Naveen

I grinned at her happily, looking over my shoulder at her before looking forward. I continued on, the words coming out perfectly in a way they could understand. "Yay! I'm so glad that I can speak this language now!"

Rina

I slowed to walk right next to them. “So you’re speaking now?” I asked, skeptically. “Can you tell me where you came from then?” I asked.

Maleen:

I tensed a little and tapped Wrens back lightly, warning her not to say.

Wren:

I looked over my shoulder at Maleen, not understanding the tap. I looked at Rina and chewed on my lip. "I'm not really sure where I am actually...and I can't figure out how to say its name in this language..."

Rina:

I frowned at that. “Did you come through a portal? From another realm?” I asked her.

I shrugged. "I was in the High Council room, and I was told I committed some sort of treason. But...I think I was set up. I actually have no idea how I got here."

Rina:

“Who are you?” I asked, getting frustrated with the lack of information.

"Well...that is a difficult question..." I began my eyes unfocusing. "My name is not something that can be translated to something in this language. My original name is not something I can remember. But I became known as Wren Angeale at times."

Rina:

“I meant beyond your name.” I said dully. “What did you do? What were you?” I asked.

"I sat on the high council. It really wasn't anything spectacular. Um...what I was in hard to answer as well. I was two things when I should only have been one." I sighed rubbing my temples.

Rina:

“And those were..?” I prompted impatiently.

"I was both an archangel and a matriarch." I said looking at her. She seemed upset.

Maleen:

I sucked in a breath and winced. Rina was clearly surprised by this revelation. “Archangel?” She said, her tone stunned. “As in angel? Like an actual angel?"

I nodded slowly. "I think so." I admitted, with a small shrug.

Maleen:

Rina got quiet and looked ahead. She was scary quiet. “I told you not to tell” I whispered to her.

"Huh? No you didn't." I said confused. Had I done something wrong?

Maleen:

“Yes,” I murmured. “Yes I did. I told you not to tell anyone what you were. It’s not safe for you in this land.” I whispered but got quiet when Rina spoke again. “What can you do? Do you have any powers?” She asked.

Wren:

I blinked and looked down. "I...I don't know to be honest."

Maleen:

“No one else should know about her.” I urged. It wasn’t my place to tell Rina what to do, but this was a matter of another life. “It’s rare for an angel to be here for anytime at all. Some would try to use her. She’s in danger as long as she’s here.” I said worriedly. Rina considered for a moment. “She’s in no danger from me. She said.

"Um, I have a question." I said shyly, looking down at the horse we were riding on.

Maleen:

“Yes?” Both Rina and I asked at the same time. Rina glanced at me briefly before looking to Wren.

"What is the name of your birds? They are beautiful." I said pointing.

Rina:

I blinked. “Oh.” I reached up and felt the feathers of my swallows. Talon had recognized them, beyond him, no one had known about them prior to their immediate death. “Aero,” I said as he zipped off my shoulder and fluttered around me. “And Iris.” My ice dagger was usually the one who stayed by my side. While Aero was more protective of me, Iris was the one I usually chose to use by hand because it took her longer to kill than it did Aero.

I smiled. "They are beautiful." I nodded and relaxed against Maleen behind me. I closed my eyes, letting my thoughts drift off and daydream.

Maleen:

I drew in a soft breath and put my arms around her slowly to take the reins.

Rina:

I smiled at the compliment, proud on my birds. They were really the only thing I had any attachment to.

Talon:

I wiped my weapons clean on the shirts of one of the men I killed. It hadn't been easy, and I was nearly drained by the encounter. It had been as hard as I expected. These were trained soldiers, but that didn't stop a blade cutting them in half any more than anyone else.
