Naveen

Maleen:

I gasped softly when I saw Talon. Was he a part of this group? No one seemed to be trying to fight him away. I nodded and took the water from him gratefully. “Thanks.” I whispered softly.

I brought the mouth of the waterskin to her lips, tipping it up slowly so she could drink without drowning in the water.

"They paid," I gave her a small smile and turned my head to look up at one of my soldiers. I moved my head to the side and he nodded taking the empty water skin and moving to go fill it again.

Rina:

 

I made my way through camp to get to the tent I wanted.  The head of camp, right in the middle.  Several of the men nodded in greeting.  There were very few women in the camp.  Iris trailed along behind me.  I didn’t feel threatened here, the dangerous part of my job was over.  I was still furious though that Maleen had been taken from me and I had been left.  I saw the stake she was tied to and made my way to her.  She was very close to the tent I wanted.  I stopped short when I saw who was next to her.  My lips parted in surprise and my eyebrows knit together in irritation.  How could he be here? Why was he here?  In a camp full of humans?  Sure this lot was more relaxed towards such creatures than most, but still?  He was such a pretentious creature I couldn’t understand how they could even stand him.  I glanced at Maleen, she at least looked somewhat pleased to see me.  I continued into the tent but gave Talon a disdainful look as I went.

 

Maleen:

 

I brightened up when I saw Rina.  Even if she was the reason I was here, I felt safer with her around.  And I was with Talon.  Although I was still bound, I didn’t think anyone would hurt me while the two of them were so close.  My eyes followed Rina as she went into a big tent.

Talon:

I raised an eyebrow at that disdainful look, before taking the refilled water skin from a troop.  "Want more?"  I asked giving it a little shake.

Maleen:

 

I nodded and took more eagerly.  Once I had finished the second water skin I felt much better, despite the smoke still stinging my eyes.  I watched the tent carefully and listened to the pair of voices arguing within.

Talon:

I got to my feet and motioned for one of my guards to attend to Maleen, then I turned and strode right into the tent where arguing could be heard.

Wren:

I watched the camp from the hill, hoping to see my friends coming back to me.  My focus on the camp, made me not hear or see the man creeping up on me till he had an arm around my throat, and I was being roughly bound with the other one.

Rina:

I turned and let out an aggravated breath. I tuned out the head of cam and stared at Talon. “Why are you always exactly where I don’t need you to be? Are you actively trying to get in my way?” I asked icily. Brian blinked. “Do you know him?” He asked looking between us.

Talon:

I gave a small shrug. "Call it a small charm, I am always where I am not wanted. And yet, here I am, being paid no less." I gave her a tight smile.

Rina:

"Well can you wait? We're busy at the moment. You're not needed." I said dismissively.

Talon:

"Are you dismissing me and my troops then?" I asked, my eyes searching hers, my expression withdrawn.

Rina:

"I would." I said flatly while Brian shook his head. "Of course not. We greatly appreciate you being here. Rina was just leaving." He said to Talon. "I'm not leaving until I get what I want. She's useless to you." I said determinedly. "If she is as harmless and inexperienced as you say, then take her." He answered me in a tone straining with patients. He didn't mind yelling at me when we were alone. Now he was trying to be dignified to impress Talon no doubt. "Take her. Train her. Turn her into something we can use." He said before sitting behind his desk once more.

Talon:

I bowed to the man, "Me and my men will resume our watch." I told him before giving Rina that same formal bow. I turned on my heel and left the tent, my face impassive. I knelt down next to Maleen and said softly, "Rina got your freedom." With that I got to my feet and with a motion of my hand, my soldiers gathered and we moved towards the edge of the camp.

Maleen:

I blinked in surprise at him before turning to look at the tent expecting to see Rina coming out, but I only heard more arguing. She came out fuming. Marching over to me, she went to my bonds and cut them off with Iris. She grabbed my wrist and took off in the direction Talon had gone. "Wait." She called after him, sounding rather pained to do so.

Talon:

I didn't stop, instead two of my soldiers turned and stood in her way. I couldn't understand her hostility, and I didn't have time to deal with it. I was a soldier, I was being paid to do a job.

Rina:

"Get out of my way, I have to talk to him." I impatiently. "I have to talk to him. I was ordered to talk to him."

Talon:

I stopped moving and turned slowly, snapping my fingers and my soldiers moved to give us a wide perimeter. "Ma'am?" I asked formally.

Rina:

I let out a frustrated breath. "Brian," I said his name with a bit of venom. "Wants you to guard her -us- to make sure she doesn't.. Get out of control." I said through gritted teeth.

Maleen:

I blinked from behind Rina. How could I get out of control? I didn't even know that many spells. "Or you could send one of your men instead." Rina suggested.

Talon:

I kept my face impassive as I gestured over four members. "Do as she says in this regard. If Rina fails to keep Maleen under control, kill them both." I said without emotion before turning and moving on again.

Rina:

I glared at his back while a heard a soft gasp behind me. I turned to Maleen. "That's not going to happen." I told her. I looked at Talon's men. "I only need one of you." I said simply. "I need you to watch and that is all. Stay out of my way otherwise."

The four didn't move, they all stayed, their eyes elsewhere. They had their orders, they wouldn't listen to any others that violated those orders.

Rina:

I scowled and turned to take Maleen by the wrist. “Let’s go get Wren, she was worried for you. I don’t want to leave her alone for too long.” I said as I lead her along.

Wren:

I was tossed uncerimoniously onto the floor of a tent, bound and gagged. "Mmm, if only I had time and could have you all to myself...but I gotta turn you in, that way the boss can get all sorts of information out of you." I blinked up at him, struggling to get out.

Rina:

I cursed when we got to the spot where I had left Wren and found her gone. Maleen watched me while hugging herself. “Where is Wren?” She asked her eyes a little wide. “Gone. Looks like we’re going back.” I said in aggravation.
