was stuck, and in an awkward position. “Oh god.” I muttered. I had a death grip on the rocks, there was no way I was falling, unless I fainted, which seemed kinda likely. My head was spinning, my stomach was turning. I moaned, closing my eyes and pressing my forehead to the rough rock. I needed a whistle, why hadn’t Eric given me a whistle? Why hadn’t he marked the path? Why had I even come up the side of the damn cliff?

Eric:

I couldn’t help but smile. Ebony was brilliant at this, she was far better than a beginner. I was enjoying myself quite a bit. She even made me forget to look down at Krissy to check her progress. Though the top of Krissy’s head wasn’t really that attention getting.

Ebony:

I saw how close the top was getting and so I raced ahead of Eric, climbing above him as I laughed silently. Soon I was able to pull myself up over the top of the cliff.

Michael:

I saw Krissy freeze and so I manuevard myself behind her, spreading in a bit of an awkward and difficult position as I pressed my chest to her back. "You are doing amazing love." I said removing one of my hands from the face of the wall to grab hers. From there I lifted her hand, kissed the back of it as I supported a bit of her weight and helped her reach up for another hold. I grabbed my own hold as I lifted a foot this time, wedging it under hers as I used it to bring one of her feet higher. "I think a nice peanut butter and jelly sandwich sounds wonderful once we are done." I remarked as I repeated the process with her other hand. But I never stopped talking, reguardless how taxing it was to do this, as I had to support her weight a bit, and hang on by only three holds. I did it for her. I just talked to her, not caring if she responded, or what she might say in return. The words were there to bring her mind back, to ease her fears without bringing attention to it as I helped her climb higher.

Krissy:

I could hardly understand what Michael was saying to me over the ringing in my ears, I didn’t care either, I was focusing on not fainting. I was calmed slowly by having him against my back. My dizziness passed, the ringing eased, My stomach still felt like it was several feet below, but it wasn’t so painful. I could actually feel my hands again. I was incredibly grateful for Michael. “I think I’ve got it now, love.” I said after a little bit. I knew it must be hard for him to do this for me.

Eric:

I got over the edge shortly after her. I got to my feet and let out a breath. “You are amazing. Have you done that before?” I asked grinning over at her.

Ebony:

I smiled shyly and glanced over the edge to see how Krissy and Michael were doing before walking a bit away so they would have plenty of room to get up. I turned towards Eric and smiled shyly. I shrugged to show that I didn't know. I couldn't remember rock climbing before, but I certainly had to have. No way could I be so good at it without doing it before.

Michael:

I kissed her cheek then her neck and stopped helping to move her, though I did continue to support a bit of her weight and would until she started climbing again. My breathing was a bit deeper, but I didn't complain. I had helped her, and that was enough for me.

Krissy:

I managed to move up on my own, a little easier than before. I made a very strong point not to look down, only up at how close the edge was now. I made it to the edge and Eric leaned over. “So close, just have to pull yourself over the edge, don’t unbalance yourself though. It could happen, you get over confident and lose your grip.” He teased. I glared back at him until he held out his hand and pulled me up onto the ledge. I dropped his hand instantly and backed away from the edge. I sat down on a rock to give my stomach a chance to untwist. “Well aren’t you speedy.” I commented dryly to Ebony.

Ebony:

The elation I had been in died a little at her words and I looked down shyly. I wasn't sure if she meant it or not. I had just climbed, and had enjoyed it. If she didn't like then she didn't have to come right? I shook my head to dispel the thoughts as I watched Michael pull himself over the edge. He was stretching his muscles, a slight grimace on his face.

Krissy:

I got to my feet and went over to Michael and placed my hands on either side of his face. I kissed him, showing how grateful I was for him helping me up. I didn’t even care that Eric and Ebony could see us, and I usually didn’t like people to watch us like this.

I blinked in surprise at her sudden kiss before closing my eyes and kissing back happily and deeply. I wrapped my arms around her waist, drawing her close.

Eric:

I scowled at the two of them for a moment before turning to catch Ebony’s hand. “Come on, there is a pathway down that isn’t too steep.” I said as I turned my back on Krissy. I pulled a water bottle out of my pack and offered it to Ebony.

Krissy:

I giggled softly when he pulled me closer, continuing to kiss him happily. I kept one hand on his cheek but moved the other behind his neck.

Michael:

I tuned out the world as I kissed her deeply, grinning like a fool into it. I had both hands on her back, one on her waist, the other higher up between her shoulder blades.

Ebony:

I glanced at our hands, not sure what to do about it before taking the water and opening it gratefully.

Krissy:

I pulled back after a long moment for breath. I grinned at him, sliding both hands behind his neck. “Thank you.” I murmured, still only inches from his face.

Eric:

I tugged her along to the pathway down the cliff. My mind was absent, fuming about Krissy but not showing it on my face. In one short day everything had changed between us. I had of course made it worse by getting drunk last night. Now I wondered how reparable our relationship was.

Ebony:

I was having to half jog just to keep up with his long fast paced strides, and my hand was hurting a bit from how tight he was holding it. I gritted my teeth and just soldiered through it. With him so far into his thoughts right now, I doubted I could make enough noise or enough of a fuss to remind him of my hand in his.

Michael:

I smiled softly, resting both hands on her hips. "Of course, I told you I wouldn't let you fall." I whispered with a wink.

Krissy:

I grinned. “My guardian angel.” I said softly and kissed his cheek before grabbing his hands and stepping back. “Come on, we don’t want to leave them unsupervised.” I said.

Eric:

I noticed her expression and loosened my grip. “Sorry, not naturally gentle. As you can imagine.” I said with a shrug.

Ebony:

I shrugged a little, looking down. I was glad that he had stopped squeezing it so hard, but it wasn't like I could say or do anything. I was like a fragile doll compared to everyone else in the house. Heck I wasn't even there exactly by my choice. But I stayed, because I felt safe.
I turned my eyes to him once more, my eyes asking him to explain what he meant. He had been nothing but gentle with me, so I couldn't understand what he meant.

Eric:

I looked back into her eyes trying to figure out what she was thinking. Questioning what I was saying was she? Just as well that she didn’t understand. I didn’t need more people in the house knowing how I was. One was enough. “Wait up!” I heard Krissy call.

Ebony:

I glanced over my shoulder smiling at Krissy and waving with my free hand before turning back to look at Eric, my eyes showing that I was willing to wait for the answer.

Eric:

Krissy caught up with us, towing Michael behind her. Her eyes went to Ebony’s hand in mine then back up to my face. She smiled but it was the kind of smile that hid all of her thoughts. I could see the gears turning in her eyes, I just couldn’t read her mind. Not like I used to.

I glanced between the two of them wondering what was going on. I had no idea what I should do or what I should think. I couldn't tell what Eric thought of me, and it seemed like Krissy didn't want me to be with Eric. But what could I do, I felt trapped between two walls.

Krissy:

I watched them carefully. I didn’t want Eric to hurt Ebony, yet I wanted him to be happy, but I also wanted her to be happy. “We should take Lexi and Kyle out to celebrate them and whatever.” I suggested once we were down the pathway and walking back to the house.

Michael:

"Sure, sounds fun." I said wincing a bit. Sitting at dinner with Kyle who would do nothing but glare at me, and Lexi who would probably do the same wasn't exactly an ideal thought. But if my fiance wanted to do it, then I wasn't going to argue.

Krissy:

“I know a place, about four hours out. Kyle will like it.” Eric said with a slight smirk. “In fact why don’t we split up, he never had a bachelor party after all. You girls can have the red head.” He grinned mischievously at me. I scowled at him. “No. He’s my brother. You don’t get to take him anywhere.”

Ebony:

I glanced back at Krissy and Michael feeling kind of trapped. I couldn't really get a say, nor could I come. I didn't have anyone to go out on a date with. Eric was hot, but I didn't know what he thought of me.

Krissy:

I broke away from them to go find Lexi and Kyle to tell them we were taking them out.

Eric:

I turned to Ebony once Krissy left. “I don’t suppose you have cowboy boots?” I asked her. “You would look very, very nice in boots.” I murmured looking her up and down.
